I choose to believe the story of Noah’s Ark. First, nothing is impossible with God. I don’t believe it’s literally true but we’ve been taught enough to understand Noah’s Ark as a metaphor for our Church. I believe that enough scientific evidence exists to have such an event occur. We don’t have to take every word as literal fact, but so much of the symbolism of the story is a foreshadowing of our modern Church. As you and your brothers have taught us Fr. Chris, the center aisle of a church is called the nave, (Latin-navis ship); there’s the water and the wood. We can’t overlook the foreshadowing! These days our ship is navigating rough waters but it was you or Father Don, I can’t remember, who reminded us if we jump ship because of all the foul smelling animals, we’ll surely drown. May God bless all who serve in the military, especially our own naval chaplain Fr. Matthew MIC.

In 1998 in British Columbia, it rained for 40 days and 40 nights on the west coast. (The reason my husband moved to Hawaii where we met, married, were baptised, confirmed and are now members of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Wailuku, Maui.) So, the rain brought in at least 2 new members.

The Bishop stated the reasons for the lack of faith, but wouldn't dare say that we should go back to how it used to be. That would probably get him demoted.
Yes, I agree about bringing back communion rails and stop receiving the Body and Blood on our hand, but go back to receive on our tongue (only the consecrated hands of the priest should touch the Body of Christ!)
Also, women wearing veils will be more solemn and respectful when in attendance at Mass !!!

Father can you do a short video of exact where when during the mass that the bread and wine become the body and blood of Christ . Someone tells me it depends on which rite (Latin or Novo or other rites of the church) the belief of where and when the trans-substantiation occurs is different. Is it true? But I thought it should be the same at the point where the priest says Christ’s words “ this is my body… this is my blood…” as taught in the catechism book and she said catechism only applies for Latin rite not for other rites! I’m confused! please father enlighten us and clear our confusion. Thank you in advance father Chris.

Hmm... doesn't work for me.
Genesis says
"I establish my covenant with you: Never again will all life be destroyed by the waters of a flood; never again will there be a flood to destroy the earth.”
If the original flood was simply a local flood then we still have local floods that destroy people and the earth that the water floods. So did God lie? Or was the flood truly catastrophic and destroy all living things on all the earth rather than just the local foods we see today.
I thought the Bible was a "you either believe it all or you cant believe any of it" kind of book. It would seem part of the problem we have in the world is picking and choosing what we believe and what we dont. Didnt you say in one of your talks that thats how we ended up with 40000 different religions? I am confused now.

I love your videos and most are very helpful. But, there are time when you take the modernist approach, such as this one. The most obvious logical flaws are, (1) if the global flood was only regional, why did he tell Noah to build an ark, rather than move to another location or higher ground? The waters would have never reached them. (2) if it was not a global flood, why was it necessary to put a male and female of each kind (family level, i.e. canine rather than wolf, fox, and golden retriever)? Those animals would have also survived without being on the ark. (3) If we can simply choose not to believe it because it is not true, what other parts of scripture can be simply ignored? (4) I once saw a video of yours saying that Hindus can go to heaven by being a good Hindu. Muslim by being a good Muslim, etc., etc. That is completely against scripture when our Lord and Savior said that no one gets to the Father except through him. By your logic here, we can simply reinterpret what our Lord and Savior said, because we find it hard to believe or understand. (5) Why would God have the faithful be misled for nearly 2,000 years? Wouldn't that be lying in itself? Please reconsider your position. Is it possible that you were taught by someone that had modernist inclinations in seminary? I know you are a wonderful priest and have a string desire to save souls. I have prayed for you and I wish you the best. Please do not take this in a negative way, I simply ask you to reconsider taking the Word of God literally. PS There is a lot of science backing up the creationist and biblical world view, including the occurance of a global flood.
Father last thing, I think you are doing a great thing by explaining the faith. I am very grateful to have run across you almost 2 years ago.
