I’d say the main 3 entry level controllers are the Traktor S2 mk3, Pioneer DDJ 400 and DDJ SB3. All designed for different software so that’s something to consider researching. I think the DDJ 400 offers the most creative features however the DDJ SB3 is the simplest to get started with for beginners because of the Serato DJ lite software. The only downside is that you would have to pay to upgrade eventually to Serato DJ pro. The Traktor S2 is also a great option as the Traktor software can both be simplified but also very powerful. I would say the S2 is the most limited for performance features so it depends on how creative you want to be as a Dj. The Traktor S2 could be linked eventually with an add on controller like the Traktor F1 or X1 to give you access to all of TRAKTOR’s performance features. There honestly isn’t one answer to your question but keep an eye out for new Traktor videos coming soon. We will be doing a comparison between all 3 softwares soon too so that may help with your decision.
I got a Traktor S3 Mk3 and the crossfader now gives feedback (you can hear the other jog wheel music playing when you have the crossfader to the extreme left or right). Why is this happening? I have the curve set to sharp. Another the sharp setting in Traktor does not seem to give you the desired sound when scratching. In sharp mode, you should be able to cut the sound up with little movement back and forth. Yeah, mine doesn't seem to be doing this.

I'm using S4 MK3 on Traktor 3 Pro with a mic connected through live input in deck D. Even with the gain all the way up mic vol still way too low. Your mic level however is nice. What's your secret? Depends on the microphone you use. Microphones have different impedance and pre amps look for certain impedance. If there is a mismatch, it may sound lower. Hence why cloud lifters, dynamites etc. exist.
When I used Traktor Pro 2 and now Pro 3 with the Audio 2 interface...I can only play music through Decks 1&2. Decks 3&4 are silent. Do you have any idea why this is?
On scratch mode when I have one track playing as example ( jog A) and scratching with the other ( jog B) as I increase the volume on jog A, jog B automatically moves meaning the song is no longer stopped while holding the jog wheel platter. As soon as I lower the volume on jog A , jog B performs normal as it should when holding the jog wheel platter. Is this a problem with traktor pro 3? Mix vibe, Virtual Dj software doesn't have this problem.
Just paid for the upgrade to Traktor Pro 3 and can no longer record my mixes. None of the existing settings have changed (input, output, mix recorder), it just WILL NOT record! Absolutely infuriating. Never mind using KONTROL hardware (I still use a mixer and decks) but every time I upgrade Traktor I have problems like this. I would never fork out for the hardware for fear that I could never get it working without this kind of rigmarole.
is there a way to turn off the auto que point 1 when I load a track? this is driving me crazy .. i don't want my first que point to be where they put it... Thanks
You just need to know what kind of parts you need. There are different types of cpu, take a look that you buy one with the ending "H" "HQ" or "M" in older modells. A Cpu with ending "U" is made for energy saving and is build for Ultra Books, and ultra books are not for hard work. 8 gb ram are minimum and if you want to switch fast between tracks you definatly need an ssd...

Hi, I have Traktor Scratch Pro 2 with the Vinyls. 1. If I upgrade to 3 will it work with my audio 10 hardware? 2. I'm concerned I will lose a 200 track playlist I created which has loads of cue points marked. How do I ensure the transfer of this playlist is smooth? I hope you can help as I can't even get in contact with anyone from NI.
Answer to no.2, Ive just upgraded from Traktor Scratch Pro 2 yesterday, all of my 20,000 songs all copied over fine with cue points etc. it's a straight up transfer that happens the first time you open Traktor 3 and you even keep your old Traktor version on your computer, so if I were you I'd say upgrade
Yes, but I find big problems with NI audio devices on Windows 10. I would go another route unless you intend to use time coded vinyl or cd. Of course, if you already own the device then give it a try.

@@karigori6415 line level and mic level are two different signal impedance. If you plug a mic into line, you will hesr almost nothing.

Take a look at The DJ Conversion Utility or Rekordbuddy, both tools can help you transfer over DJ softwares

can I use Beatport with Traktor?
When key and synch button is on in traktor pro 3. Beat is not snap on, mixing a new track. If you know what i mean? Hopefully it comes in next update!

You should always aim for 320kbps tracks.. Ripped tracks will sound awful on a decent sound system.
