Fantastic video as usual MrB! Watched it live! Well done to all the members of the Armed Forces and Veterans on Parade today! Lest we Forget. The marches played were, (Band of HM Royal Marines) 1) 2:17-Soldier An' Sailor Too (Massed Bands of the Household Division) 2) 7:20-Arnhem 3) 11:12-Machine Gun Guards (Central Band of the Royal Air Force) 4) 14:47-Wellington 5) 15:59-The Acorn 6) 19:12-Strike Command March List (Band of the Coldstream Guards) 7) 25:04-The Mad Major 8) 26:57-Army of the Nile (Band of the Grenadier Guards) 9) 40:00-Action Front! @vickyRoyalHistory Hello Vicky!! The New Drum Major is James Johnston, Irish Guards. No Dan Fairley on Parade today. I enjoyed watching it live, as I always do. Bit of a shame how certain people always want to ruin it for everyone. A bit of respect towards the Veterans also wouldn't hurt. It's an Absolute shame that a national act of Remembrance has to be observed in circumstances like these. I do have to give it to the Brits though, they don't stop for Absolutely anything, they simply step over the inconvenience in style. Hope that poor veteran is doing ok. By the way Vicky I added a response on Mr.B's Something Completely Different Antique car video, regarding the Poppy Issue. unsure if you've already seen or read it. Best wishes to you and yours Vicky! Stay Safe! Send my Hellos to Mr. MOTH.
Love the sounds of the bands. Especially the footguards! They are sounding full and rich. Special shout out to the Coldstream and Scots Guards! Commendable sound. Royal Marines sounding very tight as well.
THANK YOU MR. BARTON ! The British people have so much to be proud of and their Rememberence Day ceremonies are soo beautiful, full of honor and grace ! Am so glad that You shared this with all of us🇺🇸👏🏻‼️❣️
Try and get to watch The Rememberance service from The Royal Albert Hall attended by King Charles and other Royals, it reduced my family to tears as I am sure it will do you. It is a superb though sad occasion!
Remembrance sunday, for me, is always the best part of remembrance weekend. When all the old military boys, girls and family relatives get to march past and pay their respects at the cenotaph. I can still recall a few years back when the last of the first world war veterans payed their last respects. Harry patch being the last british tommy. Now its the turn of the second world war veterans to gradually join their comrades in arms together in eternal peace. With younger ones, from other conflicts since, duly replacing them to keep this wonderful british tradition alive.
To quote Max Hastings, a RM Band is the most handsome of British armed forces bands but I’m coming round to the RAF. They set a cracking pace and their drill is smart. Have they been given new greatcoats? Might be the light or the camera but they seem more blue, less gray.
@vickyRoyalHistory I agree the RAF Coat Order is smarter than the Army’s and yes, from memory RAF wartime and post-war blue was a darker shade. In this context, I think “serge” is the material rather than the colour. I see, though, that a prestigious paint manufacturer has used “serge” as a name for one of their dark blue colours. The coats were so dense they could almost stand up by themselves. Must have weighed a ton when wet.
Mr. B! Another fascinating video of yours! I have a question to all, is it my imagination only, but does the RAF Central Band has a slightly higher marching tempo? I have seen them in recordings from Windsor guard change and they seems to march quicker?
Some tiny Corrections if I may on the fantastic information provided by Vicky! The RAF marches at 120 Paces a minute or (Beats per Minute BPM). This is their standard pace for most parades, when they take part in a Tri-service (Army, Navy, and the Air Force) Massed Bands formation the Guards take over, and everyone marches at the Guards Tempo of 116 BPM. The Royal Navy marches at 112 BPM, this includes the Royal Marines, and the Royal Marines Band service marching at 112 BPM. The Light infantry which includes The Rifles and The Gurkhas, march at 140 PBM, with Double-time being 180 BPM. The Standard British Army Marching Pace is 120 BPM. The standard slow march tempo is around 60-65 BPM. I did check the marching pace for this video with a metronome and it seems to match what I've stated. Hope this helps! Sorry for intruding on your fantastic comment Vicky!
@vickyRoyalHistory Hello Vicky!! Hope you and Mr. MOTH are doing well! It's very interesting to say the least how they teach recruits to march at 120 BPM, but most of them will never march at that tempo, unless they're in the RAF or regular infantry but, even that doesn't mean they'll march at 120 BPM. Here in the USA we use 120 BPM, although we can't march! 😄 we sort go on a sunday morning stroll. Anyways, don't get me started on US Drill. Btw not sure if you've seen the the video of the Band of the Irish Guards marching back to Wellington barracks, after taking part in the Korean State Visit. Our Friend Sgt D. Lockwood (AKA THE MAN WITH THE LUNGS OF STEEL!) put on a good show for us! The power of that Bass Trombone is enough to nock a house down! Lol A little too much?!? 🤔😁 nahhh I don't think so! Added a Link below to that video! ua-cam.com/video/z_O5WTLNHMY/v-deo.htmlsi=4W7wzwzWXXh1BmsL Stay safe! Have a fantastic rest of your week!
I have to say, though the standard of all bands are high, the Central Band of the RAF has really surprised me recently. Fantastic sound and drill. I don’t always remember seeing them this way.
I wonder if the Brit’s are still pissed off about the American war of independence, wondering if since the American Revolutionary War the people from that time passed down generation to generation about it to there ancestors today living in Great Britain.
Nah x2. Been 2 world wars since then, where you have come and helped us out. Plus my late mum always used to describe to us as kids, that the american GI,s who were based in plymouth for D day as "those nice americans". She was just a young girl at the time. They used to give her candy, sweets and stuff. There is also a monument in respect to their sacrifice down on the river tamar under the bridges where they boarded the landing craft for normandy. She also had an older relation who married a GI and went back to salt lake city with him after the war. We have far too much in common to be pissed off with each other anymore Tho it deffo is football and not soccer lol.
Nah. Its there to give us the chance to show respect to those who given their lives. So that people like you are still free to talk bollox if you choose. Just like we are also free to ignore you and your type as well. Especially at election time.

Thank you, sometimes it's nice to see the parts the cameras don't show.
Royal Marines Band is the best
Splendid 😊
Lest we forget the British/Commonwealth troops who gave their lives in the WWI

The royal Air force band marching rather quickly

McDonalds is problematic at times...
It was that terrible waste of Tea that pissed us off
@@colby25 I agree with you!!! We had our independence but we love and respect United Kingdom. My grandfather died in Normandy during that war!
Remembrance day is not there to honour the fallen. It is there for the glorification of the military.

That’s simply wrong.
What’s left of Great Britain. 😞❤️
I was there as my group leader C43. 100 Sqn.
