how do the details, seperation, and soundstage compare between the simgot supermix 4 and the ziigaat arete for discerning where enemies are located and how far away? looking for my first IEM and considering these two. I play fps games like valorant as well as play open world games.
I'm extremely interested in your iem and I've been looking to try out something new for a few months, but I don't know how I should feel in buying this versus something like the supermix 4. I know a few others are considering this exact comparison because of their release date. It becomes really difficult knowing that they both perform well as all-around earbuds with a gaming focus.

Now im looking for a nice fire iem mostly for gaming always !!! And secondly for music movies and editing. Just like the 560s & elites which iem are you favorite?

i was about to buy the SM4 as an upgrade to my tripowin Olina SE but now i dont know anymore, do you think the extra 100$ is it worth it for games like Escape from Tarkov?
New to the channel, does the wallhack tier list factor in price? For example are the B tier budget IEM’s on par with the B tier mid range ones? If so, how does the truthear x crinacle zero rank not factoring the cheap price??
Yea the budget tiers do cross over. The different driver configurations and tuning performance for other things though like music may still be different though. But for strictly gaming, they do cross over
hello not really related to the IEM review but just wondering if you will be reviewing any new headphones that could potentially compete with the HD 490 Pro as I am getting the itch to upgrade from HD560s but not sure if the HD 490 Pro is worth it.

Hey! I think my running list is a good start in the description! It depends what your price point is though and what you consider budget. For $20 the qkz hbb is nuts. For fifty the zero. If you can go higher the Em6l and supermix 4 are great
@@FreshReviewsYT well, I bought into the pre-order hype and got the Harmonic dyne Poseidon with their upgraded Gran Mia cable, so I can attest nice cables make you feel good. Planning to pick up these IEMs in due time!
Ok. My aretes arrived about a week ago. Here’s the honest opinion and also a theory of someone completely unconnected to fresh and tbh feels like he disproportionately acts funky with me, i.e. either ignored my questions or gives disproportionately short/dismissive answers but I still like and respect the work he does. I say all this to make it known there will be no bandwagon bias in this review. First off, the cable looks and feels like it came from a $20 set if iems and second, the ear tips are worse than the cable. Both are usable but Spinfit W1’s are great on them tho. The cable irritates me but only because black looks SOO good with them and my go to cable isn’t available in black. There’s also not a lot of black cables with interchangeable plugs. Now for the actual iems. I play warzone exclusively so I can’t speak to anything but that and music and what I can say is, these are basically my endgame iems. Imaging for me is the most important thing. Directional and distance perception=paramount. They are equal to or marginally better than the orchestra lites in directional but are more noticeably better in perceiving distance. It’s weird how they do it. I a/b’d them with the orchestra lites with a looping clip of wz gameplay with the art tune just trying to put my finger on how they do it because they don’t seem to make distant audio any quieter than the orchestra lites. They just make it sound different/slightly darker than the orchestra lites and that’s what makes it slightly less prominent/urgent but it somehow only seems to affect distant audio which doesn’t seem possible. That’s what it seems to do though and that subtle difference makes a significant difference in the ability to accurately judge how close a sound is. The tuning is completely different than the orchestra lites and while the supermix 4 is closer in tuning than the orchestra’s, they’re quite different as well. Orchs are far more technical and sm4’s are more musical. IMO, the arete is more musical than the sm4 and somehow still almost as technically viable as the orch’s albeit in a different way. The most noticeable difference isn’t in technicality though. It’s in the overall sound experience. These effing things just bring the game to life in comparison and they do it without sacrificing anything. They’re actually fun. That brings me to music. I’m a musician(rapper). Have been for EVER. I have songs with JellyRoll(Tennessee Roads) with well over a million views on yt, haystak, skinny pimp, BG from the hot boys(lil Wayne’s group), etc. these iems are great for music as well and to top it off, they’re the easiest to power iems I’ve seen so far. Orchestra lites get LOUD even on just an apple dongle. These get LOUDER. They do sub bass very well, no mud, good treble extension. It’s just been a damn good experience for everything I’ve thrown at them. Now for my theory and a few things I disagree with fresh on but with a small caveat. My opinion of all these iems comes from them being powered by a fiio k3 and an apple dongle so maybe the comparison might be different for the sm4 with a better dac/amp but fresh put the sm4 up there with the orchestra lites and not far from the arete. I understand him doing so with the arete just because he didn’t want to seem like he was shilling for his own product. He was trying to be humble. I get that but though the sm4’s are great, the orchestra lites are just better when it comes to imaging and soundstage in gaming. Locating precise locations of enemies, particularly in cod, they’re just better and I think the aretes are better than those but they’re SIGNIFICANTLY better than the sm4. This is my summary and theory. I think fresh decided that $370-$400 was the price for what he wanted to create. He wanted a yanyin cannon 2, tuned and geared more toward gaming as a priority but also really good for his music library, at a price gamers were more willing and able to pay so what he did was basically take a YC2 shell and build, take off all the unimportant bells and whistles i.e. tone switches, overkill quality cable, vast assortment of ear tips which allowed for the $250 price tag and gave it a better and more gaming focused tune without sacrificing its musicality. He basically gave u a gaming version of the yanyin cannon 2 for $150 less. It’s the same shell, same comfort(which is excellent btw) same layout, different cable and different ear tips. That’s an absolute W! These are my all rounders now. I can play my music on my phone loud AF and also have the best gaming audio I’ve experienced thus far with the same set of iems. @fresh, it was cool for u to kinda downplay these in the beginning since they were yours and to be sure your opinion wasn’t heavily biased but at this point, I think u may be doing a bit of a disservice. You’re a little too humble and playing just a hair too safe because of the optics. If the dreams are comparable to the sm4’s, they’re NOT comparable to the aretes in gaming. They’re better than the lite’s for gaming and certainly for music(for most ppl) and I think these are the best all rounder by a mile. I can’t find a weak spot anywhere. The cable is meh and the ear tips are ass but the iems are fking flawless. I gave my orchestra lites to my oldest son and my sm4’s to my youngest son. These are all I need other than a dx3 pro+. That’s my honest opinion and I’d love for anybody else who’s gotten theirs to comment below and tell me if u have the same experience and anything else you’ve noticed.
Thanks for the well thought out and long post. I try to respond to all comments. If I missed yours in the past that’s on me it’s just a lot some times 😘
@@FreshReviewsYT u can’t do it all man. Something had to be sacrificed to get that price that low. That’s a $400 pair of iems all day. The compromise was just what it needed to be. The cable and the tips. The iems have no compromises and that’s what matters. The cable ain’t bad either, the iems are just too good for it. The black looks great, but after u hear em, the thickness just doesn’t match the sound. It’s purely cosmetic and made wholly irrelevant as soon as u hear them. The tips just don’t jive with my ears at all. The texture makes it hard for me to get a good seal but I would’ve used spinfits regardless because that what I was using on my orchestra lites and I love em. I said that to say. The iems are about as close to perfection as u can get and everything can’t be perfect if u want ppl to be able to afford em. I think I made all the right choices and this is by far the best all around iem I’ve heard while also being the #1 for gaming. I really feel like this is like a cannon2 for $150 less. I no longer have the desire to continue the hunt. That should tell u everything. Like art said, W product. Gadgetry tech as well. I couldn’t be more pleased and u deserve to be proud and the pride is not bias so it’s ok to say what u really wanna say about these. They’re ABSOLUTELY worth the money and then some!
@@FreshReviewsYT no problem man. Despite how much i appreciate the service u provide for the community, If they were shit, I would’ve been just as long winded and detailed in telling u and everyone else how bad they were. I GOTTA ask tho. Did u specifically ask for the cannon shell and layout or did that somehow just happen? I wonder if that is what makes the stage and imaging so uniquely precise.
My Good sir any tips on how I would set up my Topping Dx3 pro+ to get its best performance when playing valorant? I am also using a Truthear zero (blue) as an IEM pair for it (All from your budget recommendations 😅)
Default good to go! You can play around with the filters a little but it can become a pain listening to the subtle difference. I’d leave it default plug and play
@@FreshReviewsYT for me with balanced cable from CustomCans the sound is better for music but not for say battlefield 5 where some maps have this constant sound in background,, it seems to make the base more thick and sound is more fuller, i prefer the thinner sound on battlefield since allot of sound going on at same time, i have the Aune s9c Pro but yeah for music its better with balanced cable
@@FreshReviewsYT yea the default cable is definitely thinner sounding so its easier to hear everything while allot is going on or when there's a constant humming in background like some battlefield 5 maps. The balanced cable seems to give thicker bass and more body to the sound, similar to what velour pads do. Smsl c200 was pretty bad compared to Aune s9c Pro for soundstage, specially the front and back it's night and day difference

I don’t believe the oracle was on my list.
@@FreshReviewsYT on your video "Thieaudio Oracle MK2 Review - My IEM of 2022 (Music & Gaming)", you rated it between "Raptgo Hook X" and "EJ07M" in the description's "Wallhack IEM Tier List", so became curious as to how it'd fare nowadays, especially since the Oracle mk3 is now a thing that can be bought.

I just got mine yesterday I really like them everything sounds so clear. I use them for COD and I was wondering if anyone knows how to make it to where the gun isn’t so loud it over powers the footsteps. If anyone knows I’d appreciate it. I’m on PS5 by the way if that matters. Thanks
Very hard to alter things through the controller. You could get a compatible amp dac for ps5

How long did it take you to get them?
Hey fresh. Kinda off topic but audio related. Are you going to review the STAX sr-x1? It's an affordable electrostatic headphone that's supposed to have incredible detail separation and I'm wondering how they would perform in gaming.
My buddy just got one! If he enjoys it I’ll grab it for sure
I was looking into getting the orchestra lite or the canon II. But I seen your video and I’m now thinking about getting these. Which one would you say is better overall and most comfortable? I’d stay between Arete and canon 2 and I think I like the Arete more (and it’s cheaper)
@@FreshReviewsYT thanks for the reply I just seen it. I just bought the Arete as well lol can’t wait to get them thanks again and congrats on your collab.
how do the details, seperation, and soundstage compare between the simgot supermix 4 and the ziigaat arete for discerning where enemies are located and how far away? looking for my first IEM and considering these two. I play fps games like valorant as well as play open world games.
Arete is noticeably better than the supermix 4. Both are on the list though for gaming
Ordered them, how long do they usually take to ship? Since it says pre order
People seem to get their orders within 10-15 days
I'm extremely interested in your iem and I've been looking to try out something new for a few months, but I don't know how I should feel in buying this versus something like the supermix 4. I know a few others are considering this exact comparison because of their release date. It becomes really difficult knowing that they both perform well as all-around earbuds with a gaming focus.
I think Arete performs better in game personally in apex and COD
@@FreshReviewsYT I'm gonna order them now. I'll be mostly playing apex and cs2 so I'm willing to take your word for it lol

i was about to buy the SM4 as an upgrade to my tripowin Olina SE but now i dont know anymore, do you think the extra 100$ is it worth it for games like Escape from Tarkov?
I think so
New to the channel, does the wallhack tier list factor in price? For example are the B tier budget IEM’s on par with the B tier mid range ones? If so, how does the truthear x crinacle zero rank not factoring the cheap price??
Yea the budget tiers do cross over. The different driver configurations and tuning performance for other things though like music may still be different though. But for strictly gaming, they do cross over
Thank you :)
New to IEMs and came across your channel. You are a wealth of information!!! How well will these work in Pubg.?
They’re liked by a few pros.
hello not really related to the IEM review but just wondering if you will be reviewing any new headphones that could potentially compete with the HD 490 Pro as I am getting the itch to upgrade from HD560s but not sure if the HD 490 Pro is worth it.

fresh what is the best amp/dac for sm7b and power hungry headphones/iems?? around $200?
Unfortunately I don’t know of many that can plug the mic and IEMs into simultaneously like a mixer. For amp dacs though I love the smsl c200 and topping dx3 pro+. Depending on how power hungry you’re going you may need better though. The dx3 works amazing with all IEMs though
How do these compare to kiwi orchestra lites? I main cod and would only be playing fps games with IEM’s
I think they beat the lite
Hey which budget IEM would you say is the best for fps games in a competitive level (hearing footsteps, good imaging, wall hack level)
Hey! I think my running list is a good start in the description! It depends what your price point is though and what you consider budget. For $20 the qkz hbb is nuts. For fifty the zero. If you can go higher the Em6l and supermix 4 are great

@@FreshReviewsYT that's the price here in India :(
@@skwirl865 I tried to get them to change the tips and cable but failed. 😞
@@skwirl865 haha thanks so much. It means a lot
