After six years, still rescuing us... Thank you!!! 💝💖
The part where this instructional video outshines all other TWSBI disassembly videos is the explanation about the piston positioning. This has got to be the first one I've seen that explains just what the heck is happening, and how to fix bad piston spacing in a clear and concise manner.
I have the same opinion. I was struggling to get the piston correctly placed and this video explained it so precisely. Thanks @jetpens
Oh my god thank you so much, I disassmbled mine for cleaning for the first time, the end cap fell off, and it was a puzzle I could not solve to get it back on...
So i hit google, found your vid, and now my pen is all back in one piece, thank you
Same problem ( and I thought I had broken the pen), same solution 😃
This video was THE BEST and MOST HELPFUL video I have ever seen on disassembling and reassembling a TWSBI ECO! Thank you!!!!
This was hugely helpful, thank you. I just took apart one of my Ecos for the first time and I'd backed the piston assembly off too far, causing all the parts to come away. I was really struggling to get it to reassemble correctly so after a frantic search I found this video. It's fiddly but the tip about lining up the end cap only a certain way down the threads is what saved the day. Argh!
100% was just in the same dilemma myself just a few mins ago.
I have the exact model. I did the cleaning without following the proper way to disassemble and had such a hard time to put the pieces back together then I laughed so hard afterwards. NOW I KNOW WHAT THE WRENCH AND THE BOTTLE OF LIQUID WAS FOR!
I always watch this video before disassembling any of my TWSBIs. Thank you for such an instructive (and calmly narrated) video.
Thanks for the video! I had dropped my pen and needed to realign the piston and this video gave me the knowledge to accomplish that task.
Thank goodness for this video! I accidentally pulled apart the whole pen and had no idea how to get it back together. THANK YOU!
Oh dear God, thank you. Thought I'd broken the damn thing! Super clear and easy video, much appreciated :-)
Same! 😊
same.
I continually had a loose end cap when reassembling my pen. This helped me understand where I went awry! Thank you!!!!
OMG... Rreassembling was tough, my lime green colored cap wouldn't adjust properly.this lady is too good in explaining.
i cannot express how much i appreciate this video...THANK YOU 😭💛
Thank you so much for your video! I had no idea what was wrong with my pen. It turns out I was assembling it wrong, and had never used the silicone grease. I'm happy to be able to use my Twsbi pen again.
I tried this earlier in the year and had a gap forever then tried it again just now and it worked.
Thank you, JetPens, and I will never unscrew this thing again.
Thank you for this video. I watch this every time I have to take my Eco apart! You’re a lifesaver.
Gosh thank you so much for the help with the end cap! That little trick about the threads was exactly what I needed!
Great demonstration with clear commentary covering all possible issues, thank you.
Thank you for this video. I have used it several times over the past few months. ❤
Thanks for a wonderful video. Like other commenters, I took apart my Eco and whole mechanism came apart. I freaked out, then tried unsuccessfully to put it back together but couldn't get the piston properly located. What a frustrating experience. First I had it too close, then the gap was too big. But I preserved and finally got it right! Thanks for the rescue. I can't even imagine doing this with my Draco, as you can't see the location of the piston. I don't anticipate ever taking that apart, even though it comes with a fancy metal wrench!
Hi! Keep doing what you’re doing! I’m obsessed with you after my first order!☺️
Simple, complete and straightforward. Thank you for this great video!
THANK YOU for this video. So easy to follow after a frustrating half hour trying to figure out how to reassemble this thing on my own.
So useful! My pen was out of commission for months because I couldn't figure out how to get the endcap properly spaced. Thank you.
this was perfect. worked like a charm and was very clear and thorough thanks
Thank you so much! I was changing my ink when the mechanism fell apart and didn't go back together right. This was so incredibly helpful!!!!
This is the only actually helpful video I could find - thank you!! I accidently unscrewed my endcap and couldn't get it back on. JetPens video was the only one I found that showed in detail how to properly space the endcap and the piston 3:26 and even added some troubleshooting for us! Bravo, JetPens! Thanks again!
Thank you! I took it apart and spent waaaay too much time trying to figure out how to put it back together. This video made it so much easier.
Your voice is so calming!!!
Thank you! You solved my puzzle after I took it apart for cleaning!!!
Thank you so very much for this video. I had accidentally disassembled the piston mechanism in a pen much more exprensive than a TWSBI. Your video helped me to put everything back together again and make it work. And to my surprise I could even use the TWSBI wrench.
Thank you so much! You saved us. We were desperate not being able to reassemble our ECO.
This was helpful. Had to get a new barrel from TWSBI after mine developed a crack. Putting the wrench on the right part of the piston is an easy to overlook step.
Cracked my barrell and TWSBI kindly sent me a replacement, so I had a complete dissassembly of my eco, I could not have managed it without your helplful guidance, especially with the warning on where you might go wrong, which, of course, I did, huge thanks for the second time.
Agreed. This was a life saver - i just bought mine and tried to follow the super basic instructions it came with - it sucks. I disassembled it accidentally without realising what i was doing. Followed this to put back together again, then refilled and worked completely normal again. Thanks!
God thank you so much i was affraid i would never get it back together !
Thank you for posting this excellent video. It is very clear and tells me everything I need to know....except for how to get the nib and feed off. I think I can just pull those out. Thanks again!
Thank you JetPens! Much appreciated.
THANK YOU. The first time I cleaned it, I put the cap on after inserting the piston. Now I see everything I did wrong. Thank you - I would never have been able to get it working normally again! This is going on my bookmarks bar so I never lose it.
Thank you! Your video was exactly what I needed, I would say it is PERFECT!
Thank you. This video is perfect. You guys are the best.
Thank you so much for this video. I was terrified to disassemble and reassemble my TWSBI ECO after accidentally knocking the piston out of alignment by screwing end cap too much. The detailed execution of this tutorial was perfect.❤
Thank you for these instructions! Very helpful!
Thank you for this video. I thought I had broken my pen, but now it's working perfectly. Much appreciated!
Excellent video, with very clear explanations. Thank you!
This worked like a charm!!! Thank you so so so much for posting this video!!
Excellent instructions. Much clearer than the diagram in the box!
Thank you so much. Did this and now I will hopefully be able to use my favourite pen again
I stopped using my pen because of this glad it was so easy to fix!!
Thank you so much for this video. I have the same pen and I love it but could never get it back together after cleaning. Thank you sooooo much!!!!
This video really saved me. I thought I broke my TWSBI mini because the bottom came off while I was filling it with ink and I couldn’t figure out how to fix it. These tips were so thorough and helpful. I can’t thank you enough. 😭
Thank you for this video! This was so helpful!
Very nice demonstration and explanations. Thank you for the information. ♡
Very, very clear instructions. Thanks!
Excellent instructions! Thanks
While the video on Twsibi's site attempts to help with this process, yours is far better. Well-done.
Basically just the same as Jane Grafham below ----- thanks so much. I had to use the vice in the garage and a pair of tweezers before I righted my previous wrongs ... ALL GOOD NOW
This is a lifesaver. Thank you!
very helpful and nice and straight to the point - thank you.
FINALLY I got it. Thank you!!!!!
This video was Very helpful for me.
Thanks 🙏
Excelente video. Gracias.
I have followed other video guides on the disassembly of the Eco and they were nowhere near as clear and understandable as yours, thanks for your great work.
My Eco was badly stained as a result of using Diamine inks, it is now clean and shiney.
Thanks again
Diamine ink is bad for twsbi :/?
Thank you, this is much more useful than TWSBI's own instructions!
OMG, thank you so much. My son had played around with it and I could not figure out how to fix it. With this video, it was a breeze!
Thank you so much, very useful and clear explanations. the manual is a bit short on those points.
So useful, thank you 🙏
This really helped me my pens get so dirty!
THANK YOU! ΕΥΧΑΡΙΣΤΩ ΠΟΛΥ
Thank you! I thought I had busted it and couldn't close the gap where the wrench goes! All fixed!!!
wow super super helpful… thank you sooo much
Thanks for the clear instructions! :)
Thank you!! You saved my sanity.
Had to watch over and over to be sure but thank you for this video! I was able to put my twsbi back together. Whew!
Very helpful! Thank you!
Thanks for this. My beloved TWSBI Eco locked up on me after the last cleaning. I found another video that helped me get the piston unstuck, and this one helped me get it back together again. It's now working perfectly.
Hoorah!
My Precision is long overdue for a greasing; thank you so much for this video! Unfortunately, I filled it with ink before I realized it was kinda stuck, so it's gonna be fun to clean...
Thank you, very well done video, especially to correctly position the piston inside the pen after disassembly! :-)
Superb. Very useful video
Thank you!! Saved my pen 😍. My screw got stuck inside! Had struggle with the ends and pull everything out 😂.
Very good video.
Be blessed for this 😁
thank you!
Thank you. 😊
I have an ECO, it writes okay and costs 30 dollars.
I BOUGHT 9 LANBITOU PENS for 17 dollars (all basic (different) colors). They have the "red" top of the cap and look 98 percent of a TWSBI. They write just as well and even of only 5 wrote well that's 3 to 4 dollars per pen meaning I got 5 pens for 15 dollars as opposed to 30 dollars for one pen.
BTW, Hong dian 1843 (not on Amazon or anywhere else, but on Ali express) was 5 dollars a pen and they write better than a TWSBI and are all metal. They may be thin for some (I thought so) but I (you) will get used to it and it writes real smooth.
Pens, especially the "plastic" pens shouldn't cost more than 15 dollars unless you have a gold nib.
God Bless brothers and sisters.
I have followed your reasons and you are right. There is no point in getting any more ink in it. Thank you.
takes some practice but damn you nailed it thank you so much
Thank you! Where do I send flowers. You totally saved my sanity. Easy, once you know how.
Thank you so much! Tried to learn this on my own and cracked the poor thing slightly.
Thanks a lot!
Thank you very much😢
Thank-You!! 😅😅😅
👍thank you!!!!!
thanks, mine felt like it needed greasing out of the box. the instructions helped me get everything apart, but I didn't keep the end cap/piston mechanism as one section and couldn't figure out how to get it all to go back together.
My end cap won't screw past the end of the threaded section even before I put the piston in place, and I don't know why. This started happening before I ever disassembled the pen and I thought it just needed some grease, but even after greasing it it won't screw down properly. Any suggestions for how to fix this?
Thank you 8
Now how do you get the cap clean on the echo? It seems to be forever stained where the nib hits the ring inside.
How do I get the piston unstuck? I managed to put together the connector, screw bolt and end cap but the screw and piston remained inside the pen. Please help. Thank you.
Please do a video, disassembling the Twsbi 580 ALR. I’d like to hear discussion about the type of grease that goes on the piston rod.I know that it takes bearing grease. It looks to be white and creamy. I know that you’re not supposed to remove the existing grease, but I still want to see it done. Thank you jet pens
Allan
Thanks for your suggestion!
Very neat and clear. Now, can a Twsbi be converted into an eyedropper that you fill from the rear? Please, show us. Thanks.
It might be possible, but we wouldn't recommend it. For example, turning the knob counter-clockwise on a TWSBI ECO extends the piston while turning it counter-clockwise removes it. If you removed the actual piston mechanism to turn it into an eyedropper, the "lock" between the two positions is not very secure, so it's possible to twist off the knob completely. The last thing anyone wants is a pocket full of ink!
If you really want to convert a TWSBI into an eyedropper, you can try removing the piston mechanism and replacing the knob portion only, then filling it from the nib-side with a blunt syringe. However, the ink capacity wouldn't improve by an extraordinary amount (perhaps a ml or two).
