Your mindset about working and how they’ll “ replace you tomorrow “ is exactly me. Family time, memories, enjoying your life is what it’s all about . Not money not a career. Glad someone gets it ❤
Most definitely too many people take the small things, most important things in life for granted most times over materialism and careers same difference so I get you as well. The one thing you can’t never get back or no amount of money can buy is …. Your time! ❤❤
I agree with this 100% I dropped out of dental school because of those reasons and mainly because my mental health matters and it was NOT making me happy. I gained weight and lost time with my family (mom of 2)
wow the fact that you worked as a nurse through the height of covid is crazy, huge respect to you girl. the nurses and doctors, medical staff etc working through that time were the most essential part of our society and how we handled it together. i dont blame you for choosing a different path. we need better for our healthcare workers.
I went to nursing school straight out of high school. I made it to clinicals and decided to change my major to social work. I’m 25 with no kids, and I also spend a lot of time with my family. I am a Deputy now at a jail. I am glad you made this video. I used to think that being a nurse, was the best route for me. I’m glad I changed my plan. I’m enjoying life with my mother and dog. You made the best decision for you!
@@NewbirthHannah05 yeah but we shouldn’t have to travel to make this amount of money, ceo, cfo, cno and all the big dogs make so much money off of nurses, techs, doctors and want take more for themselves instead of giving nurses what they need. It doesn’t even make sense that they would pay outside nurses more to work than pay their staff it is so backwards. The healthcare system doesn’t even care about patients, the sicker they are the more money they make. It makes me sick sometimes but me personally this was what I was meant to do.
I left nursing in 2022 and I remember the anxious feeling. It never left me. I HATED that every single day, I felt anxiety running through me daily because of my job.
I never felt anxiety about the job....it was always the psychopathic women I routinely had to deal with. I learned about job anxiety after 20+ years....the field is failing from the system.

I'm an Ambulance Dispatcher and I work graveyard.. it's definitely not for the weak ! I retired a year ago after 40 years in healthcare, completely burned-out by the constant stress, lack of support by leadership and abuse by patients. If I knew then what I know now I would have gone into HR. No one ever died from a HR mistake. As a military nurse I worked countless 32-40 hour duty days, no sleep, no meal break, only a couple brief bathroom breaks. Decades of dozens of lifts per shift ruined my back, hips, shoulders. But now I retired and learning to live like a human being again.
I know me being a patient care tech showed why nursing wasn’t for me def saved me some time and extra debt😂 I advise a lot of people should do cna/pct before nursing !
I literally quit nursing school 6 months before graduation and it was the best decision I ever made. Everything you said was how I felt and I knew that was not sustainable
I am currently enrolled in a LPN program, which I started a months ago. However, I am already experiencing doubts about my ability to succeed. I feel like the least intelligent individual in my class, which is making me consider quitting.
Girl you’re just so beautiful, inside & out. Beauty & Brains, definitely a strong honest independent woman. Keep up the amazing work you do & you touch a lot ppl. I have been a nurse for 33 years, all of the things you are saying are very true. I once recorded a meeting where I was told my performance was not up to par and that someone complained. It was to tell me the assistant head nurse was going to come along with me on my home care nurse visits. All of the other nurses were working for free and doing 12 plus hours for an 8 hour day. I could only bring myself to do 10 hours daily and so I put down 10 hours and worked begrudgingly for free for 2 hours. This is common practice in the field. They wanted employees to be available 24/7 and they had recently implemented a deal where you could no longer bring a supply tote and had to visit the patient with no supplies and if you needed them you had to drive all the way to the supply warehouse which was 20 city miles or more and then they could bill the patient for 2 visits somehow by twisting the words ...I transferred back to the inpatient within 1 week of that episode.. I recorded that conversation and they demanded the tape.. I refused. I left quietly and resumed my nursing.. this is just one example of the maltreatment nurses experience. As far as times, can never plan anything because you do not know if the next shift will arrive on time or at all and your time to be off is when your done and not a set time but they want you to clock out at the correct time due to the pressures on them from Corporate. Grrr. I stopped this career when I became physically sick and was having chronic pain..I could not do it any longer..Peace my friend. Im now on disability as are many of my nurse friends. I do some gig work for a little bit of extra money when I feel up to it...back is thrashed,Nerves thrashed, Blood Pressure crazy...
I wasn't a nurse, I was in Operations, work 4 12hour shifts, night shift, for a year and a half. My mental health AND physical health went DOWN. I let it go too! I cried too, and also got paid the same lol. Wow- Shout out to you!
Hi Kelsey! Thank you for sharing this, it was very timely for me. I was supposed to attend a Nursing program this Spring semester and I had so many doubts and I was doing to for reasons that were not my own. However, things did not work out and I was no longer accepted to the program. I was nervous to tell my family, but I saw it as a sign that this was not what I was meant to do. After delaying it as much as I could, I finally told them I did not want to continue pursuing nursing and I had a plan/passion for something else. This video just reassures me that things will work out the way they should. I always enjoy your videos, keep going! 💗
I totally know how you feel and relate to you so much about the anxiety before going in to work a shift and feeling so burnt out from everything. If you haven't already checked it out I high.y recommend you look into procedural nursing. I worked in GI Endoscopy and it was a dream!!! No weekends, no nights, no holidays. You won't have the same patient for the whole day, you have the opportunity to rotate between being in the pre/post area or in the procedure rooms. My quality of life was so significantly better when I switched from bedside to outpatient procedures.
You could even check out Cath lab, interventional radiology, those areas tend to take call and you would work the normal nursing schedule but without the stress of what you had to go through doing bedside!
Thank you for the motivational message at the end, I’ve had regrets about quitting my job but there’s more out there for me! ❤🎉 congratulations on 100k
I’m going to school now. Applying to the RN program for the fall. I’m working as a CNA right now in the hospital part time but now I’m really second guessing my career choice. CNA is not fun for me at all and it makes me so incredibly anxious. I see the nurses who seem just so burned out and I’m now really not liking my choice

Body pains, tiredness, sleeping all damn day, I dealt with dehydration plus much more! Thank you for this video and for informing everybody about what occurred in your nursing job!

I really enjoyed this video and honestly being a nurse is very difficult because sometimes you don't know what to expect on the job when people are feeling good, working night shifts, and not making good money especially if your body can't take it anymore.
I LOVE your comments about working - you're right, "F that!" go do your thang! Nursing can be a beautiful field to work in. You just need to find an environment that works for you. I'm only 8 years in and still enjoy what I do. Best of luck! ❤️
I just became a nurse last year and work on a med surg floor… It’s so hard to have a healthy work life balance because it takes me almost a full 24 hours for my brain and body to recover from my shifts: they are EXHAUSTING!! I’m 21 and I too get so much anxiety on shifts. I too like traveling, food (especially pho), and am debating on switching my career but I am not familiar with posting on UA-cam. But I just came across your channel through this video today. It’s inspiring and insightful. Thank you for being you and sharing your experience❤
"Thank you for sharing this. As a nurse with 5 years of experience, I love my job but I hate the toxic work environment and bullying that takes place. It's tough out here. You are lucky that you can quit. I have a house and student loans that I am trying to pay off, so I am looking for other ways to make money." Follow you dreams you can always come back to hell/ I mean nursing...
Phew! So glad I switch my major. I was a gonna be a traveling nurse and phew I couldn’t do it anymore. I appreciate your video and your experience, it is so similar to mine experience with the nursing industry! I am so glad I ain’t alone
I really admire you for realizing that nursing wasn’t for you & you decided to step-away instead of just continuing on a career you would eventually come to hate! Now days the place to be is in specialized nursing. I did Oncology with kids, I loved being a Hemodialysis RN.
Not me just gradated, about to take my NCLEX and then i see this 😂😂 nursing is not for the weak!!! I was already burnt out during nursing school 🥴 Real shit tho, thank you so much for sharing. I didn’t even know this about you and it felt like I was on FaceTime with a sister. ❤❤ love you and support you always!
I went to hygiene school I changed my major from nursing. I make 50 bucks an hour. The bonus is I don't have to be stressed out doing 12 hour shifts, worrying about possibly killing somebody from a medication error. Mad respect to nurses, emt's, cna's, and all the others in this field.
You’re such a kind and beautiful soul! I relate to you on so many levels like you don’t even understand!!! Especially with what you were saying about how you are in work environments omg that is me to the tea girl! Hopefully we can make content together in the future cause I’m on the West Coast as well from the Bay! I love your personality and character so much, it’s too likeminded!! ❤️❤️💕💕
wow Kelsey i got hooked with your eating content last year and subbed but NEVAH in a M years i thought you used to be a nurse . i chose computer science last year but now i really wanna get into nursing . "at any given time you can restart your story" this vid def caught me off guard. Kelsey doing too good of a job as a YTer. im so happy Kelsey figured things out for her career and is rele happy doing what she loves now.
I work 12 hr night shifts right now as a nurse it is hard on the body no doubt. Nursing with kids I agree with u oofta for those that do. I do think pay is good though but it depends on the state some states have terrible pay it's not worth it at all I would agree.
Thank you doing this video after I asked in one of ur other vids if you could talk about why you chose to not continue ur nursing job. I’m shocked when you said you got paid 32/ hr! I liked how you said things will happen the way they supposed to. At least you stopped early in ur career instead of continuously torching urself
I completely understand you. I was in the same boat while in dental school. I quit when I realized how much it took from me. My mental and physical health. I was in night school so I lost time from my family (mom of 2), I wasn’t home to cook dinner, no down time with my family etc. thankfully my husband took care of that while I was gone but that also took a toll on my relationship. The instructors were not helpful or professional. They wasted my time. Most days we’d have a bullshit day when I could’ve been home with my family. Overall, I tried my best and I’m so much happier now. I travel more and most importantly physically and mentally better. Good for you girl ❤ do what truly makes you happy. We never know when our last day is
I went to Pima to move up from caregiving to medical assistant and I hated it the place I worked was so stuffy and full of rude people tried to apply many other places and they all tried to pay me 3-5 dollars less even though my background was pretty versatile as a caregiver working many different places and already had a lot of knowledge in ‘healthcare’. Im back to 1on1 caregiving and I love it and feel like I get to add more value to my patients lives while getting paid better.
Girrlll I’m in school now I only have 4 months left in this program…made it this far and now I’m like do I really want to do this?? I’m already considering the best schedule for me so I don’t have to deal with with all the drama!!! I do CNA work now and I was also a pharmacy tech and for me I love working with the patients/ customers the Nurses and Pharmacists don’t have that same vibe or they have so much documenting to do that they don’t get the chance to spend that extra time if I could focus on the patient and not have to do clerical work it would be really nice!
Girl I know exactly how you felt. Except I'm in the supermarket.. but I quit after 11 years.... and now I bake from home. The best thing I could ever do. My number aren't as high as I wish it was on instagram/ youtube tiktok. But I'm doing well or enough and such a huge weight came off my shoulder. But I'm so proud of you! I love anything you pit out, it's like listening to one of my girlies talk..
I literally just started watching you i love your whole life literally i love your vibe your personality you're so beautiful and i see you being so successful in life i wish you the best love definitely got a new subscriber ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I’ve been STNA for 13 years 7/11 & I am trying so hard to get out. It’s soo bad on my mental health lately I have been working less and less trying to phase out. The coworkers were the worst & the residents think ur their personal slave. I’ve never cried cuz I’m use to being mistreated but yea this is the end of the nursing road for me.
Oh My God this was so on point. Love this video. I have been a bedside nurse for over 10 years and I am still anxious going into work. I am still dealing with rude patients and rude family. Oh My God your confrontation with your nurse manager I was laughing 😂
I got laid off two weeks ago. I think it’s a blessing. I’ve had anxiety and numbness in my hands off and on for 25 yrs. To subject myself to emotional and physical harm daily by the patients alone is too much
Maybe this is a sign for me, I’ve been contemplating for a long time even if I should continue with nursing even though I love what I think this path could be for me. But the lack of motivation and the mental strain pushes me back. Also smoking helps with my stress and it’s enjoyable. It’s too much pressure for being young and not doing the things I want to enjoy. Maybe one day I’ll cross that path again but I’m taking this as my sign ❤
Being in the medical field can be stressful. It makes the job not fun at all, especially if you're dealing with so much negative energy. Nurses should get more time with family and friends, not working 12 hours every day and they should increase the pay as well. There are many jobs out there and many things you could do.
You a sav doing corrections nursing. You look hella happier now and looking way better from those pics. Working in a toxic environment is not the business once you dread going to work that’s when you know it’s time to bounce.
RN at my clinic makes $150k a year. The janitor here makes $30/hr When Kaiser have their strike, we all get a pay raise to keep us from jumping ship. They payed you wrong there. Better to jump companies n find easy laid back nursing work that pays. Or go back to school for your nursing practitioner degree. They are payed $200k up here in San cu dze market.
watching this got me ready to quit my job tomorrow lol. ive worked overnight for the past 6 years, and like kelsey said if i died today they would replace me tomorrow.
Girl, I love you and your videos so much. Honestly, there is not a day that goes by that I do not watch your videos. I also always watch your videos while eating. But girl, you should stop smoking because it's bad for your health. Not hating on you, I just care about you. Sending Love ❤
Girl... i just got my license in March of this year and to be honest.... 5 years max. I heard how brutal it was but I learn the hard way. Im thinking of either doing another medical specialty or going into IT. Let me know if any of you girlies went it dental hygiene, X-ray tech, ultrasound techs,

Thanks for sharing. This shit is therapeutic. I was stressin since I just graduated and will start working a real corprorate job. I love how you put it at the end that sometimes you could get disappointed but there are always better things out there for you. Love from Canada
Not me strugggggling in nursing school as I’m watching this. But fr boo, I love your energy! You’re such a baddie!!! IM ROOTING FOR YOU!!! You got this! Keep going! Ps, more story time videos plsssss 😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘✨🤍
Nursing can be a beautiful field to work in. You just need to find an environment that works for you. I'm only 8 years in and still enjoy what I do. Best of luck! ❤️
Thank you! I appreciate your enouraging words. And I know you are a bomb ass nurse! HUGS!@@ZiMakeUp
You shared a beautiful message, Kelsey! Congratulations on going for your dreams & living the life you want to live 🤩✨ keep going!!
I like you cause you make your own decisions and take a risk
I was already burnt out during nursing school 🥴
Real shit tho, thank you so much for sharing. I didn’t even know this about you and it felt like I was on FaceTime with a sister. ❤❤ love you and support you always!
$32 an hour !! that’s actually better money that most jobs …
After all the tax taken out though, you would make more working at McDonald’s frfr
@katrinataylor2224 That makes no sense. McDonald's workers also have all of that taken out of their $15/hour job. So, no, they are not better off.
But it’s low for an rn tbh…
I appreciate the honesty, God has a path for you! ❤️
Bruh can I be friends with you in real life 😂😂💯💯 I felt this in my soul and plus you are cracking me up.
Congrats on your journey! Keep striving 🤙🏼
You have a great mindset, and I adore it so much!! Keep it up girl, you’re doing amazing!!❤️ showing love, from Hawaii 🤙
Thanks for this video Kelsey! I wanted to go for nursing but you opened my eyes thank you! ❤
As a newgrad $32 an hour starting is not terrible at all
It’s garbage wtf atleast $35
Girllll this resonates so much with me. I feel like this video was my last sign to get out! Thank youu
Kelsey doing too good of a job as a YTer. im so happy Kelsey figured things out for her career and is rele happy doing what she loves now.
thank you ! i appreciate the support🩵
Kelsey liked my comment AHH
The blunt is sending me, yasss girl lmao
Supporting your decision! It must’ve been very mentally and emotionally and physically draining for you to quit!
a "cgi" sesh, story time & a mukbang?! 💅👏 thank you for sharing your nurse story. speaks volume to your character 💙
your story is so cool! i’m glad u chose to follow ur passion u made the right decision girl 💕 this was inspiring
We never know when our last day is
Been a nurse for 7 years. You’re inspiring me to take on something new. I want that happiness you got.
Most Filipinos like being a RN
huh?
@@myimperfectdiary890They really do....the ladies from India too, in my 30+ years experience. 😂
Every Filipino mom wants their child to be a nurse. My mom did. And then I dropped out ✌🏽
Good for you Kelsey and I hope you prosper this new year 🙌🙌🙌
As a caregiver and med tech I can definitely relate to all this
You honestly should never get in deep in a thankless career that beats you down, only one life in this body and I applaud you
this video is so real, thanks for sharing
Love your energy Kelsey, much love from New Zealand
Your energy and vibes are immaculate. Best wishes in whatever you wish to do !
Im back to 1on1 caregiving and I love it and feel like I get to add more value to my patients lives while getting paid better.
i love your videos so much Kelsey they are hella relaxing and real af
Girrlll I’m in school now I only have 4 months left in this program…made it this far and now I’m like do I really want to do this?? I’m already considering the best schedule for me so I don’t have to deal with with all the drama!!! I do CNA work now and I was also a pharmacy tech and for me I love working with the patients/ customers the Nurses and Pharmacists don’t have that same vibe or they have so much documenting to do that they don’t get the chance to spend that extra time if I could focus on the patient and not have to do clerical work it would be really nice!
I had no idea you were a nurse!!! Omg i love you
i cant explain how much i love you ur videos are literary the best watching them just makes my day ❤
thank you for being here💕💕💕💕
U smoke inside your house . That told me all I needed to know
You really have your head-on straight Kelsey! Not many women your age have your mindset! What are you doing now?
Talking about lifting.. Your knees eventually give out, along with your back. Semi-retired RN here..
My mother in law has been a nurse for 33 years and she going strong
She’s old school nursing, way different than the nurses of today.
Yessss girl 🎉🎉 been waiting on this ❤ congrats on all of your success and more!
tysm girl 🥹💕💕
I literally just started watching you i love your whole life literally i love your vibe your personality you're so beautiful and i see you being so successful in life i wish you the best love definitely got a new subscriber ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
You have such a positive outlook on so many things...and it's awesome 💛💛
I’ve been STNA for 13 years 7/11 & I am trying so hard to get out. It’s soo bad on my mental health lately I have been working less and less trying to phase out. The coworkers were the worst & the residents think ur their personal slave. I’ve never cried cuz I’m use to being mistreated but yea this is the end of the nursing road for me.
Youre amazing I love your videos def one of my new favorite UA-camrs🩷
Oh My God this was so on point. Love this video. I have been a bedside nurse for over 10 years and I am still anxious going into work. I am still dealing with rude patients and rude family. Oh My God your confrontation with your nurse manager I was laughing 😂
Yess. All of this! This is exactly why I went into corporate nursing & never looked back. ✌️
I got laid off two weeks ago. I think it’s a blessing. I’ve had anxiety and numbness in my hands off and on for 25 yrs. To subject myself to emotional and physical harm daily by the patients alone is too much
thank you so much for sharing this, i relate with everything you’ve sayin
Maybe this is a sign for me, I’ve been contemplating for a long time even if I should continue with nursing even though I love what I think this path could be for me. But the lack of motivation and the mental strain pushes me back. Also smoking helps with my stress and it’s enjoyable. It’s too much pressure for being young and not doing the things I want to enjoy. Maybe one day I’ll cross that path again but I’m taking this as my sign ❤
i really needed to hear this, thanks so much for sharing kelsey ❤️❤️❤️
Being in the medical field can be stressful. It makes the job not fun at all, especially if you're dealing with so much negative energy. Nurses should get more time with family and friends, not working 12 hours every day and they should increase the pay as well. There are many jobs out there and many things you could do.
You a sav doing corrections nursing. You look hella happier now and looking way better from those pics. Working in a toxic environment is not the business once you dread going to work that’s when you know it’s time to bounce.
Been in the medical field for 8 plus years!! In nursing school!! Best decision I’ve made!! Weights, nutrition, Nursing 💯
RN at my clinic makes $150k a year. The janitor here makes $30/hr
When Kaiser have their strike, we all get a pay raise to keep us from jumping ship.
They payed you wrong there. Better to jump companies n find easy laid back nursing work that pays. Or go back to school for your nursing practitioner degree. They are payed $200k up here in San cu dze market.
watching this got me ready to quit my job tomorrow lol. ive worked overnight for the past 6 years, and like kelsey said if i died today they would replace me tomorrow.
this video was lowkey an eye open my mom raised me and my 2 brother single and a night shift er nurse
Let me know if any of you girlies went it dental hygiene, X-ray tech, ultrasound techs,
Being a hospital nurse seems hectic, but my cousin is a nurse at the VA and she loves working with the veterans..she also makes close to 100k.
