- Today, the 10th December 2019 sees the launch of the G6Max 3 in 1 universal gimbal from FeiyuTech. This upgrade to the G6 Plus adds a more powerful motor system capable of holding a 1.2KG payload (up from 800g of the G6 Plus).
USB-C charging to the inbuilt Li-Ion battery takes around 2 hours and the battery can power the unit for up to 9 hours, depending upon the payload.
With full Bluetooth control of the gimbal through the Feiyu On app from IOS or Android smartphone you can begin to use the advanced feature set of this new gimbal.
Add a Wi-Fi profile (Canon, Sony or Panasonic) to the gimbal and you can also control the camera recording features from the gimbal - you don't need any additional software.
It is possible to use any camera on the gimbal providing that all the 3 axis can be balanced and use this as a manual stabiliser.
Use the Feiyu On app to set the motor parameters and gimbal control sensitivity etc.

Thanks for this gimbal review! For the viewers please note that even with a gimbal walking heel to toe will produce some jerkiness, as in this video. Instead, slightly crouch down and move forward on the balls of your feet. There are some nice videos on you tube about camera movement without the use of gimbals. Also consider certain cameras, such as some Panasonics, that have remarkable internal image stabilization. I recommend first learning how to smoothly move a camera without a gimbal then integrate your smooth movement skills with a gimbal.

As a user of the FZ300 I never managed it to receive really smooth videos like I can receive sometimes with my Samsung S21Ultra. The 5 axis stabilsation the FZ300 provides normally is not avalible while filming in 4K 30fps. Now I can use both devices in a much better way with the FeiyuTech G6Max. I am glad that I did not buy one of the recent models with smaller payload.

I bought this today specifically because it was capable of eliminating the pendulum effect whilst walking. It looked smooth while you were filming yourself walking through the park path, however, when you entered the fairly flat section of 🍁-covered loam (“Entering rough terrain”), suddenly it was if the pendulum effect was pretty evident. Now I’m nervous. 😣

I took the boat trip close to the falls kept the camera on the gimbal and it was perfectly fine by the end of it.I didn't do anything special to try and dry the gimbal afterward and, like I said, it still works perfecty fine.
Nice overview, thanks. Your thoughts on the built-in battery lifespan with regular use(I haven't heard anyone talk about this possible problem down the road), and the app for Panasonic cameras to adjust and save motor strength.

Feiyutech G6MAX is all in one produc t that can work with action camera and phones and mirrless cameras. The light is only 600g but payload 1.2kg
and i love feiyutech servive a lot.
For the All in one gimbal,Feiyu provided the best products,G6Plus and G6Max both are better than others All in one,qulity/funtion and so on

The problem with all gimbals is that they have no stability in the vertical axis, so that it does not damp out the up/down movement when walking. That can clearly be shown here. Arguably, a 5 axis stabilised camera (GX80) will do better by itself, although for panning the gimbal wins.

Nice review. Did you had the opportunity to test it with a android phone as the main camera, how is the feiyu app, does ir have some limitations compared to the ios version.
It would have been nice to see a video with a mirror less camera rather than a cellphone. Not convinced the gimbal would perform as well with a payload closer to the specified 1200 g
Great movie! Can I use this gimbal with my Nikon B700 camera? It has bluetooth and wifi. And its weight is only 570 grams. But I don't see my camera in the list of compatible cameras in the manual for this gimbal. Are there any plans to do a firmware update that will support my camera?
I'm having a panic attack here. Is it true Panasonic isn't making sensors anymore? I bought a fz1000 and g85 as a starter kit to learn the Lumix system. I was planning on going full frame for Christmas. Should I even bother now?

How many hours of battery life are people getting with a mirrorless camera and average lens? I am using the Sony a6300 and kit lens and I'm only getting about 3-4 hours if I'm lucky. Should I send my unit back?
Would it work with a GH4+ 24-74mm lens? Not sure if the combos exceeds acceptable payload.

Hi there, I have a question: I got this gimbal today, and I can't rotate the knob ring of the ROLL Axis, its very tight. I did everything I could but I gave up, my hands are hurting already. Do I have to use a special tool for this one? Thanks a lot.

with the lens extending so far out it is not possible to balance the gimbal and the lens would prevent the full tilt operation

Thanks! Nice review. However, I'm not seeing feature that differentiates it from it's competitors, e.g object tracking, or elimination of crappy Chinese menus. Still hunting for simple object tracking on a GH5. Obviously, no reflection on the review itself.

Object tracking only with the smartphone only. I'm not aware of a gimbal that can be controlled from the camera like the integrated smartphone app can. I'm looking at mounting a small cheap android phone to the hot-shoe of my mirrorless and have this interface with the gimbal to track me moving about on location. This way the gimbal would move the mirrorless by default. Work in progress as they say!
@@GrahamHoughton12 Ya, that's how the Zhiyun and the Moza work (with a phone driving the object tracking), but I haven't seen any convincing YTs either works well.
