  • I already have a few requests in the comments for this video and I finally decided to do it because I accidentally came across brushes that contain silver in them.Keep in mind that different types of brushes from different manufacturers and for different purposes may contain different amounts of silver or may not contain them at all.In this case we have brushes that are mostly made of graphite and copper with the addition of silver for better performance so the amount is smaller.See you in the next one freinds!

    Good to see you winning.
My find today was a 144gm sterling silver jug at the thrift store.I don't get that often so a good haul for us both.
    Now to refine it!

@@tinsoffish1810 it's drying up ,the silver ,and even silver plated items are more scarce as people are stripping them.
Inflation tends to draw people towards metals

Nice. I think it was me requesting the brushes video. Thanks dude! I'm glad you turned a profit. There are some very high-grade brushes in some stuff, I used to work for a place where we used a big 220v generator that ran on propane, it needed brushes replaced every six months and the guy who did the maintenance on it always kept the old ones. I guess they were like 30% or 50% Silver or something, they were light gray color and pretty heavy. I didn't know anyone made brushes with copper and silver mix, that's interesting.

    Always a pleasure my friend!!🤓
You need a ball mill. A handy guy like you would probably have the materials you need laying around the yard.
Maybe a good video in the future?🤔

excellent video 999 Dusan, i do these in the UK as well, to get an even better yeald i use a saturated solution of salt water instead of hydrchloric acid to drop silver to save money,
make sure to use the non iodised stuff so you avoid impurity's, sodium or potassium chloride works great for your source of chloride ions, i buy my potassium chloride cheap from industrial farm fertiliser suppliers in 25 kilo sacks. I find the silver chloride is a much thicker better quality & easier to work with using this method, have fun :)

No way this would work in many places...lye,sugar,nitric. All would cost more than the return. I will stockpile these until i can make my own lye and nitric.excellent video dusan.i wonder how big they are on locomotives🤔

Very nice silver drop. I may need to look into some of the industrial motors my friend scraps. He buys these giant motors that are used in the oil drilling industry. I’m sure they are some kind of brushed motor so will need to look into that.

I think another good video for you to do is, showing how you test items for silver content and precious metals content before you do recovery and refining. Many people do not know how to do it.

I have a question and a suggestion my question is will you get the same result if you use sodium nitrate and sulfuric acid instead of the nitric?
And my suggestion is rather than having to beat them to a powder with a hammer graphite is very soft use a 50 grit sandpaper or a coarse file and just grind them to a powder that way.
Any input on the sulfuric acid sodium nitrate for silver refining would be greatly appreciate it!!
Thanks for another great video 999!!

It probably took a lot of rock ore to get that silver in the first place, so that looks like a decent percentage.

Thanks for sharing your adventures with us.
I have 4 pounds of Diesel suet from Semi Trucks. I found it in concentrations in a Truck parking lot. Its whats left over after they auto/manually clean their smoke stacks (which must be done every 75,000 miles).
I believe its full of precious metals.
I wanted to know your thoughts on this.
Would you attempt to find out?
If so, what process would you use?
If there is anything in it.. it's NANO in size.. so what process would you use to find out?

I wonder if it was ground to a powder if the yield would be even more.
An ounce of silver is pretty damn good.
Are you going to be able to get more of these??

Why do sugars and caustics get together?

    • @Brad656
      @Brad656 2 роки тому +2

Caustic turns silver chloride into silver oxide, then sugar turns silver oxide into elemental silver. Very exothermic reactions. Always let cool b4 each step. 👍
