    This tutorial is oddly satisfying for some reason even tho I have no idea how to do those effects. You never seize to impress us xD

    Love the idea of a cosmic sinkhole, like somone pulled the stopper on the universal plug. I like how you use the runes to act like a sort of timer for the abilities windup animation. But i had an idea I wanted to share and see what you thought. I was thinking a long the lines of ryze's ult where the runes fall into the portal as it opens; but in this case maybe the runes would appear and then stretch towards the middle of the ability, then snap back when the portal opens. Kind of giving it the feel like something is pulling hard on the the 'plug' and this side of the portal is getting sucked into it right before it opens. Love the vids, look forward to more!

    Pretty impressive stuff, man! I don't even can create a simple water stream flowing out of a sewer pipe! :-D

    • @Sirhaian
      @Sirhaian  6 років тому

      Water is actually super hard to make. :p
      Magic is easier imo, cause you're 100% free to do whatever you want: nobody's gonna tell you "hey that doesn't look like magic", cause well... it's magic. :D
      But with water, everything has to look like actual water, and everyone knows what water flowing out of a pipe looks like: making some that looks good is hard. :D

      Thank you for "encourage" me! :-p I thought I may use a plane an animate an oozy texture like in undercity in WoW. Would you do this with shader forge? Offset the texture?

    • @Sirhaian
      @Sirhaian  6 років тому

      Yeah, some texture panning multiplying each others. Usually does the trick. :)

    What happens if you look from a low angle at the effect. Do you have shadercode to mask out the mesh when it is out of the borders of the effect, or can you just see the tunnel trough the ground then?

  • @TwiiK

    Looks awesome. I see this is listed as Sketch #2, but where is #1? If you don't mind me asking. :p
    Have you been able to play with Unity 5.5 yet? I imagine someone like you will be able to create some pretty slick effects using the new particle additions. :)

    • @Sirhaian
      @Sirhaian  7 років тому

      This one uses the new particle systems, actually. Mainly the noise, but it's just to get some more random directions for the particles, so it's not really relevant in this case.
      And I didn't participate in the #1, so that's why. :p

    Did you use any coding for this shader? like visual studio? or did you made this without any codes?

    • @Sirhaian
      @Sirhaian  5 років тому +1

      iirc, this doesn't have any code and the shader was made in ShaderForge. :)

    Can it be done without Shader Forge? Its costly as hell, and im sure alot of people do not have it.

    • @Sirhaian
      @Sirhaian  6 років тому

      I hate your avatar.
      And it's not really costly when you compare it to other tools. You can do it by code, but I've no idea how.

    Hey I want to recreate these but shaderforge is no longer supported in unity. What alternative could I use ?

    • @Sirhaian
      @Sirhaian  4 роки тому

      I personally use Amplify Shader. :)
      Unity now has a free alternative called Shader Graph!

    Can you make more complex tutorial on how to make this particle effect?

    • @Sirhaian
      @Sirhaian  7 років тому +1

      I don't think I will, this would take too much time. :x
      Just know that it's just a lot of planes with different shaders, materials and textures.

    • @Reddi3nCz
      @Reddi3nCz 7 років тому

      I'm interested especialy in how you used different cameras for the fixed texture. That would make awesome effects! Just look at DD2 Harbringers spells. :)
      Ty for reply.

    • @Sirhaian
      @Sirhaian  7 років тому +1

      No problem! If you want screen-fixed textures, you can use the screen position node in ShaderForge and link it as UVs of the texture. :)

    Hi, I would like to make a tunnel effect like yours but I don't understand how it works, I'm using the animator to move the offset but the result looks bad. I guess I also need a tilling texture. I notice that your tunnel is moving without animator or game running, could you tell me how you do ? Thanks !

    • @Sirhaian
      @Sirhaian  7 років тому +1

      You mostly just need to pan a texture. :)
      There's also a button that allows you to activate the animated shaders, it looks like a little frame.

    • @antoinearthur9533
      @antoinearthur9533 7 років тому

      Sirhaian'Arts thanks for your quick answer, is the texture working with ShaderForge ? I don't have it so is it possible without it ?

    • @Sirhaian
      @Sirhaian  7 років тому +1

      Antoine Arthur It is possible, but you'll need to code the shader yourself. :/

    I can be a RT tech artist without knowing about shader and programming?

    • @Sirhaian
      @Sirhaian  6 років тому +1

      Tech art without knowing about shaders and programming can be a bit difficult. I guess you could, but only if you focus on rigging, and not on VFX. And then again, it's always better to know at least a bit about prog. :p

      @zero_otr 7 років тому

      I wonder that too

    • @TwiiK
      @TwiiK 7 років тому

      What part of it? I think animating the ring from 0 degrees to 360 degrees is usually, or at least can be, done using a gradient like this i.stack.imgur.com/69yyg.png and a cutout shader and animating the cutout value over time.
