Great find and great reaction Don. New group to me too. It seems their debut album just came out this month, so we're right on time! I agree with you completely about the steel --- both that's hard to play (I've tried but didn't make it) and the sound. I too was not fond of it in my mid-youth when I was in the rock space, but I came back to country and now it really works for me.
These guys are local for me. They actually have a real video filmed in Castlewood for this song and its the full band version. They are from far Southwest Virginia. Glad you did this. I did suggest it but they are a full band with I think 5 members
Hi Don, you did good!!! This is a new one for me too, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The lead singer's vocals reminds me of Tyler Childers. The writing was good but it absolutely was the sparseness of the arrangement that made the song. I will definitely be heading to their channel to check out more. Now about the older artist, one I found that you have not reacted to is Webb Pierce. Webb was 1of the more flamboyant country stars of the 50's and 60's. He had a large guitar shaped swimming pool @ his Nashville mansion and a tricked out Cadillac that was on display for many years at the Country Music Hall of Fame ( and may still be ). His biggest hit was "There Stands The Glass" and my personal favorite "Walking The Dog". Igf you could add either of these or anything by Webb that you choose to the long list it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and have a great day now I'm off to check out more 49 Winchester.
@@terrywoodyyc I don't even care what song either of those two or "Backstreet Affair", " I Don't Care", "I Ain't Never" or any other one. Just feel Webb was a big enough star he needs representation. Also I already checked out the other song mentioned in the comments from these guys "It's A Shame" I liked it lyrically better than this one by I really love the musical arrangement of this one.
Love you taking a flyer on this country group you’re a part of this wave of new country music artist that I actually love to play that traditional sound of country music that we all grew up on and love to this very day
Holy mackerel that is awesome and amazing perfect pick Don love that steel guitar and words kinda put me in mind of Kid rock, truly country and I myself like this a lot
Great song with great lyrics! I would comment further however my new friend Mike Barnett said it all. Wishing everyone a great Friday and as always Don thanks for leading me to more great music!
This band breaks barriers of music. I'm happy for you that you found these guys man...this ain't coutry...its rock with a southern accent, and its the most poetic song I've ever heard
