Got the game, just started myself. And found out a way to deal with a big annoyance of NPC’s who decide to OPEN THE DOORS and let monsters in.😑 Basically, Make a house for the NPCs to live in (it needs walls, a door, a table, a chair and a torch, that’s it) and make sure the there’s no doors leading outside. When you go far away off screen, the NPC will teleport to their chair and sit there. 🤔 Gonna try and come up with a visual aid. __________________ | 🏠🚪 🚪🏠| ---- == --- | 🏠🚪 🚪🏠| ---- == --- 🚪 My house 🚪 --------- The = is for 2 wooden platforms, so you can jump up to reach the NPC’s, but they can’t go outside because their doors don’t lead outside. So they can’t grief you by letting freaking night hordes in.😑 That was SO annoying.
@@Sunniiyy Yeah, a lot more, but I don't know much of anything about them except they don't show up until you fulfill certain requirements, like finding certain biomes, beating some bosses, etc. I just had a "traveling Merchant" show up, though I don't know what I did. BUT I do know (From wiki diving MONTHS ago on a whim) that there's a nurse who can heal you, and she shows up when you find your first heart crystal somewhere out there in the world. (which are used to increase your maximum health). Talking on that, just today I learned something which I think is pretty damn important. That redzone you ran into? That's called a "Crimson" biome and it SPREADS to turn other, normal biomes into Crimson version, which makes the enemies different, and harder. (There's 2 other biomes that spread, Corruption and Hallowed. I ended up starting with a Corruption Biome very close to my starting point/home base. NOT fun.) I did a quick wiki dive because there was something about how Corruption and Crimson can "Invalidate housing" whatever that means, and the VERY quick solution I found was that Sunflowers can stop Crimson and Corruption from spreading. I slapped down a sunflower on the edge of the Corruption in my world, (Because I THINK the wiki said you can't place a sunflower ON corrupted dirt) came back later, and there was a fairly big "chunk" of dirt around the sunflower that wasn't corrupted anymore. So, I'd recommend doing that so the crimson doesn't eventually reach your house, because that has all the indicators of a BAD time.
Ohhhhhhh so thats what happened with the desert, when it was grey sand and all that? Yeah bro im ngl i need sunflower asap i dont want my house like that... But anyway i love the fact we are in this together (even tho i progress a lot slower cuse i need to edit etc.) And your tips are really valuable!
@@Sunniiyy I know what you mean, though I don’t think I’ll be progressing that fast due to various circumstances. Plus, I’m gonna need to restrain myself because I tend to get excited and sperg out when I want to be helpful, but that might spoil things, sound like backseating, and maybe ruin the videos.😓 But I can at least point out some anti-frustration stuff, like ways to make grinding easier because that won’t ruin finding new stuff, I think.🤔 Example; torches. I started picking up desert torches, and cursed torches and I thought they were just cosmetic. NOPE. I checked the wiki, and if you use biome specific torches in their biome (desert=desert, cursed=corruption) it gives you SLIGHTLY better luck for a certain radius around those torches. Use torches in the wrong biome, and your luck is worse, while having a mix of both will cancel each other out. So, more likely to get good drops when running around. 2 “anti-frustration” things related to that. According to the wiki, the basic b-ch torches count as the “wrong torch” for any biome that HAS a biome-specific torch variant. (Some places don’t have unique torch types) While any kind of “colored torch” are neutral everywhere. (the fact that the basic torches aren’t also “neutral” makes NO sense to me personally.😑) Related to the sunflowers thing though, you can buy them from an NPC who will show up after the first time you defeat a boss. EDIT FINAL anti-frustration thing I just discovered. I had a chest full of crafting materials and ores right next to my workbench and other crafting stations, so I could take the stuff out whenever I needed to make stuff with it. It turns out that if I’m close enough to the crafting stations WHILE I have the chest open, I can use the materials in the chest without needing to put them in my inventory first, and put them back in the chest again when I’m done.
Ooh! New Terraria Player! Like always time to give out tips. So yeah. You need to get a lot more ore and try to find either Platinum/Gold because it's very good in terms of making armor and early game weapons. Also try to explore more of your world. Also try to see break and consume any heart shaped stones you see underground. :)) Also I saw you have a Magic Mirror. Its very useful if you want to return home fast. Just use the magic mirror and you'll teleport to your spawn point. Hope these help! If you any questions feel free to ask
