Per James Cameron, yes they'd both fit BUT they'd be in the water. Test 2 was they got on the door just enough that vital organs were out of the water. Test 3 was Rose giving Jack a life jacket for added protection. Though Kate said in an interview that she didn't think they'd both survive if they both got on the door.
And also it wasn't a full door. It's more of the top of a door that they used for decoration. The weight of both of them would be to much for both to be on top
Seen this last Thursday, it’s crazy. The water he put his hand in is freezing. They also have an actual life vest that was worn by a woman that was in the water. It’s amazing to see.
I am a member of THE TITANIC museum and I have a original 1.3360 scale model and I have a signed book book from James Cameron and I got a movie heart of the ocean necklace from the movie so I got to visit this museum

Me and my parents is going to pigeon Forge for the Smokey mountain jeep invasion august 20th-25th and while we’re there we’re going to visit the titanic museum
The new Rose and Jack exhibit is beautiful and sad at the same time. Thank you for uploading it even though we have 2 copies of Titanic on DVD. My family and I are keeping our new visit to The Titanic Museum on pause, because COVID-19 has entered the picture. The video you uploaded on UA-cam is helpful even though the menu is very appetizing. For example, my dad would die to consume Fab's Italian Club, because he enjoys eating the Italian Combo which is his usual lunch item from a sandwich shop that's located somewhere in California. My mom and I would also possibly die to share the First Class Banana Split together. Please make it super clear that we'd give it some thought about consuming some items off of the cafe's menu that you told your viewers about on camera. 👍🏼if you'd really die to see Rose DeWitt-Bukater in the flesh even though we're all aware that it's just a museum employee named Kadi who's onscreen dressed up as the fictional survivor.
Agreed. Not both of their bodies. But, if they were both in the water, per a comment I saw above, then yes I think it could have worked. Whether they both would survive or not, we'll never know, but i think Jack would have had a better shot though IMO
You know, I'm not a big fan of Titanic '97 (my wife loves the movie) but I'm more about just the historical side of things. But I can understand why they included the movie props as that's probably a big thing people expect to see when visiting this museum. Great video though! Keep bringing the great channel content!
To be fair, I think most Titanic museums are more geared towards pleasing fans of the movie rather than actual historians. Some are so bad they still push falsehoods like Ismay being an evil man, the locked binoculars dooming the ship, the Marconi operators causing the Californian to hang up, or that 3rd class passengers were purposely locked below deck. The best is probably Belfast (obviously). Not only do you get the story from the city that built it, but you can truly see the history from the SS Nomadic (the last WSL ship in existence) to the Titanic Hotel (former WSL drawing room which is still in excellent condition). The museums at her ports of call are likely fairly accurate. Stateside probably Luxor and/or Orlando exhibits but haven’t visited any besides the one in TN myself.
Thank you for this great video, I really enjoyed it! My grandparents used to have a cabin in pigeon forge, and several years ago when we were visiting we ventured out into the town and came across the Titanic museum. We were able to go into the museum and it was amazing! This video brought back the fond memory of that day, and it was so cool to see the museum again through this video! And I’m glad to say I still recognize the exhibits! Now I really want to go back there and see the movie exhibit and try the frozen custard restaurant, it wasn’t there when I visited the museum!
Great vlog. I still feel they both could fit on the door. Maybe not their whole bodies, but both of parts of their body’s which could have saved Jacks life too. Can’t wait to visit the museum in October of this year.
4:35 another fun fact is the panel exists for real just a smaller fragment that was found floating in the ocean after the sinking. They just made it whole again for the movie.
If you have been there, I loved it so much, my mom. My dad and me went oh my gosh. It was so much fun. It was the best thiforever. I really enjowe did pigeon forge Tennessee and they also have behind the lens, which is like a big camera. And it's right across the street from them
Volo Auto Museum has an exhibit on the Titanic. Ironically it had a mysterious flooded and they could not find the source where the water came from. They said that they have the one of two cars built in their exhibit the other one is on the Titanic.
The boarding process is well handled. Katie called me out as my character’s gender and class level would not have much of a chance surviving. (She was right). What a great experience!
I really enjoyed the video. Really would look forward to visiting the Titanic Museum and seeing all that's included in it. I took do not believe both of them could've fit on it. Also did you go to opening day today of the Summer Celebration at Dollywood and if not are you planning on going today or another day and doing the Tasting Pass and trying some of the items available. Would really look forward to a video on that.
I finally got to see this museum and u loved it. The Grand Staircase got me very emotional. Visiting the Jack & Rose exhibit was pretty cool. I do not think that Jack would have fit on the door with Rose.
Nice you all live on n the area, but we have been to Gatlinburg and finally took in Pigeon forge over the past 2 years, and know now the Titanic exhibit you need to make reservations , which we were able to pull off off before going back home to Georgia 😱😱😱on our last day maybe could of gotten a discount ? By booking ahead
James Cameron did it best. In reality a lot of 3rd class passengers did not know or at least did not realize the tragedy coming at all, not until the Collapsible A B C & D were down and in the water, meaning the ships bridge was already submerging. Jack was of course, a fictional character, buta real J Dawson as Joseph is his actual name, did not survive the 1912 Sinking of the Titanic. 1997 Titanic Sinking has her and him fully correct. Third class passengers tried to board Col-A (Col = Collapsible) and Col-B, but the time had come for a split-second-decision when as i stated earlier, the 1st Funnel was about to collapse
I appreciate you sharing this. It's awesome. We went years ago when they had some of the costumes on display. We tried the custard shop back in February. It was awesome. I'm glad they added inside seating. How long is the jack and rose exhibit be there?
I’m actually going to be in Tennessee at the end of the month. So I’ll definitely have to swing by and check it out. Not to mention I’m a big titanic guy. So definitely going to have to try a swig by when I’m there.
James Cameron said Jack was always meant to die so Rose could live. Even if he could fit, he wouldn't have gotten on there if there was a chance she would die.
I’d like to think they both could fit on the door. But then the storyline would have been ruined. I’m looking forward to the upcoming movie with Kate going back to Titanic. Great vlog Ryan. Happy Father’s Day 🎉
@@christinecampbell2525 I’ve seen the trailer for it on UA-cam. Kate goes on another ship I’m not sure if it’s a new Titanic or not. The clip shows her at her age now in real life and memories of Jack.
Looking at it, I do think both could have fit in certain positions, but both would have been treading on water. So in terms of survival, if both were on it the chances would have been slim. If they lived long enough for rescue to arrive, then I think both could have made it, but I don't see that happening. So really it's a yes and no. Yes both could fit, but no both wouldn't have been able to survive.
She said it has been in storage 25 years however I saw the sinking dress 6 years ago at the Biltmore in Asheville. Was this particular dress in storage that long?
It doesn’t really matter whether they’d both fit or not ..Jack and Rose were made up characters for the movie . I would love to learn about the people who were actually on the ship though. It’s a great movie and the added bits made up were beautiful like the scene when they were both at the front of ship pretending to fly .
I don’t think question should be “was there enough room for both?” Because clearly, there was. The real question should be “Would it have been able to hold the weight of both?” Because no. I don’t think so
It was integral to the story that only Rose survived anyway. I know that part of the story wasn't real but who's to say that actually happened that way, as parts of it are essentially a retelling of events from her memory. Plus that Grand Staircase you showed did not feature in the movie, the set was destroyed during the sinking. I don't like how these replicas have lower handrails included- still better than the 'replica' in Belfast. That one looks like a high school theatre production.
I’m not sure if anybody else in the comments is going to point this out so I’m just gonna do it; that is on display is not a screen worn costume, although the lifejacket is the one that was worn in the film, the jacket itself is questionable. The address is a J Peterman replica. This particular museum has been known to display pieces and label them as screen worn they were not.
OMG, it's not about whether would both fit on the door, it's whether the door with both of them on it would have enough buoyancy to keep them out of the freezing water. The answer is NO, so Jack did what he felt he needed to do.

Just wait until someone thinks rose and jack are real people 💀 because of this exhibit
They were based on an actual couple on board
It’s wasn’t a real couple that was on board it was fake
People definitely already think that. Titanic is known worldwide and there are a lot of dumb people in the world.

Through October for sure, they could extend it.
I already went there like3 weeks ago Or maybe 4 weeks ago But it wasn't there

Oh it was the top of a door
In the original script it was a piece of the staircase but changed to a wood panel by the time they filmed the scene.

They told us through October.
Do you know if that includes Halloween? It would be the only day during our upcoming trip that we could visit.
It wasn't a door actually, it was a wooden panel from the 1st class mans smoking room
Will the girl who plays Rose in the museum , let me Paint her like one of my French girls ? 😂
It's a movie it happen once but no rose or jack!!!!!😅
The door thing was bugging everyone and James did the test already and it was busted, jack would have still died
Jack and Rose? Tacky. It's a movie. That part of the story never happened.
