Three (3) things Autel has that I like a lot. The Geo Fencing, The colors, and great camera's? Other than that? They're not the same weight class, so why compare them? Thanks for sharing, I enjoyed the video. Thanks again. 👍👍👍
I think they compare because the sensor is almost as big as the air2s's, and the 1.7 aperture makes up for low light sensitivity. As I understand it, this makes the sensor almost as good as the air2s's sensor.. so why not comparing it, when a sub 250g drone is ALMOST the same picture quality than the bigger 500g drone?...price is comparable too. it is not all about weight. I think that the mini3 is the one to get. about 100 dollars cheaper, less weight, less problems, but below 250g...
It was the lack of geofencing that made the decision for me to go with Autel drones. One thing this reviewer missed is that the Nano+ uses a Leica camera and lens system which allows for 40% greater detail and quality in low-light situations over the DJI Mini 3 Pro. Had this discussion with a friend a couple of weeks ago after I flew his Autel Nano + for the first time. I agree with what you said that something always feels "off" about the Autel. It's good, but it's not a DJI. Even my friend who's an Autel fan is planning to make the switch. DJI people owe me money!
yeah the flight characteristics are just top quality on DJI Autel may have a better camera and night shooter.... but the flying is trash- build quality is a scam for what the asking price is.
Thanks, great side by side review. I've always flown DJI (and still do) and bought a Nano+ in January. My expectations were high and overall it's a great bit of kit, just a shame it's not updated to the level it was advertised. Hopefully this happens soon (before Mini 3 Pro stock is avaialable in UK or I'll end up buying another drone and will need some new wife/new drone lies) :) Thanks!
Thanks for the comparison as I'm currently on the fence on which ones to get next. The geo fencing does weigh a lot as I am surrounded by red zones on 3 sides of my house. .I have just one issue. Flat ground flyers won't notice this yet if you fly high elevations it does. The lower sensor on the mini 1-2, has a serious defect. It truly doesn't tell you how far off the ground you are. I would imagine the Mini 3 is the same. I always fly VLOS and hug the mountain as I go up. Next thing I notice is my elevation reads 760. Yet I am skimming 25 ft pines. As much as i'd like to spend money on the M3 or the Nano, your reviews of the Air 2s have sold me. Thanks again for covering all the specs as well as real flight situations.
Hi Aldryn. Good honest observations on both drones. I for one do not regret getting the Nano+ as I purchased it when it was only $799 for the Standard Bundle. I never had JELLO in my footage but had it replaced via Autel Care because I crashed it due to my own error. The replacement has been nothing but a joy to fly; no disconnects, great range & the night video is rarely matched, even by my Mavic 3! Don't need Obstacle Avoidance. I have a Mini 2 which I only use as a daytime spare. I will be buying the Mini 3 Pro once the range issues get ironed out & more importantly a firmware update is released to allow it to be controlled by my RC Pro controller.
So far I have not yet seeing any DJI drones filming better night footage then the Nano+. There is Zero youtube videos showing a better footage in details, colors, dynamic range. Great video comparison and I like the way you do a battery life test in hover mode for the entire duration. Very clever. In video side by side comparison the autel nano was definitely crisper and clearer detail wise, whilst the dji mini 3 Pro video was too soft, so overall great side by side comparison. People that can not see the amazing pictures quality of the Nano+ have a tunnel vision or glaucoma. Even a kid can tell a difference. People follow others a cult to believe on anything they can not see. I did show the Nano+ and the Mavic 3 Cine footage in a 8k television and everyone just say “wow” when they saw the Nano+ amazing pictures quality.
@BwayneAnnaLee Why there are churches and gods? Some believe in on anything when proven is right in front their light of sights. Now, it does not matter how amazing the Nano+ footage is, 🧠 watching by DJI fanatics will believe on anything.
It's hard to argue the case for the Nano+ against the Min3 pro. In the UK, with the RC (built in screen) the Mini 3 sits at £859, and the Nano+ £859 with the standard remote. Top marks DJI. Aldyn, how does the Mini 3 compare to the Air 2s?
Hello Aldryn, thank you for this outstanding side-by-side comparison of the DJI Mini 3 & Autel Nano+. There are a lot of similarities in these two drones. I’m happy to see another manufacturer bring like drones to the marketplace. Thanks again for all the useful information and testing🙏🙏
don't let his bias review sway you. I own the nano+ and evo2 lite. I have no problem with both. sold my Mavic 2s 3 months ago. too ristricting software and i wasnt getting the color grading experience I wanted. I sometimes wonder what these bias reviews generate for the said reviewer. like who is funding them. listen to his review. only 1 praise for the nano+. lol unless you own and have flown an Autel after owning a few DJI. you will understand why Autel is superior in build and Camera
I have the mini 2 and the Mavic Air 2 and here in FL I can't fly in a lot of places and my friends told me but I didn't listen. I just ordered my Nano and I'm done DJI. The drone can have the best of everything but that doesn't matter if geofencing won't let you fly it.
This is a comparison many have been waiting for, and you did a really good job of covering almost everything here. And that was a very interesting side bar about how the tracking feature almost worked on the Nano after flying it directly after the LIte. For someone who is looking for the best all around drone, with the most features, we have a clear cut winner here. Great review, and thanks for sharing.
Honestly the mini 3 is a beast of a drone and whether you’re a beginner or not this is a must have! You’re getting a mavic air 2 level drone if not better with the compact ability of the mini. You can literally take this with you just about anywhere with ease and should be able to get amazing shots whenever you want and while the nano looks like a good drone DJI seems to do it way better. As always awesome video!
The mini 3 is a fine little drone that will do what many feel is good enough. A beast it's not, that title goes to the mini 3 pro. The mini 3 camera is not up to par with the nano+ or mini 3 pro
one thing that most never talk about is smart phone connectivity. I had to upgrade to a newer phone that was compatiable with the DJI Fly app. which sucks. I did not think after buying a $800 product, I would later have to upgrade my whole life style to fit the needs of the drone. not cool at all!! I bought 5 different Samsung phones hoping that I would not have to dish out another 600 for a Samsung Galaxy to infinity and beyond. I'm not an Apple product fan since DJI prefers Apple. luckly I found a refurished Sam Gal 10+ for 250, I get it today, after swtiching to this new phone if the phone is not compatible witht the drone like the website says it should be. then I'm returning everything I bought and it's either I upgrade to the remote with builtin screen or leave this product alone for the next few years until they are compatible with the majority of phones out, and not the select few that are worth $500+ I think if I would have known about this issue ahead of time, I would have never bother with buying DJI Mavic Air 2. Again none of you UA-camrs talk about that issue. not everyone has the top leading edge smartphone, so talk about thoses issues as well.
Nice comparison. I think the Mini 3 wins overall... The Nano + is better in low light conditions tough... Everywhere else the Mini 3 is superior. Don't let the digital over sharpening in the Nano mislead you, you can easily achieve that with the Mini 3 as well in post, if you like.
I agree. Everyone thinks because it’s so sharp it’s better but to me it kind of looks fake because its so sharp. But at the end of the day people like the looks that they like.
Whilst the Mini 3 is a more polished drone in general, the Nano+ has a RYYB camera sensor. Comparing RYYB v RGGB is like comparing chalk and cheese. For the many people who don't understand the RYYB sensor, it provides far more image detail (not sharpness), better dynamic range and superior low light performance than the Mini 3 RGGB sensor. Try getting the Mini 3 to turn night into day, it can't... take a look at this - ua-cam.com/video/nVuL1SplIqQ/v-deo.html I always buy a drone for the quality of its camera, and the Nano+ very easily outperforms the Mini 3 in the camera department. And no geofencing with Autel drones. If I only want a better flying drone I would purchase the Mini 3.
shhhh, be careful what you say. you don't want to hurt the DJI fanboys feelings about their restricted drones. you know. the ones they mass producs and mark up 800%. ... most of them bash Autel but never really have flown any of them let alone visually see the image quality side to side. im still amazed that my Nano+ has better 4k image than my 2s. but hey . Thats Autel Camera
Does either have Waypoint tracking or Preset Path? I’m in Colorado and want a drone that I can set to follow to a specific location or follow a specific path. Thoughts? I prefer under 250g so I can carry it and don’t have to worry about registration, pilot courses, etc. this is going to be used to pre-scout a hiking trail or camping sites.
@@lazyman1011 They had to sacrifice the fan for the weight. They designed it so that in flight air will circulate but on the ground it'll self shut off due to heat.
Thanks for this, it's really nice to get to see what's out there without bias - I'm kinda new to drones and like "tried and true" so I would go with the DJI mini 3. I like the estethic of the mini 3 to, it's a nice looking drone. :)
Nice review. Was hoping they were equal. Thought about upgrading to the mini3 from 2 but didn’t fly mine enough to spend the money. I did something stupid last week and lost the drone in high winds 🤬 tracked it to where it said it was and I couldn’t find it! I guess I’ll have to put a order in for the mini3
nailed it judiciously!!! If only Autel will listen to people like you and release firmware updates to fix their issues, their drone would have been quite reliable. I have a Nano+ and I chew my fingers every time in anticipation for a firmware update that is either fixing something or bringing something new but the wait keeps prolonging. Great video
Thanks for the review and comparison. I had to pull the trigger, and I replaced my mini 1 with the mini 2. It was either that or wait till Christmas for the M3P. There is a "new" drone on the market, not yet available in Australia maybe you could do a review and comparison on and that's the EXO Blackhawk 2 Mini
Due to the high price of these two guys they could of at least included an extra battery. I'm guessing the extended life battery on the DJI puts it over the 250 gram mark, just guessing.
You are buying a flying camera. The Nano+ has best video, best remote, better with video definition, colors, dynamic range, low light and a better remote controller, 🧱 bricks remotes belongs to the 80’s. Note, you can not sharpening missing information. Sharpening and definition are different things. You can see clearly on this video how crap the mini 3 footage looks besides the Nano+ footage.
Hello I want your honest opinion concerning the mini 3 pro I’m hearing about range issues can this be fixed with a firmware update I’m interested in buying the mini 3 but don’t want range issues this is very important.
It went up from 500 to 750 but now has the capabilities on par with the air 2s? All in the package of a mini? I don’t see a problem with the pricing tbh.
I’m thinking of selling my mini2 at the end of the year to buy a newer drone. I’m stuck on whether to go for the mini 3 or air 2. I don’t mind going over 250grams as I’m already registered but still not sure which one to get
I think this is like Android fans and IPhone fans. How can anyone tell that the photos or videos look better on dji? Are we not watching the same review? I'm here because I want to buy one of these and I really don't know why would I be choosing dji. The video detail on autel is far better. The pictures as well. Are we not buying them for video and photo? As someone mentioned before. You can't sharpen what is not there. Nice review!
I agree with you 100%. Mini 3 has not convinced me at all. Not having obstacle sensors is not an issue. The only thing i miss on mi Mini 2 is not having the FOLLOW ME option. But iguess i will hang on to my 2 for now.
@Emotion Air No, to be honest i haven`t tried it yet. Matter of fact i just found out it even exists. But i`m not sure i would pay so much money for a couple of sensors. Don`t get me wrong man. The drone looks good and as i said, nothing better out there than DJI. I just guess that the Mini 2 is definitely good enough for me for the time being. Best wishes all the way from Spain. Keep it up dude.
@@Ivan_Bagnasco Yea I agree I’m not going to pay that price when your really paying almost double for a few more sensors. Maybe I will try it once I can afford it😂
Thanks, DJI has the edge and will for awhile. Great product and nobody can challenge the DJI cost structure given their massive distribution network. I have the Nano+ and don't need the tracking but still a negative that it has taken this long to get it out there. Was at my uncles place the other weekend and he was pissed because he just got a Mini 2 and happened to be in a DJI restricted zone even though in Canada it would have been legal to fly the sub-250's in his yard. He ordered the nano+ after I showed him it would launch. Still want (but absolutely don't need) the Mini 3... but may wait until the scattered range issues are resolved.
@@markpalmer8083 a location where you are legally permitted for flight but DJI themselves will not allow it without taking time to contact them and have your drone enabled for the specific area.
Aldrin, sounds interesting to change the drone while the app is still running. I wonder what might happen whenn doing the same "hack" with dji drones and the fly app... E.g. flying the mavic 3 first and then changing to a mini 3 pro. It's just a guess, but hopefully it will be recognized by the app to avoid any strange behavior. However, many thanks for another very interesting video.
Hi Aldryn! Fabulous! 👏You amaze me again: a clear, understandable, quick and complete overview of all functional features and design. DJI is the market leader globally in the drones sector and thats only possible because have the best in class product with and best in class support but their prices are increased drastically during the last 4 years
I paid less for the Mini 3 than I did for the Mavic Pro in 2016, and it's an improvement in pretty much all respects. Considering inflation, chip shortages and worldwide logistics issues, I find that somewhat suprising.
@@mascot4950 But The mavic Pro 2 came with side obstacle Avoidance and better low light and stability in high winds. reason why DJI cut corners on most of their current release removing side sendors. thay wanted to cut cost but sell you a far more expensive drone on its base model. the jump from the initial first mini to the 3rd generation mini has grown $600 more. occusync has always been wishy washy after 1.5 miles.
@@jamessepulveda5202 I haven't looked at, and compared, every drone they've released since the original Mavic Pro. It could well be that they got cheaper and then more expensive again. Or that it makes sense to compare the original Mavic Pro to today's top of the line products. If so, fair enough. As for side obstacle avoidance, the Mini 3 at least has a sensible explanation, it needed to be kept below 250 grams. That's no small task while keeping it as fully featured as it is. It weighs in at 249 grams, so any additional sensors would have meant something else would have had to get removed, or the battery cut down even further.
Interesting video. I've a Mavic 2 Pro. I'm quite happy with it. But it is a bit big/heavy while hiking. The big advantage of the 2 Pro, is that I can SEE it and fly it by view!
That's a shame, Autel would've had a chance to compete if they just kept their original controller with the built in screen, and tracking. Come on Autel, $100 Cheapo Amazon drone can even track bro...

I greed with you 110% Also there is a difference between facts and unicorn 🦄 believe. I show the Nano+ to over 10 people at once and the Mavic 3 cine footage in a 8k television and every one said the same thing when they saw the Nano+ footage! “wow! it has more details and the colors and the dynamic range impressive” they said that.
I sometimes wonder what these bias reviews generate for the said reviewer. like who is funding them. listen to his review. only 1 praise for the nano+. lol unless you own and have flown an Autel after owning a few DJI. you will understand why Autel is superior
in build and Camera
completely agree with you
i have both drones and autel is superior
I have the mini 2 and the Mavic Air 2 and here in FL I can't fly in a lot of places and my friends told me but I didn't listen. I just ordered my Nano and I'm done DJI. The drone can have the best of everything but that doesn't matter if geofencing won't let you fly it.
So for the most part you’d suggest the DJI mini 3 pro?
Nice comparison. For me, the image quality is top priority followed by range/connectivity. But the Mini 3 controller with screen is so nice to have
This is a comparison many have been waiting for, and you did a really good job of covering almost everything here.
Yep you can just about take the mini 3 anywhere and get amazing shots accepting restricted geofencing areas👎
The mini 3 is a fine little drone that will do what many feel is good enough. A beast it's not, that title goes to the mini 3 pro.
The mini 3 camera is not up to par with the nano+ or mini 3 pro
I’ve always been a DJI man. I’ve also been following since your early days.
one thing that most never talk about is smart phone connectivity. I'm not an Apple product fan since DJI prefers Apple. luckly I found a refurished Sam Gal 10+ for 250, I get it today, after swtiching to this new phone if the phone is not compatible witht the drone like the website says it should be. then I'm returning everything I bought and it's either I upgrade to the remote with builtin screen or leave this product alone for the next few years until they are compatible with the majority of phones out, and not the select few that are worth $500+
I think if I would have known about this issue ahead of time, I would have never bother with buying DJI Mavic Air 2. Again none of you UA-camrs talk about that issue. not everyone has the top leading edge smartphone, so talk about thoses issues as well.
Does Mini 3 have better wind resistance when using bigger battery comparing to its standard battery with Mini 3?
Nice comparison. I think the Mini 3 wins overall... The Nano + is better in low light conditions tough... Everywhere else the Mini 3 is superior. Don't let the digital over sharpening in the Nano mislead you, you can easily achieve that with the Mini 3 as well in post, if you like.
I agree. Everyone thinks because it’s so sharp it’s better but to me it kind of looks fake because its so sharp. But at the end of the day people like the looks that they like.
Nice, useful Info 👍🏻
How's the Camera compared to Samsung S22 Ultra & iPhone 13 Ultra
Whilst the Mini 3 is a more polished drone in general, the Nano+ has a RYYB camera sensor.
Comparing RYYB v RGGB is like comparing chalk and cheese.
For the many people who don't understand the RYYB sensor, it provides far more image detail (not sharpness), better dynamic range and superior low light performance than the Mini 3 RGGB sensor.
Try getting the Mini 3 to turn night into day, it can't... take a look at this - ua-cam.com/video/nVuL1SplIqQ/v-deo.html
I always buy a drone for the quality of its camera, and the Nano+ very easily outperforms the Mini 3 in the camera department.
@@jamessepulveda5202 yes DJI consumer drones have more mature appware & fly better, but Autel drones have superior cameras compared to DJI.
Best comparison on youtube!
What a Fantastic Comparison Thank You Sir.
Happy Flying!
Great to see a comparison of the two. Fantastic videos Aldryn!
If I have a choice of the two, the mini 3 with the smart controller it’s only $30 dollars more than the standard price of the nano+
Yup, questions answered thank you.
The years of experience in the industry will always have an edge in terms of both hardware and software, so it's the DJI Mini 3 Pro for me!
This is all well and good but people want the elephant in the room regarding the Mini Pro addressed ... are the range issues solved?
And the heat issues?
@@lazyman1011 They had to sacrifice the fan for the weight. They designed it so that in flight air will circulate but on the ground it'll self shut off due to heat.
@@jayymorris5285 Long hover is a problem then for me.
No low light comparison? The main reason to go with either drone is low light for me...
My ONE problem with the Mini is the geo fencing. I can't fly at my own house so I gotta travel somewhere to practice how to fly it.
Wow thats super gay
A friend flew the nano straight towards me on breaking i noticed it jittered slightly not sure why it happened
Any Exo drone comparison?
this video make me hurry up on get the Autel, thanks .
nailed it judiciously!!! If only Autel will listen to people like you and release firmware updates to fix their issues, their drone would have been quite reliable. I have a Nano+ and I chew my fingers every time in anticipation for a firmware update that is either fixing something or bringing something new but the wait keeps prolonging. Great video
What's the hover time on the 47 minute battery?
I expect less than 47 minutes, hoovering is not efficient.
Like to know this question also what the flight time is.
Forever if you're in a restricted Red Zone😂 geofencing sucks
Autel Evo II Pro beats DJI as the best workhorse, beautiful footage and very solid. You just have to do compass calibrations for every location
What about sound?
Best remote?? Lol with no screen
I was wondering, thanks.
Good comparison video Aldryn
DEFINITELY NEED THE DJI MINI 3
Hello I want your honest opinion concerning the mini 3 pro I’m hearing about range issues can this be fixed with a firmware update I’m interested in buying the mini 3 but don’t want range issues this is very important.
How would he know if it can be fix with firmware?
The DJI's mini line has gone up in price to a more inaccessible point now.
It went up from 500 to 750 but now has the capabilities on par with the air 2s? All in the package of a mini? I don’t see a problem with the pricing tbh.
@@HayateV3 hayır. 600'den 900'e fiyat artışı
300$ fly more c.
And it still has geofencing which needs to go especially on a sub 250 drone👎
Great comparison vid. It helps weigh your options based on how you intend to use it.
Another great review. Thanks and cheers from Wisconsin.
A fantastic video for the budget drone buyers. Thanks Aldryn
And a great video for the drone snobs to leave their comments.
Try out the new Fimi x8 2022 model! It seems to have the best bang for your buck
I’m thinking of selling my mini2 at the end of the year to buy a newer drone. I’m stuck on whether to go for the mini 3 or air 2. I don’t mind going over 250grams as I’m already registered but still not sure which one to get
Mini or nano from autel! Can take it more places.
How too bay po sir
Appreciate the review. Very detailed information about two very good drones hot on the market.
Thorough presentation.well done. Thanks for posting. Salut
Great comparison between the two, I still like the Mini 3 Pro 😬
Under 250 grams.... you save 5.00 bucks for registration in the USA. All other laws apply and you still have to take the TRUST test.
But when you travel to Europe on vacation under 250g is a big deal
Great video. This is giving me the information I need to make the right decision.
I most definetly need the Mini 3, been using the original mini and its not cutting it no more lol
I still think that the mini 2 is the best drone because of the price
Maybe I will try it once I can afford it😂
Any issues with range on the mini 3?
I have one on order…
If you live in EU or AU then yes. If you live in the US then your fine.
Please make one on the future of DJI RC. thanks.
What is a DJI restricted zone?
@@markpalmer8083 a location where you are legally permitted for flight but DJI themselves will not allow it without taking time to contact them and have your drone enabled for the specific area.
Great comparison and excellent video production. V nicely done.
Glad you liked it!
good one the mini 3 pro many problems i ' ll wait for the mini 3s pro
Both drones look great! Thanks for the useful information. The mini 3 looks good.
Great video, I'll take inspiration for a comparison
Aldrin, sounds interesting to change the drone while the app is still running. I wonder what might happen whenn doing the same "hack" with dji drones and the fly app... E.g. flying the mavic 3 first and then changing to a mini 3 pro. It's just a guess, but hopefully it will be recognized by the app to avoid any strange behavior.
However, many thanks for another very interesting video.
Hi Aldryn! Fabulous! 👏You amaze me again: a clear, understandable, quick and complete overview of all functional features and design. I have been waiting for this review for a long time and it will help me in choosing. I also recommend it to my colleagues as a ray of light in a dark realm. Good luck and good mood! 👌
Very nice sir to comparison,
Great Video Again!👍
Thanks much buzz aldryn
Hi friend. Valid presentation, please.
Let's keep pace. Towards new adventures 👣 Greetings from Helsinki, Finland 🇫🇮
They both are very good drone but DJI has a better battery life and camera and the price is a bit low for the rc-n1 controler
Both are good, but for me, the RC Controller is the best package!!
From low light, night video I’ve seen, the Nano is superior. And yes, no geofencing.
Awesome glad I went with dji
Mini 2 is still the best drone rite now for the price and features, under 250gm
💯💯
I am keeping my mini 2 and air 2s until they die… not going to upgrade
But there's a dark cloud over the geofencing on the DJI👎
It's really no longer up for debate at this point. Pit Autel against DJI and DJI will always ALWAYS come out on top.
GREAT VIDEO
Great breakdown!
Appreciate it!
Interesting video. I've a Mavic 2 Pro. I'm quite happy with it. But it is a bit big/heavy while hiking. The big advantage of the 2 Pro, is that I can SEE it and fly it by view!
Has anyone contacted DJI about issues with Range.
I like to fly my drones far away.
Nice video. DJI drones are easier to use in general.
Unless you're about to fly in a restricted Zone and try to bypass😂
👍Top video, thanks🌷
Very good video.....
great vid
That's a shame, Autel would've had a chance to compete if they just kept their original controller with the built in screen, and tracking. Come on Autel, $100 Cheapo Amazon drone can even track bro...
No one can match the level of DJI in making drones i just ❤️ their products
Skydio are better than DJI but they are more expensive, it all depends on how much you want to
pay and if you want to stick with sub-250 gr drones.
Yeah except for their bull💩 geofencing crap👎 sorry I don't like to be told where I can hover my toy drone, sub 250 drones should not have geofencing...period!!!
Ill take the mini 3 pro all day
I can’t afford the dji mini 3 would love to win the give away!
The Ultimate. Sub 250. Showdown.
8 vs 10 ☺️😁
