Chris stumble onto this video while looking up DIY videos for my recently purchased SC300(in the US). This is now the inspiration for my build. Powerful, Clean, and Classy with tasteful mods. Well done Bro! I just clicked subscribe.
I really appreciate the comments mate thankyou :) I can't take the credit for this build, I've just been keeping it up together and making changes to my taste, such as wheels and new turbo setup and mapping now (video coming soon!) The previous owner did a lot of diy/how to videos which is how this car got to what you see now and was helpful when u had my first soarer. Look for provoke designs and you'll see a big lot of work done to this car which made it what it is today
Oh dude! Sounds so incredible! That flutter! Man, beastly. Looks like some serious power too man, absolutely love it :) would love to come for a spin dude. The Volvo back in 2007 was amazing, but this is a slight upgrade :)
@@TheSwedishCarGuy yes I like the look of your channel! Will have a watch this evening!! Yea even a standard one is still fast and luxurious! It's nice to have bug single, waste gate and the bit extra power of course, but nothing wrong with them as factory cars either. As soon as you add a decent exhaust system, intercooler and less restrictive air intake they liven up alot in stock form too
Hey! Yes, it's on now, got some rolling road clips of the tuning-next drive out video will be with the gtx3071r on the car so stay tuned :) Hit the limits of the old coild pack, so not got the power I wanted (was probs more powerful in this video) but spools quicker and has considerably more power low down. After r8 coils are fitted, will be back to the rolling road for final state which should be back to the 450bhp area
@@ChrisHib01 Sweet! How much sooner does it spool? Bummer about the coil packs. Also curious if the gtx3071 makes as much noise (flutter and whistle) as the s362?
@@MINIPOTHOLES I've basically got full boost around high 2, low 3k instead of mid 4k- with the 1j head being quite restrictive aswell, power tails off at 6-7k. So got more boost for more of the rev range where it counts now, so a ton more driveable, just not quite as peaky power wise as it was. But it's just under 1 bar of boost at present so doesn't sound as savage, but more spooling noise as this is ball bearing turbo now compared to the borgwarner journal bearing one. Hopefully final form at similar boost levels to what it was will get the savagery back!
@@ChrisHib01 so in general you get more spool up noise with the 3071 compares to the borg? But less flutter? That’s an insanely low rpm for full boost lol. Is it stock bottom end?
@@MINIPOTHOLES yes, essentially. It is as far as I'm aware, the previous owner had the bottom end built and I still have the invoices for all the parts-I don't think there's anything special about the bottom end apart from it being a very fresh 2j really. When doing leak down and compression test before all this it was 170psi across all 6 cylinders-which I beleive is higher comp than the a healthy 2jzgte bottom end-kind of makes sense as this is na bottom end I guess
Toyota soarer/SC 300 are essentially the same thing. It was just sold in Japan as a Toyota soarer with a few more options than the rest of the world where it was sold as an sc300-chief among which is the 1jz pose plant which the rest of the world didn't get. That's why a lot of people swap them in or build off the na 2jz's to turbo builds with relative ease-as it offered a 1j variant in factory form in Japan, its not a crazy hard swap for the more mechanically gifted if us
Good to see this car again. Sounds amazing
Thankyou! Most stuff is new and replaced in the past year so it'd about as fresh as it can get at present!

Yea this definitely has the power, but the twin cam growl of that volvo is still unmatched short of cammed up and throttle-bodied competition engines!
@@ChrisHib01 The volvo sure was amazing! I think I still have a video of us drifting in it!
@@CHOEYGMUSIC oh my god, ping that over if you ever come across it again! 🤣👌
Would you mind doing a walk around of the car? I love the interior on it.
Yes absolutely! Didn't think of that, will sort it soon for sure!
Love the car and sounds it makes :)
Thankyou! Yes it does sound pretty savage! Haha
@@ChrisHib01 I will actually buy a Soarer and your spec list is awesome :)
Did a review of the Soarer and after that hell yeah :) I want one.

I have been consuming so much Soarer content recently ;D
yeah I love them, such underrated cars for sure :)
Nice car . Where did you get the spaces for brakes from
Thankyou :) the previous owner made and sold them as kits I beleive. He doesn't do them any more though unfortunately
How many horsepower is the car putting out with the present set up?
Now on gtx3071r gen2 with r8 coils, and sat at about 460bhp.
Latest video shows the setup and dyno at start of vid if still interested 👍
@@ChrisHib01 wow 460 is nice and healthy. Thanks
Mmmm
Didn’t end up upgrading to a gtx3071?

To be correct SC300 is Soarer
