Starting to build a solar shed | Off-grid Homestead in Central Portugal

- This week I did a lot of small things. I planted my first tree on the land and figured out some cool lighting for the small barn. I also got started on building a shed for my solar components!

Love what your doing, looks amazing.Just a suggestion you could make a cutting board to fit over one of your sinks( removable) to give you more work bench space.
Love the ambient lighting in your tiny home. It looks so cosy bow even with a storm. And the morning light that floods through the window is stunning. Looking forward to seeing how your shed works out. I enjoyed the longer video

Hi Goncalo, you could use a long Auger Drill bit to pre-drill a hole in the ground before dropping the pole supports in. It makes it a lot easier. Another great video, the lighting looks really cool. Looking forward to the next one. 😊

Até mesmo os estrangeiros Ingleses ,Americanos, franceses, alemães, holandeses etc etc… Serão bem vindos temos muitas casas para recuperar no interior do nosso país que está a ficar deserto sem gente
Eu sigo uns 50 aqui no youtube (quase todos estrangeiros) que o estão a fazer, e é incrível o potencial que as casas têm. Para quem trabalha em home office ,seria uma excelente alternativa, Internet é geralmente bastante boa, segundo eles.

São pessoas que nós precisamos .
Aqui na região tem muitos ingleses eu gosto da maneira de ser deles a maioria são trabalhadores renovam as casas e mantém a arquitetura portuguesa .
Movimentam a economia local espero que o nosso governantes facilite a legalização a este tipo de pessoas que compram casas nas nossas aldeias do interior sobre tudo os ingleses que eles agora estão fora a União Europeia e também os americanos.
Quanto á internet 🛜 hoje Portugal tem uma boa cobertura quase por todo o país desde fibra a 4G 5G mas também nos lugares mais remotos pode optar por starlink talvez fique um pouco mais caro mas para um nômade digital penso que não haverá problemas…
Espero que os nossos jovens vejam estes vídeos que vocês todos fazem e comecem a olhar com outros olhos as nossas regiões do interior do país que tem muito potencial ao invés de emigrar para outro país …

Obrigado! É isso mesmo, há muitos espaços com imenso potencial que estão a cair ao abandono. Acho que é algo que está a mudar! Vejo cada vez mais gente, especialmente estrangeiros, a recuperar tais espaços e a chamar-lhes casa, o que é algo que eu acho extremamente interessante!

I was already laughing when you started hammering down anchors with such small hammer. I was sure what will happen soon :). Ragarding interior improvement, great job with lighting. Have you considered adding foldable table? It would be easier eat there and work. And your spine will thank you because you killing it now on your armchair.

I thought about adding a table, but I'm still not sure where! I think I might leave that for another space outside of this small barn. Maybe I'll put one on a deck somewhere outside? That could be nice!

Looks like the ground fights every cm with all those stones.
Honestly, it really sucks! Every hole I put on the ground hits bedrock. It’s been one of the most challenging things so far!
I've seen it slowing down some projects by days, some people end up using a jackhammer. If it wasn't rock, just soaking the ground normally helps. Will be on the lookout for any good advice.👍
Thank you! I've been trying to find a good alternative to the pickaxe, as I think I'll have a lot of digging ahead of me, but all I can find are excavators, which are too expensive and too big to get on the land
So the best solution for bedrock seems to be a jackhammer, have watched loads of footage from people claiming to solve the problem... Not. For loose stone digging a swallow hole and soaking with water helps a lot. No easy fix.👍😬

Haha you need a bigger tool ... hammer ... but amazing start! I would have dug holes and used fast setting concrete, but not as green. Obsessed with your new lights as they so effective. Looking good as ever x

Uma dúvida onde compraste esse suportes que enterraste no chão para levar os barrotes isso é fixe.
Ps: Caso queiras por madeira em contacto com o chão, queima a madeira vai evitar fungos e que apodreça.

Tens razão em relação ao desperdício da água da chuva! Um dia irei ter algum sistema de recolha, mas para já como ainda não tenho horta, também acabaria por não lhe dar muito uso.
Em relação aos suportes para os barrotes, comprei-os na Leroy Merlin, mas também já os vi na Maxmat!
