Great points made here brother David, how could anything Jesus said be dismissed to a footnote? I kept thinking of John chapter 21:15-17 when Jesus ask Simon Peter THREE times "lovest thou Me"??? This is the most important question for all of us. Thanks and God bless you and yours. Maranatha!!!!
Brother David can you show me the exact moment verse Paul was converted in acts 9, what verse qualified him to be saved? i know we are saved by his Gospel but which kind of way made him saved? was it just against his will? I figure it was against his will from the beginning because against his will a dispensation is commited to him
@travistaylor9852 Saul was saved by calling on the name of the Lord as Romans 10:13 indicates. Keep in mind that Paul received revelation in installments so he did not understand everything all at once (Acts 26:16). Hope this helps. Grace.
@@ColumbusBibleChurch so Paul was saved by calling on the name of the Lord like in acts 9 when he said Lord Lord ? but we dont get saved that way ? we believe 1st Cor 15 3-4 KJV?
@@travistaylor9852 Paul did lots of things that we do not do -- handle vipers, raise the dead, etc. Ananias preached the kingdom gospel to him and water baptized him (Acts 22:16). Acts is a transition book in which information is being revealed gradually (Acts 26:16), and thus, it is best to be cautious about drawing doctrinal conclusions from Acts. Hope this helps. Grace.
My understanding of walking in the flesh is that one who walks in the flesh exhibits any of the sins listed in galatians 5:19, for example. In this context, I assume that romans 8:9 refers to walking in the flesh as walking after those type of sins spoken of in galatians 5:19. Now, does that mean that according to romans 8:9, someone who walks in the flesh doesn't really have the Holy Spirit? But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. The word "if" sounds to me as a conditional clause saying that unless you have the Spirit in you, you don't walk in the flesh, or if you walk in the flesh then you don't have the Spirit, and that to me sounds like one can show he's not really saved by walking in the flesh proving that way that he doesn't have the Spirit in him. Can you clear this out for me please?
@nitochi3 A believer is not IN the flesh, but a believer can walk AFTER the flesh. Obviously, it is not a good thing for a believer to walk AFTER the flesh as it will produce destruction in the believer's life. As we continue to go through Romans 8, hopefully the teaching will make this clear. Grace.
When the phrase is not included it creates a possible doctrinal error. To say there is no condemnation of any kind to all who are in Christ Jesus is to overlook the whole of Scripture. ref: AV1611.
Love how you have tables and chairs instead of pews!
That because everyone has their Bibles out and are highlighting & taking notes. It’s not a service…it’s a Bible study.
2 Timothy 2:15
Matthew Henry says, "We cannot do it without the Spirit working it in us, and the Spirit will not do it without us doing our endeavour."
Amen.
