This was very helpful, I looked on forums and they were on about intermittent issues, wiring issues, etc. When I knew my wiring was good. This video was extremely helpful and direct and simple!

thanks for the vid- i did pull out the map light tray and replaced from above, was very frustrating (you have to push in four locking tabs while prying upward) maybe someone can add a vid on removing the map light covers, your vid helped me- i also had one each on both sides under the dash ( the passenger under dash did a 1/4 twist removal for easy installation)
Yeah man, no need to rip the whole roof off your car. Just pry off the 2 bulb covers.

Was just thinking the same thing. Just grab a push pin removal tool or small flat head and cut right to the chase lol

Btw, thank you for the video, but being honest, just take off plastic cover that's over the light bulb next time. For any car (except expensive cars) like the back what you did. Very helpful Ethier way. But now I want to know how to do reverse lights!

Dude, just the same way you did the rear seat lights, same as the front map lights, just popout the caps, no need to drop the whole thing like that! And don't ask how to change the license plate lights to this guy, he will probably show a video of him removing the whole trunk lid from the car to do it on the floor LOL.
Dude I was gonna do that but to play it safe I UA-cam it first and found this video and end up breaking a bracket from the front map lights all for trying to remove the whole thing smfh!

Ok I have little bulb lights 2005 Altima-ACTUAL LITTLE BULBS…can I change them to fit these type of bulbs that you have?
You don't need to do all that to remove the dome lights it's way easier you can actually remove both covers of the bulbs with a flat head but pressing down and one side with your fingers and flicking it out at the other end with the flat head. It took me 1 minute to change both bulbs

Yes - it comes off I don’t have the car now and I forgot if it was just with a small flat screwdriver or if it had screws holding the bezel

He was completely wrong you do not have to pull that whole thing down cuz you got to be careful cuz you can break it the front part of the map lights itself come down without taking the housing completely off just where the lights are can be removed and replaced the boat

You can get red ones on amazon. But I replaced all of my interior lights with red LED - superbrightleds.com sells a kit. Just enter your vehicle information and they've got every bulb you need ready to go.

Warning, The map light instruction is not the correct procedure. I nearly broke my headliner prying it off his way and doesn’t reseat the way it should. The easy and correct way is, the center light panel pops out and then the white covers pop off from the hinge. The light is exposed and you pop it out and pop in a new one. That’s it, no pulling from the back with fingers or screwdriver

It's easier if you cut an access hole into the roof then you don't have to pop out the entire fucking light assembly
WARNING! DO NOT PULL THE PANEL DOWN! My wife watched this video and pulled the panel down, and the entire plastic frame came out with it! Now we have ruined the headliner trying to put it back together! The plastic snaps have broken off with nothing to hold the panel in place! ALL SHE HAD TO DO WAS POP OFF THE LIGHT COVERS!!!! YOU SHOULD REALLY DELETE THIS VIDEO BEFORE SOMEONE ELSE DAMAGES THEIR INTERIOR!!

You used the wrong tool. , plastic against steel is not a good combination, plastic will end up damage. If you going to mess up your plastic interior it does not pay to change anything.....

Hey, be sure to rip out your wiring harness to fix any wiring issue in the lights too.
Don't actually do this for the love of God.
This information does not apply to all years. We have a 2010 and there is a backplate assembly that makes it impossible to "pop off the dome structure using fingers. If you can get enough force to pop off the window side, it will not simply slide forward because there is an additional bracket that is held on by velcro. So, we broke the back bracket and super-glued it. It's a major pain. I'm going to investigate to see if the front lenses of the lights can simply be popped off. And I believe they can be. Can't check until the bracket glue is dry. Thank you Ojore Ledgister for mentioning this. I wish I had read all the comments before tackling this beast. Live and learn.
