  • So a movie about Christopher Columbus discovering the new world was made by some Germans... Yeah, that explains a lot!

The missconception about Columbus discovering America comes from a missunderstanding of what the word "America" means.
When Americo Vespucci discovered that the New World was in fact a new continent (as in "from present day Canada to the southern Argentina"), such continent was named America. That's why it's divided in "North America" and "South America", because the whole thing is America.
(Notice that that's long before plate tectonics confirmed the continent is made of 2 separate plates).
Later, the United States of America started the trend of using the word "America" to refer to itself, while most of the rest of the world keeps using the word "America" as it was originally intended, from Canada to Argentina.
So, neither is wrong. It's a matter of semantics. Columbus discovered the continent of America, not the United States of America.
In my home country, for example, we call the whole continent "America".

When I saw the part where Columbus thrusted the horn from his dill during the dream sequence, when tell you I had to REWIND that shxt 😳😮‍💨💀. Yes there's PLENTY to talk about from this horny mess of a movie, like how thicc the "woodworm" was, how Columbus should've been dead when the crew hung him for MINUTES, how the Queen and Columbus were literally hittin' on each other infront the jealous King 🤢🤮, how HUGE the rats were, etc.

In reality, it is bad because children need moments of silence because it teaches them patience and atmosphere.

Musical Hell’s Diva explained this. Apparently there are two official English dubs and one followed the script more and had less filler lines and no recognizable names in the cast and not so good sound editing and then there’s this one that had big names lending their voices who were told to just ad lib whatever into the movie that had better sound editing. The ad lib version seems to be the one that can be found more often and the one people are more familiar with. Musical Hell put out their own review of this disaster around the same time this video came out.

It's an adult fantasy movie from Alfonso Cuaron (Yes, THAT Alfonso Cuaron.) that takes place just after the Fascists took control of Spain in the nation's civil war under dictator Francisco Franco, where a girl who is the reincarnation of a dead princess from another world has to escape from the evil world.

Like, from what I heard, they find violence in media worse than sex in media and people tend to treat sex and nudity as just a part of life. Seems healthier than treating it like an inherently life changing thing that should be saved for marriage, that's for sure.

The only thing that’s holding it back is that ties to much to American History and Christopher Columbus instead of being its own identity and its own separate universe, but there’s so little they could fix with the movie that’s already been made like the awkward moments of the animation and the lip syncing animation.
