I just purchased a used microkorg two days ago and it didn't come with the manual, but this video was extremely helpful for getting the exact sound I was looking for. I greatly appreciate it!!
Just purchased mine today, I really appreciate the information concerning the vocoder feature. I hope that sometime soon, I can start uploading my projects, and progress to UA-cam. Thanks again brother! ~Joe ✌😎
I tried everything u said but still no talkbox sound and I notice if I turn my studio monitors off, I get nothing at all, not even from the Microkorg smh...Im stuck smh
It's just a vinyl tube, that goes to a talk box. You can get vinyl tubing on eBay. Or, if you don't want to wait, you can check home depot, or lowe's. The size tube you want is 3/8 outside (or it may say 3/8 OD) I think. But you can always check when you get in lowe's or home Depot, for a less thick size tubing, but not too small though. It has to fit. If you want to make your own talkbox like I did, they have horn drivers/tweeter horns on eBay. Different wattage horn drivers too.
The hose isnt connected to the korg. The hose is connected to a literal talkbox that is connected to the korg. The talkbox brings the tone of the keyboard and the mouth shape of the singer together
chris bribiescas any sound coming out of your Korg is going into a speaker. (Horn driver) or a could be a banshee foot pedal. But the sound that's going " out" through the tube is going in your mouth and u gotta shape the words out with quiet syllables from your mouth
Thank you for the tutorial! I used this patch in a cover of Coldplay's Don't Panic. I have linked to this tutorial in the description of the video. Give it a listen, I would really appreciate any feedback. Thanks! Coldplay - Don't Panic (Cover by Nate VanBuskirk and Cory Carmean)
Can you let me know what you start off with on the knobs cause I went step by step but once you go to voice and go sawtooth it doesn't sound no where near
I went through step by step it was all the same till you mention sawtooth and hit 3 it don't sound the same. I have the exact same setup banshee and the micro korg... just was wondering if maybe my knobs are on a different setting the bottom is on global mode but the top idk???
Nothing in the audio in, microkorg in synth mode instead vocoder mode, and the steps: put in monophonic mode, portamento depth 3 and lfo2 rate at 65... sorry, I can't understand the tutorial. Anybody tried this? I can't believe is a fake
He's not using the vocoder. He's using a talkbox. It's a speaker that goes through a tube you put in your mouth. The one he's using is called the Rocktron Banshee.
+Alex Martinez hmm. I can't really give you answer if I don't hear it. Or know the steps you may have missed, but I will say this, not everyone will sound the same on the talkbox.
MartinRossChronicles well after you had set your korg to mono your talk box sounded nice and clean but my korg was still playing the key notes loud through my tube I followed the steps one by one and I still didn't get that roger feel patch

I must say that as the owner of a MicroKorg I find this video to be quite instructional. Very helpful indeed. thanks for the upload! 😀
But are you using the standard mic that came with the MicroKorg?
This is an excellent tutorial. You cover everything very well and in clear details.

Thanks dude, suuuuuuper helpful. Big love
how do you make sure the patch supports vocoding? can you tweak any patch to allow for vocoding?
Are you using the little mic that came with the Korg?
Awesome tutorial. I'm going to follow it. What type of microphone tube is that? I'd like to buy one.

Cool sounds! Did you use the included mic with the MicroKorg, or did you do something else?
+Inge Andreas M. Jacobsen no no just a rocktron banshee.
What is the piano called?
MicroKorg
It's not a piano. It's a Synthesizer.
I'm confused about how you're making the mic work while doing this tutorial? I'm using the mic that came with my korg.
How do you get such a clean sound?
Hey martin can you explain me , how to install the hose to this korg ?
The hose isnt connected to the korg. The hose is connected to a literal talkbox that is connected to the korg. The talkbox brings the tone of the keyboard and the mouth shape of the singer together
Basically your talk box is a speaker
You hook that up to the korg
The tube goes into the Talk box

best tutorial in web. thanks!!!!

It's a little thin, but it def is close to the dx100 sound. Good video though.
im getting one of this from my friend.. oooweeeee..
Good vid ,Which talkbox are you using ?
Can anyone tell me how to make the keys on a patch "touch sensitive"?
Can you make a vocoder patch???
Can you let me know what you start off with on the knobs cause I went step by step but once you go to voice and go sawtooth it doesn't sound no where near
Please clearify. Not all talkboxer sound the same.
I went through step by step it was all the same till you mention sawtooth and hit 3 it don't sound the same. I have the exact same setup banshee and the micro korg... just was wondering if maybe my knobs are on a different setting the bottom is on global mode but the top idk???
So just to clarify, there is no way to get this kind of sound out of the vocoder, I have to have a talk box, right?
it is possible to have a saw wave as your vocoder option, but the clarity and quality will differ.
Nothing in the audio in, microkorg in synth mode instead vocoder mode, and the steps: put in monophonic mode, portamento depth 3 and lfo2 rate at 65... sorry, I can't understand the tutorial.

What are you using instead of a mic?
Your sick at talkbox bro :)
Are you using a tube or an actual microphone?
Would i get the same results if i was using a microphone?
If you use a mic. That's a vocoder. I use the tube to sing in to the mic.
Didnt know that there was much of a difference in sound but how do i set up the tube into the mic?
Disregard that. Im looking at your previous answer
Is it possible to set up this patch in one of logic pro's synths????
+Dr. Barry BassBox yes via rewire if it allows it to try a plugin that can cross platforms
I mean how to recreate it in logic es1 or es2
"Im a 65 guy, 4 away from 9." Nice 😉
Is there a patch for mini nova
try out a sawtooth wave formant with monophonic touch!
I set my korg to mono and it doesn't sound like the video what am I doing wrong??
+Alex Martinez hmm. I can't really give you answer if I don't hear it. Or know the steps you may have missed, but I will say this, not everyone will sound the same on the talkbox.

Nice channel 🔥 +1sub
Hi, which synth would you recommend for talkboxing?
Microkorg!
Plz take the boogers off your synth
My apologies, i went to the store but they didn't have your tongue in stock!
WE
gonna do omfg style talkbox kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk
Who speak very good in the talkbox?
Sorry. Not understanding.
MartinRossChronicles even you said it with bad grammar
You don't speak into a Talkbox. The sound comes out of the tube. You sing the sound from the Synthesizer coming out of the Talkbox.
I definitely don’t want it
For gods sake ... Read the manual!
Ah, y el video es malo, no se entiende nada. Debería hablar en español. No doy dislike de lástima.
