Hi Action kid I'm from England in Cotswolds just say love your channel and have to tell you I'm father to ten year old son who has autism and learning difficulties he loves watching your walk abouts helps him to relax and calms him watching you big thumbs up for channel 🤗
I'm from Europe--living in Amsterdam. I want to go there one day, and see Boston with my own eyes. Can't wait until this damn pandemic is over. But based on the many pictures I saw from Boston, some movies, street view, and its rich history, I think that you're right. Boston is a European style city
Hey AK, I love all your videos but this Boston one is something I’m very happy and excited about. I went to Emerson almost 20 years ago and fell in love with Beantown. I love NYC most, but Boston is just a nice clean and easy city to get around. My one gripe was that unlike NYC, most things (especially the T) do not operate 24/7. Still, Boston is a fantastic place, and your tours help me relive those good days. Keep up the great work man
Hi, thank you so much for the tour. I have never been in Boston and it's nice to see the sights, thanks to your video. Keep up the good work and have a good one!
Thank you for this guide. I am traveling to South Station for the first time via Amtrak Lake Shore Limited to attend an expo this weekend (PAX East) at the Boston Convention Center nearby on Summer Street. This video gave me a good preview of the station.
Thanks for taking this ride to Boston. Maybe on your way back you can vlog the outside from Boston to NYC. When you showed the "T" train map, I thought it looks just like NYC subway map but not as many colors. Loved the vocal entertainment in the train station Lol! Keep warm! I like the ending to this vlog
I wished NYC Subway system was colored coded like the one in Boston is. So many trains and stations around NYC. Chicago's Subway system I wish that one was color coded (trains) makes it more easier to get around without being lost.
Good video! Use to go through there often. My nephew worked at a law firm in One Financial Center. So much to see downtown! Wish you were still doing walks in the frozen north!
Hello AK, just wanted to say a huge thank you for all your uploads and effort you put into your channel! Myself and my other half really enjoy your content, very much a treat for us once the kids are in bed haha! I am fascinated by the USA and hope to visit one day! Cheers, from the north West of England 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧😁😁
Interesting and very different from years ago. It used to have a chapel in there called "Our Lady Of The Railways" and Logan Airport had "Our Lady Of The Airways". North Station at the other end of Boston is a smaller station but nice and kept clean.
Don't think I have ever seen a station so empty. COVID sure made it rough for travelers around the world. Be glad when things are back to normal. I don't remember having to use the Charlie ticket, the card I loaded it for a week and had no problems with it. I think you can use the Charlie ticket to access more than just the bus and T. I could be wrong.
I used to go through South Station every week, it's changed a little bit since my last visit a few years ago. That train to Worcester (pronounced WUSS-tah) is going to get a lot busier later this year when the Red Sox AAA team moves out there from Pawtucket. Hope you enjoy your stay in Beantown.
It will take a while to modernize South Station. I am still in awe of the space-aged look of the Moynihan Station at NY Penn, which you showcased in one of your other videos. Glad to see you getting to another city, and showcasing my original hometown. Also good to hear that you get to spend some time with your brother, the other cyclist. Hope you will come to San Francisco one day -- we have great cycling here too!
@@ActionKid My husband used to race (cycling) with Century Road Club in NYC. He would get up at 4 AM for races on Sat morning in either Central Park or Prospect Park. He raced here in the SF Bay Area for a while, but prefers the kind of long-distance endurance stuff. Sadly, for a while we were getting chased by coyotes in our Presidio (in SF) so now hike across the Golden Gate Bridge, where there are way too many cyclists.
You should do another video of the South Station Transportation Center (SSTC) at some point. A skyscraper is being built over the tracks you walked by at he beginning of the vid. Keep up the good work!
Was there in October of 2018 and I was at the bus station at South Station when I went down to Newport, RI and it was during a Nor’easter. Thank goodness it was rain and not snow. The Dunkin Donuts there was good.
Welcome to the Bay State Ken and Beantown. Hope you can try out some Boston Baked Beans, a Fenway Frank, some New England Clam Chowder and of course a Lobster Roll!! Dress warmly and get your snow shoes out for a Blackened Shadow experience. :)
Subbed to your brother .. I have watched several channels like this.. Yours is BY FAR my Fav. You keep my interest, explain where and what we are seeing (important to me since I haven't been there before) and you show sights. Not just eye level walking. You def. Are the best of the best! Looking forward to checking out your brothers as well. Thank you for sharing the beauty!! Quick question.. In many of the places are some if the buildings in the heart of these City's apartments? Im in NC and I am fascinated with apartments on super busy city streets. Just amazes me. ( Im thinking I'm easily entertained😂)
Places to check out there with T stations and lines (all have bus connections): North Station (Green and Orange lines) Back Bay Station (Orange line) Boston Harbor (Aquarium station, Blue line) Maybe Logan Airport (Silver line SL1 or Airport station for Blue line then shuttle to all terminals) Any malls (use Transit app) Porter station (deepest subway station) (Red line) Harvard bus tunnel (Red line) Encore casino (Malden Center or Wellington stations for Orange line via shuttle)
Me n my boy missed the last bus back to Connecticut so we had to stay at this station overnight.. luckily the security doesn’t wake you up for sleeping in benches inside October 2018
Boston has a crap ton of European architecture (Back Bay, Beacon Hill, North End, South End) and is WAY more walkable. And I'd say we have worse drivers.
Boston has a lot more open air, is much cleaner, and is better to walk in imo but also has terrible vehicle traffic. NYC is a lot more crowded and dense, the streets are pretty dirty and also has terrible traffic. In conclusion, they are both cities.
Fact: MBTA (The T) is Bostonian counterpart of SEPTA. Here's how: - Orange, Blue, and Red Lines = BSL and MFL - Green Line = Subway-Surface Trolleys - T buses and trolleybuses = SEPTA buses and trolley buses - Commuter Rail (purple) = Regional Rail - Silver Line = Blvd. Direct - Mattapan High Speed Trolley = Route 15 (currently bustituted) - Charlie Card = SEPTA Key
Differences between systems: - The T has their own ferry system; SEPTA doesn't, but provides connections to an independent ferry service called River Link - SEPTA has an interurban trolley and railbus system (NHSL and trolley routes 101 and 102); the T doesn't - SEPTA provides connections to an independent metro rail called PATCO (Philly's version of the PATH trains); the T lacks this, but provides affordable commuter rail service to Providence RI - The SEPTA regional rail uses a point-to-point fare system using SEPTA Key; The T commuter rail still uses paper tickets and passes. - The T has direct BRT service (Silver Line) or subway (Blue Line) via shuttle to the airport; SEPTA has Regional Rail access to the airport. Both have access to all terminals as well as local or express bus connections. - The Charlie Card is valid on numerous bus companies near the Boston area; the SEPTA Key card doesn't but used to be valid on DART buses in Delaware but discontinued in 2021.
Charlie Ticket - magstripe card like the MTA NYC Metrocard. Charlie Card - RFID card (actually more of a proxcard) using the same technology as the MTA NYC OMNY.
Boston has a lot of history and style! The Boston Tea party and the Boston Massacre happened there as well and the Zoom kids program was tapped in Boston in the 1970s and late 1990s to 2005 on WGBH PBS station. In Miami right now we are in the 70s.
LOL...Federal Reserve is where they actually print/make the currency. Technically it's not a bank. If you have any paper money on you chances are good some of it was printed in that building.
I live in Boston and will show you around if you want. I will bring you to cape cod and show you the JFK museum and the kennedy compound in Hyannis Port. Let me know
Your gonna wanna stay away from this station. And do NOT use the mens or ladies bathroom. As someone more familiar than most with South Station please do not enter nor use the bathrooms. Why? Just trust someone who knows. I lived there. For months. If you actually enter the place do not touch anything. Just dont.

I'd say that Boston is probably the most "European style" city in the US given it's cleanliness and historic Downtown area
Agreed. It’s also very walkable like many European cities
@@LM-dv8pv yes
