      In the near future, we'll be doing the phase 1 head to head rides against the CT143 bikes and then do the phase 2 mods to the WR. I'm really wanting to know how the bike rides with better suspension......

    But what about the green ct125 with the 165

    • @TeamDNFracing
      @TeamDNFracing  Рік тому +2

      Plans were to buy a 2023 model CT125 in green. Honda made an engine change for 2023 and there just aren't the hop-up parts available for that engine right now in Thailand. I still wanted a designated bike for riding off road and this Yamaha fits that niche just perfect. Probably better than the CT125 would have. I'm still riding my CT on trips on pavement and in the trails and hills, but the Yamaha will be doing the really nasty stuff that was hard on the CT. Once I have it set up the way I want it, it will rip...... I might even take it off of a "Sweet Jump" ala Napoleon Dynamite......

      Thank you, I really do like this bike. It will be pretty sweet once I get through with it also. In June we will be installing the Ohlins suspension. I've already gotten the rear shock and am just waiting on the Ohlins front fork kit. Should handle even better than it does now. In late July, we will be taking it to a shop that specializes in the WR engine mods and pump up the ponies to at least a 185cc, but could possibly go on up to the 200cc kit. That one requires a new crankshaft with a longer rod. Not really sure I want to split the cases..... Cost will probably keep it to a 185....

      The bike handles things just fine, but the rider needed to do a better job of setting the bike up for Thailand. I've got it there now, so future rides after that first one are and will continue to be pretty good....

    Don't blame that injury on me! Can't wait to rip the WR

    • @TeamDNFracing
      @TeamDNFracing  Рік тому +1

      Oh Sam, but it is your fault. If you were a slower rider, I wouldn't have had to go so fast to stay in front of you. Normally when I hit the trees with my handle bars, I'm going so slow that it doesn't hurt, but just trying to stay up with you puts a bit of pressure on a short fat old man and like they say "shit happens". Na, just kidding, we both know that the bamboo can make bounce you into things as well as stop you dead in your tracks..... As for ripping the WR, plan on doing a head to head video with El' Diablo and The Bull. You can park your rental bike at my shop and we'll go up Hells Trails on my two bikes.... You'll really like the WR when I get it all done......

    was wondering how long that would take just return the yamajama get a klr and be done with it

    • @TeamDNFracing
      @TeamDNFracing  Рік тому

      I've never owned a Kawasaki and probably never will. As for the KLR, I'm not looking for that big of an engine on a bike and definitely don't want the weight associated with the KLR. I wanted the Honda CT125 Gen 1 bike and Honda had to change the engine which is why the 2023 is the Gen 2 CT. Plans were to put some really good suspension and a 185 cc BBK on it. Next best thing, stay with what I've owned and know, Honda, Yamaha or Husqvarna. Can't get the Honda CRF 150L here in Thailand and Husqvarna is also not available. So, I bought the Yamaha WR 155R. I will make it do what I want to do here in the Thai mountains. Solid bike, just a bit to heavy.....

    Do they offer the XT250 Yamaha in Thailand?

    • @TeamDNFracing
      @TeamDNFracing  Рік тому +1

      I have not seen any XT250 Yamahas here at all, I'll do some more checking around, but I really don't think they do. The bike my wife said I should buy was the SR 400 Yamaha, but I had just sold my Triumph 900 Street Twin and really didn't want another road only bike.... I've never seen and XT Yamaha here and I've been living here for 10 years now.......

    Cool bike. Yamaha builds good stuff. I wish my 17 XT250 had the 6 speed trans (changing to a one tooth larger countershaft sprocket helped). Looking forward to the new adventures with the Yamaha.

      There will be a mix of both bikes in the videos as I plan on doing multiple Head to Head rides. They will take some time to shoot as I can only ride one of them at a time.... Looking forward to the comparisons.....

    Glad to see the cameo appearance of Daniel at the dealer. This is pretty tough news though, as I don't think the WR 155 is available in the USA, so it will be a bit hard to follow along with the build progress. I do think it is a good choice though for you as it seems like it will match your riding style better than the CT. Ride With Warro was the first English speaking guy on UA-cam to get a CT125, and he quickly developed a large fan base of people interested in the CT125. That faded a bit when he drifted off into Royal Enfields, and then another bike, then another, and so on. I hadn't looked at his channel in more than a year, once he lost interest in the CT125, but today I see he has 35K subs. I think you will pick up a new batch of subs, once the word gets out about your new bike. I'm predicting over 5K subs by the end of the year, maybe sooner.

      We have some big plans to do Head to Head comparisons with the CT's against the three phases of the WR. We just got back from a ride on Wednesday with four of the CT's both the Gen 1 and Gen 2 bikes. The twisty mountain terrain we were in just shows how the CT needs more power still and even though we changed the gearing on the Gen 2 bikes, they struggled with the steeper terrain while the two Gen 1 bikes tackled the twisties quite easily. Good news from one of our subscribers that bought the same pipe that Robert and I have on our bikes and installed the pipe on his stock Gen 1 CT. It did increase his power output and he is really happy with it. We'll be passing this info on to Murazaki Shop as they are the ones who supply the pipes on mine and Roberts bikes. We really need to get them to build the pipe for the Gen 2 CT as the head pipe configuration is different for the two Generations of CT's. Lots of good stuff still planned to come out on videos Vaughn, we won't quit what made this channel, we'll just keep pushing the envelope in making our bikes better. To bad the US can't get the Yamaha WR, but all of SE Asia gets them and this should open up the English speaking public to the WR in SE Asia..... If not, I'm still going to have another awesome bike to ride.....

    Hi! I’m curious if you added risers when you replaced the handle bars? Also, do they sell the TW200 in Thailand?
    Since I’m short (and old!) that’s going to be my next and probably last bike if I can find one here in the states. Thanks!

    • @TeamDNFracing
      @TeamDNFracing  Рік тому +1

      I did not add risers, the Renthal bars set about half an inch taller and wider. Both I wanted and the bend sets them back a tiny bit, another personal feeling that the Renthals accomplished. I've run those bars for a long time, just used to them I guess......

    The first bike I bought in Thailand was a Yamaha 225 Mountain something. I can't recall back 16 years too well. The Yammer was a good bike but I was still nervous about riding here then as all my instinctive reactions were backward after a lifetime of street riding in the States. It was also so tiny on me. Because of that, I didn't get a lot out of it so I gave it to my son-in-law. He may still have it but I haven't seen it around since he bought a CT125 a couple or so years back.

      Oh, I'll never get rid of my CT, I like riding it to much, but some of the stuff we try to ride in, the CT just can't do some of it. Got some more plans for the CT also, like if the suspension I'm putting on the WR works way better than the stock suspension, I may just be putting Ohlins suspension on my CT. What I've got on there now is better than stock, but not much better. However, I did get the rear Ohlins shock installed on the WR and the improvement over stock was scary smooth. If the Ohlins will do the same for the CT, it will get a set on it.....
