This isn't too fast! It's perfect! If you were to buy a Percy Grainger record and listen to this, this is exactly how it is played. When you're used to hearing it like this, any slower is like a funeral march! these guys are great! and they look so young!
For everyone discussing tempo, Percy Grainger's original tempo marking was half note = 112-132. In this video we're playing it at about half note = 100. You can verify Grainger's marking by looking at his score on imslp [dot] org.
That was really good! I loved it. Im in 8th grade at my middle school, and play the violin in orchestra. We are currently attempting to learn this song. So far its been going okay, though I cant seem to get some parts right. Excellent performance, though the audience seemed a little out of it, or maybe it was just small?
For this arrangement of the piece, I think this is the musical tempo. For the full band arrangement, I think you would have to go faster, but I think this arrangement would sound strange if it were played any faster.

Bravo, I applaud all of you for a wonderful performance. Full of energy and nuance
That was great to listen to.

They played BEAUTIFULLY, the audience didn't clap anywhere near loud enough.
Aye, THAT VIOLIN KILT IT! GREAT JOB!
@lolmonkey98 if you are talking about the intro, that is a viola. but yes the violins (the two on the left) are also quite epic

wow, this is nice
This was a fun piece for viola
This is the normal tempo on any Percy Grainger record. It's a fast song and is meant to sound intense.

@@alexysscrow3940 I'm 5 and I can play 2 times fast
I love this song but it is tricky rhythmically in some parts.

@jonnyboy9464 Ideally, yes. Most people play ti waaaaay too slow.
@faithtimtoby is that not the normal tempo?
@jonnyboy9464 it should be about 35-40 seconds faster
how old are these guys?!
Beautiful! But as usually the first violin is a little too loud...
im in 8th grade and i can play it
Theres a better quality and players, look up Slingur - Molly on the Shore
