When Indian cinema attempts to create a new world instead of just producing mass commercial movies, we need to give them a chance. We can't expect a new world to be completely uninspired by previous movies right now. Firstly, Indian cinema needs to reduce the gap with Hollywood by making such innovative films. Once we have the budget and market, we can try creating entirely new worlds. It's natural for dystopian movies to evoke similar feelings and visuals, but the world-building can still be quite different from other dystopian films. Director Nag Ashwin is depicting a world exactly as mentioned in our Puranas. For example, when the three holy rivers ascend to heaven (dry up), Lord Vishnu will incarnate for the tenth and final time. So, while the basic structure of the world-building is inspired by our Puranas, some visual elements have been inspired by other sources. However, this is still the actual start of Indian cinema into this genre, so being little inspired by other movies doesn't bother me.
Exactly bro this is just the beginning. Even after earning a lot of money if they don't put efforts in part 2 then we should call them out. It's actually for the first time in Indian cinemas and literally idiots are here to destroy things.

The one thing which we need to appreciate is someone has come forward to attempt such a high concept with a never before visuals for an Indian cinema, I don't know why people become so much picky while they see such movies from Indian cinema by finding Hollywood references.
Thing is, Jawan didn't need much VFX, yet they did so much stuff that once u see the vfx breakdown only you'll understand that all these shots were actually vfx. And since they had an extremely skilled team like Red chillies they could do it perfectly. Whereas this movie is more ambitious and larger scale so obviously there would be small flaws here and there. Heck, we even find flaws in Marvel's vfx. So ofcourse there will be flaws. But as long as movie is good, people won't care

Tbh I feel you overjudged this trailer. I think you shouldn't compare this with foreign movies. As we all know...India is not capable of making masterpieces. Movies like kalki would be an example for upcoming aspiring director's movie and their vision for the movies. And this is how movies will grow and become better and better. And Yes...its a good try and we should welcome this movie. Lets see how the final outcome is gonna look. Eagerly waiting for the movie.

I read comments and realized people actually like trailer but I think we should appreciate him for making video to point out thing which is bad. It's true vfx artist done a great job but its also true that people make mistakes. I am glad he point out things which can improve and I hope vfx artist fix them or might make it more convincing . @@iambbiplabstill Godzilla's CGI model is worse and walking animation physics is so simple and cartoony but for a budget of $15M it's justifiable. Whereas kalki has good CGI and perfect cg model animation physics (eg: bujji car's ragdoll, those giant creature lifting up Banerjee chatterjee, sabertooth, etc) and for some parts in trailer like nano shields opening, holo projections of prabhas and car ejecting scene were looking like pre-rendered or concept phase scenes which may change in the final movie (as i noticed few of modified scenes from teaser to trailer). Definitely Kalki has good CGI than Godzilla minus one

In fact, the advance bookings overseas have already surpassed those of RRR, which had the biggest opening for an Indian film and i don't think its "really bad" as you claim, maybe badly edited trailer but visually its way too ambitious to be called an Indian film.

Totally agreed, this is the exact reason new experiments are degraded by the people, and these are the very same audience who criticise people on making cliche romance or horror films, when we have something which could turn the industry to a new side or level, even if it is inspired in certain ways, it's a starting point for the people who have original ideas such as it, it'll help a lot for future films and genres, even though people don't rlly appreciate the trailer ot VFX, in my opinion I would say this was way better than expected for an Indian Film.

Even flop movie Radhe shyam vfx was 10 times better than jawan. My eyes literally felt like heaven while watching radhe shyam amazing color grading and visuals. Even if the film was not accurate in the vfx department I didn't even felt it for 1 second.

Director Nag Ashwin is depicting a world exactly as mentioned in our Puranas. For example, when the three holy rivers ascend to heaven (dry up), Lord Vishnu will incarnate for the tenth and final time. So, while the basic structure of the world-building is inspired by our Puranas, some visual elements have been inspired by other sources. However, this is still the actual start of Indian cinema into this genre, so being little inspired by other movies doesn't bother me.

Thing is, Jawan didn't need much VFX, yet they did so much stuff that once u see the vfx breakdown only you'll understand that all these shots were actually vfx. And since they had an extremely skilled team like Red chillies they could do it perfectly. Whereas this movie is more ambitious and larger scale so obviously there would be small flaws here and there. Heck, we even find flaws in Marvel's vfx. So ofcourse there will be flaws. Whereas kalki has good CGI and perfect cg model animation physics (eg: bujji car's ragdoll, those giant creature lifting up Banerjee chatterjee, sabertooth, etc) and for some parts in trailer like nano shields opening, holo projections of prabhas and car ejecting scene were looking like pre-rendered or concept phase scenes which may change in the final movie (as i noticed few of modified scenes from teaser to trailer). Definitely Kalki has good CGI than Godzilla minus one

Totally agreed, this is the exact reason new experiments are degraded by the people, and these are the very same audience who criticise people on making cliche romance or horror films, when we have something which could turn the industry to a new side or level, even if it is inspired in certain ways, it's a starting point for the people who have original ideas such as it, it'll help a lot for future films and genres, even though people don't rlly appreciate the trailer ot VFX, in my opinion I would say this was way better than expected for an Indian Film.
