- A Sonic themed Adventure Playground has opened in Brazil for what seems to be an early start to Sonic's 30th Anniversary celebrations.
And apparently adults can use it too! Oh boy.

Well, I have lots of stuff to talk about Sonic here in Brazil.
1) I've made some videos with my Sonic plushies when the Olympic torch came to Brazil in my town. So we all can see both Sonic and Tails chasing the olympic torch.
2) I also explored lots of turistics spots with sonic plushies here in Brazil and I recoreded it.
3) I also went on a similar Sonic themed park here in Brazil for the Sonic movie lunch also hosted by a shopping center. I also recorded it.
4) There are tons of Bizarre Sonic toys and bootleg merchandising being sold here in Brazil because it is VERY hard to import official sonic stuff that is not clothing or game related.
5) There was a Brazilian Sonic soda for Sonic movie, also a Brazilian Sonic ice cream.
6) Lots of people gave Sonic free hugs in the streets of Curitiba.
That genuinely looks awesome, I’d pay to go ther- Wait, I can.

Dude thank god, Roger Craig Smith was a bad fit for Sonic for the LONGEST time, like seriously, 🤨
They found the perfect VA for Sonic then they just dropped Jason for a more **convenient** voice actor (Roger)

@@Dinoman210 Jason was just a cheap replacement for the TRUE modern Sonic VA, Ryan Drummond! They couldn't afford to keep Ryan on so they hired Jason instead. But honestly no other Sonic VA can compare to Martin Burke from the OVA, if they made the games more cartoony he would've been the best hands down!

He improved but I was severely turned off by Sonic as a character when Colors was released...
His best role was Sonic Boom, the only Sonic related thing where Roger was able to voice perfectly....

Some things I noticed at 4:59, sega doesnt use that sonic logo, they use the sonic solo word yeah, but never in that styling. Also the start screen seems to be fanmade. Im starting to believe this isnt very official. Still impressive nonetheless!

@@messymariobros7027 There's a lot of faults to Sonic Adventure in general. I admit to myself that I genuinely enjoy the game purely because of nostalgia. From a non-nostalgic standpoint, there is a lot to criticize. They tried to do a little bit of everything (racing, slots, combat, then general adventuring), and unfortunately I find the execution to be poor. It was an ambition game.
@@mongoosecavern Definitely nostalgia based. When I was 4 yrs old in 1999 seeing the intros and gameplay, it did blow my mind. Made me a permanent Sonic fan. Although the camera angles and glitches (in the DC version) do make it slightly unbearable to play through, I’ve yet to find a sonic story so ambitious and perfect for these kind of characters. They took a 2d game franchise and created unique storylines, unmatched level layouts and pretty darn good music for It’s time. It might be outdated, but nothing can take the impression it made on me seeing Super Sonic battle Perfect Chaos with ‘Open your Heart’ blasting in the background. Good times.

Brazilian here. I didn't went to this mall, but this kind of stuff is quite common around here.
Also, most of time they are bootlegs. Though this looks ACTUALLY very well made, I wouldn't be surprised if this is unofficial.

Holy shit, i actually was visiting that mall when the playground was open, it was full of kids, also, from what ive seen, the arcade cabinets play the megaplay versions of Sonic 1 and 2

Ah yes, people around here love Sonic. Shoppings tend to do these attractions in the center of the place where sometimes it's a live piano play, sometimes it's a little Santa train ride and sometimes something like this can pop up, heck, one time they even made it a large ice skating area.

Okay separate comment from my previous one, the arcade cabinet looks like a fighting game arcade cabinet so....im curious if it is a Sonic the Fighters arcade cabinet!
I went back there to look at it and all of the cabinets are loaded with Sonic Mania and modern LED TVs, don't know if there is any official arcade release of this game or if regular consoles were converted into cabinets (more likely).
a lot of bogus arcade cabinets in brazil have fighting button layouts even if its not just fighting games, mostly just multigame cabinets
There's a reason Brazil has some of the steepest death rates for covid... and while it may not be because of playgrounds, maybe opening a new, indoor playground isn't the best idea right now. ...In fact, it's probably the opposite of what they should be doing in Brazil. But that's just my opinion.
The most part of Brazil REALLY like Sonic and there's a lot of reasons of why!
Here, we had a lot of Sonic cartoons dubbed that kids watched when they were kids, like Sonic Underground, Sonic X and others! Brazil TV channels really like to repeat cartoons, so Sonic shows air a lot of times in TV to present days!
Also, SEGA do have a lot of advantage here because their consoles were a lot cheaper than Nintendo's! So in early times, there was a lot of Mega drives and Master Systems here in Brazil, together with the exclusive Tectoy consoles and DVD players that had the "gaming mode". SEGA was basically one of the biggest gaming companies here in Brazil.
Heck, this thing still sells a lot here.

I will love to play on that playground, heck if there is bigger playground of this for all ages, boy I will definitively go there.
I immediately see many differences in the artwork such as mixing classic Sonic style artwork and early modern Sonic style artwork (I can tell that the Sonic is from the cover of Sonic Rush Adventure). Though the mixing classic Sonic with modern Sonic artwork does make me raise my eyebrows, but overall appearance isn't bad and looks like effort was put into it.

I thought that was the Adventure and Advanced art style, but also counts as Rush too. I think Sonic X was based off the Adventure art style. But man, if it wasn't for the pandemic, I would LOVE to go to Brazil to see this for myself while I can!

Unfortunately, this mall seems to be in Espírito Santo, which is a little too far from my location (São Paulo), so...
And going by those mall playgrounds, it doesn't seem like this would be open in other locations.

Hello, I'm Brazilian, but I Need to say, Everyone don't likes sonic so much, who likes sonic is a rare person, because the rest is all a fan of Nintendo, or just like Funk Brazilian Music and thats it.
I already wanted to go to Brazil for one of those TecToy SEGA Master Systems, that Sonic collection where they fixed the "Press Start Button" bug, and now this. That's 3 for 3 baby, where's my passport?

it's cause the sega genesis was the most popular console in Brazil well into the 2000's. They even 'ported' and made new games for it to run on a Sega Genesis. It has to do with Brazil's trade laws iirc; Sega let Toytek manufacture and distribute Genesis solo, whilst every other console has heavy taxes levied against them when importing. Making the Genesis their version of the Wii: affordable.
