@@candicraveingcloude2822 it actually does make sense. the "stereotypical family" of a son, a daughter and two loving parents is referred to in academia as the nuclear family. so "he comes radiation" is basically a jab at the whole nuclear family dynamic and archetype. hope that helps :D

The 1st half of "Suburbia Overture "Love me Normally" and "Outliers and Hyppocrates" are my favorite songs. I wish there was more falsetto in the album
I thought the “story” was about a utopia town slowly delving into chaos. At first it’s hidden, before fires, explosions, death on the news. And it’s all around you. And the end is someone dying wondering why things could’ve stayed like before.
Mini story I used the lyrics context clues to make: It's basically just a "normal" suburban town full of white, straight, christian, nuclear families. Blonde, blue eyed children and perfect faced parents. None of them ever have any drama, trauma or struggles in lifr, nobody has ever had a divorce, and some families host barbeques every weekend. Secretly though, they're all cannibals. This is because of a culture theyve built after being sectioned off from the real society for so long. A lot of adultery and eating brains happens in this culture. The brains they choose to devour come from outsiders, and if the outsiders have children they use the organs from them to make sweetbread.
when i watched “what did i do” and Will Wood mentioned that “the most things that people don’t talk about when it comes to 80’s nostalgia is the 50’s nostalgia” this song made much more sense. The references to the Cold War and American suburbanization are much clearer.
I played this song for my friend and when it got to the (vampire) culture part I said, 'doesn't it sound like a villain song' my friend responded with, 'yeah, it sounds like the boogie man would sing it' And then after the song was over they said, 'I like the piano boogie man' and I just thought that was funny.
