We seen them when we stayed dec 14-18 I love the bears my fav part of going to Tennessee
I told the waiter I wanted my usual. Steak extra rare ! He's gonna bring it out to me. I told him I wasn' leaving till he did it right. Next time I'll tell him don't bother cooking it. I'll just just take it to go.

Amen. I live in southern Ohio. We're finally getting our bears back, so many people don't realize how many animals live in urban areas in the mountains/hills our little cities are not dense enough to keep the animals out.
My best friend ate there 2 weeks ago. The manager told them not to bother him and he wouldn’t bother them. Evidently he’s been tagged by Wildlife Resources and considered not a threat. I personally think it’s pretty amazing and hope people will leave him alone.
Eh still a bear either way. I ain’t gonna bother him but he could still come bother me if he really felt like it

We have a whole family of bears at the Greenbrier. Let me tell ya ! They are some fat gorgeous bears from eating high dollar food !
:( a fed bear is a dead bear this is why they are interacting with humans because humans are feeding them like baby goats at a petting zoo. It just takes one time for things to go the way nature intends and the bear and/or human will die

Ahhh the peddler...I remember 40 year ago when I was cooking at prime time steaks ,we both restaurants would be slammed,and would trade extra potatoes ect so we could make it through a slammed October Saturday nite...the good ole days.

Right as he ascended the stairs and approached the door he heard the girl laughing at him and his girth and thought to himself, "yeah, I guess I probably shouldn't keep eating here..." and changed his mind.

I understand at least once a bear figured out how to open the doors to one of the hotels in Gatlinburg that had a breakfast bar - just walk in, they open automatically.

Looks like the same bear that was hanging around when we were there in late October.
We were there this past Saturday night, 10/8/22, and there was a bear in a tree right outside of the window where we were eating. The bears hang around The Peddler because they're baited. If you walk around the side and back of the building, there's corn cobs everywhere to lure the bears in. Could be a bit dangerous, I would think. Not to mention, illegal.
Humans continually encroaching on animals space and habitat, so the bear just said "what the hell, I'll get me some steak".
He picked a good restaurant! 😊

Nice!😃I live up North near Philadelphia and one of these bears came into my neighborhood last Spring and it was a fiasco from Helicopters and police, they actually tried luring the bear with jelly donuts in a cage! No joke! , cops came, but the bear didn’t! They eventually found him in a tree nearby,and used a stun gun, and sent him to a refuge in Northern Jersey!!! All ended well!🐻🙏💯

What keeps them from wandering in places that have automatic doors like grocery/drug stores etc?
There was a bear that started at SkyBridge Parking, walked up by SugarLand and was finally seen by the public at the "Gatlinburg" 🐻 sign in front of the convention center... tourists were being stupid, so police were called.
Apparently the rules are that you are SUPPOSED to the police when seeing a bear in public, for the Bear's safety

Last trip to Gatlinburg, folks were feeding a couple of bears from balcony at hotel. Wish people would stop feeding the bears...it's not a good idea. 😒
