Lovely fly I’ll tie some and use them on the rivers in the Austrian Alps. I like conversations and observations around the tying. Some little things like the wax on the finger a la Dave McPhail and the thread control championed also by Vladimir Oholi stood out for me. The most valuable part was about tight dubbing to give longevity before saturation and sinking. Thanks you both for taking the time.
The Found Link is popular and very successful here in Scotland especially on the Lake of Menteith during the mayfly hatch. Always have a few in my box.
Thank you for sharing this pattern. New to me so I tied some up in 14s and 16s with olive dub for the BWOs out here in CO. Looking forward to letting them run soon. Great video!
Great Instructional video. Thank you for that. I was always wondering. Do you two utilized floatant at all? If so, what do you use, if you don't mind sharing? Thank you again. Truly appreciated.
Thanks for watching. Please send any and all questions directly to Brian at the shop and he'll be happy to help/answer. You can e-mail him or call him. He doesn't monitor the comments here but works in the shop every day!
I appreciate your videos. I fish only warmwater and have changed my keys to fishing panfish. Simple is my go to anymore. I have dismissed the thought of a magic pattern. I do carry many patterns to the creek but generally fish 2 offerings. For the surface i fish a yellow craft foam spider. I am convinced thst the color matters not except for my sbility ti see it in all light conditions for these old eyes. For subsurface i tie a pattern called a Blind Squirrel. Color here does matter and squirrrel tail wing is the correct color and i tie in size 10. The smb also like this and i believe carp would eat it as well. Just none here to test that idea out. I do use many other flies at times to break up the boredom.
I realize there is knowledge and skill in tying these bugs, and I do love fishin'em, but, for me, watching someone tying'em, even Kelly Galloup, is as exciting as watching grass grow.
Would guess that 40-50% of all customers here have hats on as well. Brian has worn one every day, for 35 years, and has worn one in every video he has ever made. This is a fly shop….not a church. Very strange and rude comment.
Thanks Guys Appreciate the discussions and the details.... it never gets old !!!
Thanks for watching.
Super cool video Kelly and Brian i learned to cast off Brian's videos and tie flys off Kelly's videos my favorite ones are when you two are together

Great version of Mike Mercer's famous fly that I use here in NorCal. I love the camaraderie between Kelly and Brian too....
Thanks for being here.
Love watching Kelly tie the good stuff. Wish there were another dry fly book by Kelly, tying cripples and spinners was such a great read!

Just watching it being tied I can tell why you like it. Can I say, as a compliment, is this the modern Adams??
Thanks for watching. Certainly ranks up there with the best of all dry flies.
Is that hair wing just tied onto bare hook?
Sorry but don't have that intel here. You can call or e-mail Brian at the shop and he would be happy to answer. THanks.
This fly in a 16 would be killer on the Baldwin river in Michigan.
For sure! Thanks for being here.
It's a dry fly until it hits the water, then it's a wet dry fly!!!! LOL
Thanks for watching.

"Grandfather" of streamers. Ouch!
He's pretty ok with it. Thanks for watching.
Clue: Kelly's the one who doesn't wear a hat in the house.
All of our employees wear hats at work…..every day……and this is our house. Thanks

Don’t you have anything more constructive to do?
first!
Nice work!
Thanks so much!
