Hi Rbread05 - You could use the tapered t-bar applicator sleeve and get similar results. We only show Bona-made products in our best practices videos. Thanks!
Hi @ryanrichards4636 - While a t-bar can be used successfully with most of the micro-bevel floors on the market, if you have a deeper, true V-groove bevel then we'd recommend that sealer and finish be applied with a roller, as the t-bar puddle will fill up the groove and the applicator won't pull up the excess. The roller is our preferred method anyhow, but definitely a plus for bevel-edge flooring. Hope that answers your question!
Hi Kerry - We're using a 12" t-bar applicator and synthetic sleeve to apply Finish in this video. After the application we'll thoroughly rinse the applicator sleeve out with clean water; wring most of the excess moisture out of it and put it in a large zip-lock bag to prevent it from drying out. To prep it for the next application, remove from the bag - fresh rinse, wring the excess out, and blot with a clean terrycloth rag/towel (you want it just barely damp). If it's going to be several weeks/months before the next use, then we'll place the zip-lock in the freezer to prevent mildew/mold growth. Thaw it out under warm water before next use and follow the same prep instructions above. In this manner, we can keep using the same t-bar sleeve for lots of applications over many months. **Note: Use a separate, clean applicator sleeve for each type of sealer/finish that you're applying to avoid any type of cross-contamination or sheen issues.**
Also when you get to the end of the floor and still have a big puddle left, what the best procedure to pick it up? Also what grit sand paper do you recommended in between coats?
@@kerryb3425 To pick up excess (or dirty) puddle material at the end of the job, we usually just soak it up in our Cut-In Pad and skim it off on the edge of and into a plastic trashcan. You can also soak it up with rags or towels and dispose of those as well. Between coats, if needed, we'll use 180 or 240 grit Bona Diamond discs on a 320grit Conditioning Pad, or on the MultiDisc (depending on how aggressive we need to be). Hope that helps!
Im not a professional. I plan to do 2 coats of nordic seal white wash one day then next day (+/-18 hours ) later, 2 coats of mega finish. Do i need to abrade floors between sealer and finish? I will not have a machine so if needed will have to use sand paper.
Yep, and developing and filming a "demonstration" video is about as different from coating an entire floor, as writing complete sentences is from penning a novel.
Why not use the tapered applicator

@@BonaProfessional oh ok awesome that makes sense thank you for the quick response and great vid
Would this work with a bevel edge hardwood??

What applicator are you using and do i need to change out between coats?
