The amount of times I have gapped the lobby early on in a grand race only for 2nd and 3rd to pair up and slip back u onto me is incredibly infuriating. I don’t want it removed personally but it definitely needs some level of adjustment
I've been in 1st more times than I can count, and 2nd and 3rd would slip and catch me, but it is what it is. I'm honestly more concerned with rammers and resetters than I am slipstream. Especially making a turn and a player just dive bombs you into a barrier, giving you a speed penalty and no penalty to the player who hit you.
this has to be the cringiest feeling ever. i've also been scammed away from wins where i've gapped the pack but then slipstreamed and passed due to the last section being a highway. whoever at ivt decided to use the highway basically every single grand race should get fired...

I don't think slip should be removed, this is an arcade racer after all. However, the effect should not be as massive as it is. I'd also rather take out drag bump so you'd have to tactically slingshot past people to keep up speed. Would automatically make racing more interesting on highways
I think we've said it many times already in the competitive community, removed? no, adjusted? 100%. The speed bonus the car leading gets it's stupid and doesn't make sense. Even if you're following someone to try and over take, if the entire race is highway (which these devs love their highways) you can empty a full bottle of NOS and still wont make it pass the leading car because of the bonus speed they get. In real life and sim racing you can use slipstream tactically in this game is basically a max speed mechanic for both cars. Having the leading car loose the "speed" bonus will make players swap positions a lot more which equals to more fighting which means they will slow each other enough for the leading car to maintain that gap.
Agreed! The way the game is designed removes so much of the tactical decision making of racing and competition, instead turning GR's into more of a 'borefest'. Not sure the devs understand what the 'thrill of racing' means, as every new GR update seems to only go against the sense of competition and more of a 'luck lottery'. Maybe that's their goal with 'equality' and 'everyone is a winner' mentality though ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Skill nerf to the point of random luck, but with enough 'skill based delusion' to keep people interested. When in reality, you're competing against dumb luck more than skill.
i hate when you drive 3rd. and first with second go away from you with slipstream. and you cant catch becouse 4 is way behind you and you drive alone. with no slipstream partner.
The main issue I have with slipstream is it's essentially free nos. What I mean by this, is if you have someone not in slip but uses their nos, and you have someone without nos but in slip. Their catch-up rate isn't all that different to each other. This goes against building up the skill and knowledge of mastering nos efficiency and effectiveness, when a player behind can just stay with you, even being in red nos, or without nos. Yet they get 'rewarded?' with free nos (aka slip) to still keep up!? Rendering your nos manamagent ineffective and pointless to stop them from catching up with using slip... The other issue is the distance range of slip, especially in Alpha GP. It removes so much of the skill of cornering pace if on every corner, the person behind just catches up immediately again. Slip is far too overpowered and should definitely be nerfed to a value of something like only 30% of it's current power/advantage (would make it more realistic too). And when factoring in slip-trains, it's impossible to catch up via raw pace when solo even if the two people slipping are still seconds off your own pace. Slip is just too advantageous there. Not to mention the complete and total disadvantage of slip with desync and losing positions at the finish line also, purely due to all finishes being a straight and often with a highway straight too 🤦 That's not a fair rewarding of skill at all. Can't defend against that by just 'driving better'. If you're only just driving in a straight line to the finish line and the person behind you is kept right behind you thanks to slip, with no way to put more distance on them by taking a corner better, resulting in your deserved win being stolen by overpowered slip and the games server lag. Much worse than the 'scamming' mentioned in the video. As that is down to nos management and not just simply bad game design rewarding worse driving with 'free nos' and higher top speeds to those behind..

If players want to work together to create a gap I think they should use slip to slingshot each other forward rather than lining up and doing almost nothing for an increase in speed
❤ I followed a dude for probably over 50% of the GR to chase down 1st and 2nd couldn’t quite make it and I overtook him at 98% because he made a mistake but stopped to give him 3rd because I don’t need the money and he was a great random slip partner 😊
One thing you should maybe cover is the advantage pc players have. I first got the game at launch on ps5 and have gotten to a point of top five average with some of the non meta cars, but recently I got motorfest on the computer to play with a friend and in gr’s I went from top 5 average to top 2 average just from switching to pc it is just kinda insane.
Was trying to test slipstream in playlists but as it always fucks on ps5 with a crew it's almost impossible to test. Wish they would fix the servers once and for all

Only way slip could be less cheesy is by giving someone that even is alone in front drag bump. Even if its reduced from slip its still beter then nothing.. But at this point they are just flat out rewarding people with unlimited noss for A having a rough start or B just beeing a worse driver then you.. Either way giving unlimited noss seems more like a crutch rather then mechanic for people that consitantly can be in top positions
I disagree with the other high skill players. The crew is not Sim racing. Close racing is what keeps the game fun for most people. There are plenty of Sim games out there if you want to be pernickety about the details.
If they capped the FPS is probably because the engine is not stable enough to properly calculate the physics at higher FPS. It can be like in GTA 5 where higher FPS than 60 will make you faster because the game engine can calculate more physics within the same second as opposed to being capped. Many racing games have already un-capped FPS because devs have separated physics calculations from the FPS.
What's all this talk about drag bump and the amazing almost supernatural power it gives? It sounds like Afix words to me, whatever happened to Grand races being Fair PVP? the fact that it's still being allowed is a farce because we can't run with the afix's that give these exact superpowers to us, but the powers are still there. Does that make any sense? I have earned my afix's. isn't it about time they let us use them in all racing events fairly?
I have been playing crew motorfest from 1 week and today for the first time I saw some idiots in grand race they were intentionally blocking nd ramming others n me in the start of race nd in some races they mischeckpoints and use shortcut to block upcoming route it was so annoying.
I aint competitive but I have the same opinion as them. Its too overpowered! I won a grand race last week and used shortcuts last week and the only way I got so far ahead mid race was when my opponent crashed and won the race but for the last few percentages they managed to catch up but it was lucky when 99% of the time I see people beat me despite me using cuts and not over relying on nitrous. I guess I was lucky and found a lobby with bad players. I aint the best player but I wouldnt call myself bad either I am just here to say that yes its really overpowered.
I’m not that good but I’ve achieved a W with below 8th being dnf that was like 45 seconds (probably my best personal GR lead) but it’s all down to who Is infront or behind some work with you to close the gap some attack 😂😂
If you’re out front and think someone is slipping you. Slow down. Then slot in behind them. It’s the same in most games and also irl racing. If they want to push then they’ll be vulnerable if not, you’ll both just save nos to a drag at the end

I highly doubt 'all the best players' want it removed. It's only an issue when it works against people. I never hear anyone complain when they're in 1st and 2nd slipping. I don't care about winning a GR. but those that complain about slip probably wouldn't even win a GR without it anyway .. 😊

I would actually win more GRs without slip due to just having the better pace most of the time. Meaning I could actually create enough gap between me and 2nd place at the finish that the server lag doesn't steal my wins over 500+ times now.. I even made a whole video on my channel called "Why I hate slip in GRs" to show why and how it's such a problem. If you watch it, you'll understand why many of the top players dislike it. Not to mention slip trains determined by your grand race start.. (largely luck). The fact slip is included in ghosted GRs is a complete disservice to the point of people asking for ghosted GRs as well... Because now there's even less of a skill differentiating factor between players and now it's even easier for lower skilled players to abuse a catch-up mechanic... But many games are doing this. Punishing higher skill while simultaneously boosting lower skill. Problem is in the end, it only hurts the people who play the most and also want to enjoy the game the most. There's no rewarding feeling to have to 'carry' others. You see this in fps games all the time. Raw solo skill is dying out..
To add: its racing, being the fastest/smartest and first over the line and racings been like that since it was bloody invented. Doesnt matter how you do it but using the games mechanics to your advantage just shows some people think/play/race better than you. You are wrong and correct at the same time, slipstream exist in real life, but not in the same way it does in this game. In real life, the car following gets the benefit of the slip to over take. The car leading, doesn't. Unless the car behind directly pushes the bumper of the car in front, the car leading wont go any faster. In this game, the car leading gets a "Boost" that allows it to go to max speed, basically locking both cars in a state where you can't over take and can't be overtaken. and there's like 1 and half meters between each car, is stupid and makes no sense.

sometimes the grand race is totaly unfair especially if you start in third place and the two in front of me know each other and one of them blocks me
