Excellent review. I just don't understand why people have to make such a big deal out of one day battery life out of a watch for 90% of people they can get through a whole day with sleep tracking and wake up with 20% battery left That's perfectly fine. In comparison I find the pixel watch battery is a direct one to one match with the Apple watch series 8 I consistently get around the same amount of battery that you experience with this Apple watch. And I love that you divulged into the battery anxiety aspects for most people they're not going to kill the Apple watch series 8 in a day they're going to wake up after sleep tracking with 20% battery left just like with the pixel watch!

1 day battery life was considered poor performance back in 2013.
As a person who ovulates, I didn’t see it as enough of a reason to upgrade from the Series 7.

Still on my Apple Watch 5 but the battery is pretty degraded now - 74%. But I feel I should wait out one more year. The SE is cheaper but definitely not for me because I want an always on display.

I just purchased the series 8 41mm and the battery life sucks
It dies so quickly that I feel like it isn’t even worth wearing

Picked up a series 7 41mm brand new sealed $300 USD in midnight sports this week. I just wish the battery would last longer. Normally hasn’t lasted an entire day with 6-9 hours on average.
That’s odd - Just got the 7 as well and I’m at 45% after 11hrs of normal usage. I would suggest bringing it to the Apple Store for troubleshooting.
That’s weird cause I had the series 7 41mm and it would last me 12-13 hours
Update: I dimmed the screen brightness, used the watch mainly for the purposes of receiving notifications and I can now finally use the battery for a longer time, mostly good for 12-15 hours 👍🏻
My series series 8 with cellular battery drain so fast can you recommend to do something.

I was gifted this watch recently (I don't have it yet), and it's the Cellular version: If I don't use the cell feature, the watch is the same, right?
We.might need a comparison with the best other options and also the cheapest brandless beste featured ones if possible, find a sponsor and for sure will watch it.

I have an Apple Watch Series 5 (titanium), which has been great. I was all gung-ho (wonder where that expression came from?) to upgrade it to a Series 8. Imagine my disappointment when I found Apple had discontinued the titanium option - WTF! Why would I want to downgrade (IMHO) from titanium to stainless steel? So, no new Apple watch for me, Mr. T. Cook!!

...but nobody, including Apple, expects you to be upgrading from the series 7 to the series 8; these aren't devices you buy every year - people buying the series 8 will likely be coming from the 5 and earlier and so there are meaningful updates there. Being disappointed that the series 8 isn't different enough from the series 7 to make you upgrade is like being disappointed that the 2022 F-150 isn't different enough from the 2021 F-150 to make you upgrade.
These two things are definitely not the same. Apple would love for you to upgrade every year and there are studies that show that does happen a decent amount. A truck costs way more than a smartwatch.
Sure, Apple would love you to upgrade every year and it was an exaggerated example, but are you really telling me that Ford wouldn't love you to buy a truck every year too?
I'm simply asserting that it doesn't happen but would be happy to be proven wrong if you could share the studies that show a significant portion of Apple Watch users upgrade yearly because from my anecdotal experience of about a dozen people, I don't know anyone who does that.
If you had the 7 and went on to buy the 8, you bought the same watch twice!

@@CoMmAxFiCtioN On normal days of just running errands, I can get about a day and a half on one charge. If I’ve been really active and used maps during the day, it only lasts about a day.
