    This watch made it through 8 years in the Marines, 2 combat deployments and years of training exercises in mud, sand, and salt water. Looking back, I greatly UNDER appreciated this watch. Highly recommended.

      I figured out how to use it, I came here to see if I can figure out what this one thing means, the little moon icon at the clock part, But so far, ITS REALLY GOOD

    • @patata3219
      @patata3219 10 місяців тому

      When you press and hold the indiglo (glow up) button for 4 seconds, it activates the night mode, a moon icon will appear to indicate it and what it does is make the display glow whenever you press a button. You can turn that mode off by pressing and holding the indiglo button for 4 secs again or it'll deactivate within 8 hours @@jenny6609

      @@jenny6609 The moon icon is the indicator when "night mode" is activated, it usually deactivates after 6 or 8 hours by itself.

      @@LV-42617What is night mode? And is the crystal acrylic or mineral glass?

    • @LV-42617
      @LV-42617 9 місяців тому +2

      @@ashab1 Yes, the "glass" is acrylic, a bit prone to scratches but otherwise very sturdy. I actually prefer it over mineral but ymmv. Night mode means, that the watch illuminates whenever ANY button is pushed, so you can set an alarm or the timer in total darkness withouth ever need to press the light button. A very useful feature that can come in quite handy.

    I have the T5E961 watch on my wrist right now and it is easy to wear, doesn't hurt my wrist to wear it, exercise, etc.
    I used this watch while serving in the army jumping out of airplanes, helicopters, patrolling, deployment, etc.
    I still use this watch even to this very day still going strong.
    Very reliable watch.
    Thank you Timex.

    For light sport activity I always chose the ironman over the G-Shock 5600, very intuitive and better display.

    • @ChronometerCheck

      Yeah, the simplicity and legibility is part of what makes it so great! It's also a bit more ergonomic than the G-Shock

      Honestly the display is probably one of my favorite displays on any watch. Everything is so tall and easy to see. You can literally glance at it for .002 of a second and see the exact time and date. The g shocks you really gotta LOOK at it bc the everything is so small on the display

    • @LV-42617
      @LV-42617 9 місяців тому +2

      G-Shock's are tough build but in my opinion they were never meant as sports watches rather as adventurer/construction worker/LEO/military type of watches.

    I'm a competitive runner and the timex Ironman triathlon is my go to watch for training and competing. It's light, small, and the display is perfect. When it comes to digital watches, this is my favorite.

      Why not at Garmin

    • @underwaterlevelz1947
      @underwaterlevelz1947 8 місяців тому

      @@henrikbrmer6318 Honestly, only pros and pacers really need that stuff. Like 99.9% of the people that use Garmin are only doing it in a sad attempt to "flex" their weak strava data on social media. I see people posting 9 min miles, 30 min 10ks, 2.5 hour half marathons on social media ALL THE TIME. A Garmin isnt going to help someone like that, they need to stop diddling with their watch and wasting energy on their data and instead focus on their body. Checking a Garmin for stuff like VO2 max, cadence, heart rate when you're a non-competitive runner distracts you from LISTENING to your body, focusing on breathing and rhythm.

    • @underwaterlevelz1947
      @underwaterlevelz1947 8 місяців тому

      @@henrikbrmer6318 In my opinion, Garmins are really only for semi pros or pros. Your average recreational runner doesnt need it but merely wants it to flex their unimpressive strava data on social media.

    Been wearing the classic Timex Ironman Triathlon model since 2007, it's my favorite watch! I have not been wearing the same one since 2007 though, mine seem to consistently wear out after around 4 to 5 years... but it's cheap enough that I don't mind replacing them when needed. I'm glad Timex keeps making them.

    It’s nice to see Timex Ironman getting some coverage, they tend for the most part to be ignored by other watch reviewers.
    I think that’s a shame, as they are good value watches that are perfect for sports activities.

    Just got one! $44. Awesome! I really don't need many of the functions but thanks for demonstrating the Chrono, timer etc. I just like it as 38-41mm is my sweet spot size, lightweight is very important, larger digital numbers help me with my 60 year old eyes. Don't laugh, but I just wore it with a tux today. I am a concert violinist and this lightweight watch does not disturb me when I perform. Many of my other watches are too heavy or big to have on when I perform. I do love my Mechanical Hamilton Boulton but it is too heavy. It looks great with the tux but too heavy when I prrform. On this gem, I set my daily timer snd horly chime. Awesome and easy. It is easier to read than my G-shock! Love the Classic Timex Beep!

    I have a watch similar to this. Sadly, the Indigo died after only a few months of use. Got a replacement light, it also died a month later. Despite this, all other parts of the watch still work. It's the type of Indiglo that makes the numbers glow as opposed to the background.

    Greetings from a Tiny Island in Maine, USA When you are using the stopwatch, can you go back to the time and see either a symbol that the stopwatch is running or better yet a smaller version of the stopwatch? Basically, can you see the stopwatch and the current time at the same time?

    • @LV-42617
      @LV-42617 7 місяців тому +1

      Unfortunately there is no current time visible in stopwatch mode (or any other mode) but fortunately Timex always has the quick return function to main menu (time keeping mode) and yes, a small indicator in the main menu shows that stopwatch/countdown timer are running.
