Tamarack trees are larches as well and tend to be distributed more easternly compared to Western Larch trees.. Western Larch and Tamarack are the same genus, larix, but different species. Beautiful trees.

Pepper spray works great when one is not trying to take a life while defending one's self.

Yes, my brother and I always carry pepper spray David. Funny I just noticed your comment, I didn't see any notice. Best wishes in the New Year.

If the wolves go, the other animals will over populate and that will eventually weaken our ecosystems.

Very true. There's a carrying capacity to a given balanced ecosystem, if herbivores are allowed to over populate they will degrade the ecosystem so the carrying capacity is lowered. Wolves generally go after the easiest prey, the injured, the old, sick, weak and young so the population is kept in balance. Wolves also ensure the strongest individuals survive resulting in a healthy strong gene pool. Man, however, does the opposite going after the strongest most fit individuals resulting in less genetically fit animals. Man is degrading the gene pool through trophy hunting, notice how antlers are becoming smaller and animals are becoming smaller and weaker with time.
