I never knew we had a Boricua supermodel traveling the world and showing the beauty of the BORICUAS WOMANS, now I feel very happy and proud to know that we had a beauty puertorriquena doing it. Well done boricua and keep representing.
Us Puerto Ricans come in all colors. That's why we say soy Boricua & that's it.We Taino Indian, Spanish from Spain and Black from Africa. If you don't know you better do your research.
Joan, eres de San Sebastian? I'm from Hatillo, a few miles from there! (Nota: "Alla afuera" dicen "lighter-black" porque ellos no tienen un equivalente para "trigueño", as we use to say in Puerto Rico! LOL
Yeah there is no BLACK WHITE YELLOW OR BROWN. It is the culture that defines Puerto Rico, Not the color. I see the theme in other countries too. Italy has 3000 years of existence and have been invaded and have invaded and everyone here has color and features that go from North African to Northern Germany. A real rainbow. But they are all Italian. Other countries have yet to get to this maturity. Wish Joan and her family the best.
I was so confused when she said "african latina", she is normal here... same as many of us in Puerto Rico. Why do they need categories on their appearances?
Dr. Strange I guess that’s how many people categorize themselves nowadays when they’re latinxs/hispanic but look black. I came to realize my family, including my mother would be considered an afrolatina because she usually gets mistaken for an African American but is hispanic.
It's an American thing I honestly think, because just like you....I wouldn't call myself, or anyone who is of darker shade in any Latino country that...because MOST, if not ALL, Boricuas have African blood, one of the many things that makes us so beautiful!!!🖤🇵🇷🖤
Her dad is St Croix origin, there’s lots of Virgin Islands people in Puerto Rico and vise versa. My grandmother was born in st Thomas Virgin Island to a Puerto Rican Spanish father and Virgin Islander mother 🇵🇷 🇻🇮
@@cinnamonstar808 you are right. My grandfather (from my father's side) was from Spain. My husband is cuban and my mother in law's mother was from Spain, too. It is common in these Caribbean islands.
