  • Palladium recovery from copper waste solution
in this video I'll demonstrate the easiest way to separate palladium from copper in a very diluted solution .
DMG is a very useful chemical which can isolate Palladium from waste solutions selectively.

Another benefit of the smelting with collector metal - gets almost all precious metals

I generally favor it over other methods in most cases. That's pretty straightforward .

Hello, interesting project and nice result. I do not have so much material to work with, also, DMG costs kidney here... I am very afraid to work with PGMs, nasty stuff in solution... Gold and silver are challenging enough for me for now... 😀

      Thanks mate!
I agree. Working with PGMs requires high precautions. Don't mess with them until you know what you are doing. DMG is indeed expensive; perhaps some Chinese-made alternatives could be found for less money..

Remember that nasty stuff is in your gold silver solutions just as dangerous before you try and recover PGMs

@@jamisontaylor878 I know, so for now, I am avoiding white gold and dental gold. Using cupelation where posible to avoid work with metal solutions. Lots of silver scrap waiting for purification, I will work with solutions with caution... Thanks.

You missed the part where zinc powder is purified in nitric acid to release the palladium from it! A bit faster video, but nice demo video!

      Thank you!
Boiling in the same solution ( Remaining chloride solution) for 5 minutes removed the last bit of zinc.
I didn't do any extra leaching steps.

@@PickyPlans youre Welcome. You make a very good job.I am in this business.I send from a month 480 kilo server ram, about 600 kilo pinless cpu, 80 kilo ceramic chips and 2200 kilo motherboards to a company that refine it for me to get out silver, gold, palladium and copper.I am wondering how much is it in this.i will let you know😂

By doing a rough Calculation you should expect 750-800 grams of gold
150 grams of palladium and 5 kg of silver

To dissolve the Pd-DMG complex and clean the dirt from it. Another solvent is ammonia but hard to dissolve the complex in.

      @@PickyPlanshow to make dmg ?

    • @PickyPlans
      @PickyPlans  4 місяці тому +1

There is a team at the University where I graduated from. They synthesize DMG.
I get their waste solution, after drying to a crust, by redissolving in NaOH and filtration and reacidifying the solution i get a fairly good product for my usees.
