Some of the major costs of living include rent, utility bills, food, and commuting expenses. In this video, I'll break down the cost of every major expense and also share with you guys some of the tips on saving money as an international student.

im paying $700 for rent only and I am in Florida, and mind you, it's a shared room. i think the idea of NYC, Cali and Boston being expensive is a myth really. I'd say the majority of states and cities are expensive unless we're talking about Oklahoma, Utah, Montana ...etc.
Hey! I agree with you, it's more about the city than the state. Also, when I talked about a shared apartment in this video, I meant sharing a 2 bed with maybe 6 or more people to bring your cost of living down to $800/month in expensive cities of the US.

What about the electricity bill, water bill etc if it is not included in the rent? What is the price range for that in a shared apartment per person?
I know utilities can total about 140- 170$ a month in New York. Cost differs by city but NY is more on the high end.

That's correct! You can reduce it to around $700 if you share the apartment with more people.

Wifi plans start from ~$40. Phone lines start from $20. Some cheaper phone lines are Lycamobile, Cricket, etc.
