Looks like a way better situation! Good luck on the move and settling in, looks like you'll have some fun there with that view of farm life nearby. You'll get there when the timing's right 👍
You're so right. I'll get there when the timing is right
I’m glad I found y’all now, can’t wait to learn and see how y’all over come new obstacles. This is our first year growing a real garden and animals. We too started a UA-cam channel and are slowly doing videos of our learning process and adventures in homesteading.
Thanks! Starting over is daunting but exciting! Good luck on your journey as well 😊
I'm so sorry that happened. It's bittersweet leaving a home for a new one.
It definitely is bittersweet but I am thankful we had the means to do so
Crazy! Everything fell into place to get you out of there, I'm sure you guys will find that future homestead.
It really did all lay out just right. It may not have been the move I was hoping for but it was the move my family needed
That looked like a big backyard for a nice size garden. Glad y’all got moved safely.
Me too!!! I'm excited to see what I can make this little yard do for us! And the front has a lot of potential, too!
Hello and welcome (back) to Central Arkansas! I am thrilled to have a local homesteading channel to follow again!
Yay I'm glad!
Wow. Scary. This is why I moved. Drive bys were all too common. Even on our block
yea it sure is scary
Congrats on your new adventure!
Thank you!!!
Awe Kira I have Ben in the same boat I had an urban garden and worked so hard on my home and when I married Tom I had to see all of that work just go away! I am thankful for that time and with a lot of prayer I have the homestead I had wanted for a very long time. God works things out. I am so happy for you guy back home. I am sad I never got to meet you in Oklahoma! But some day I want to meet y’all! May God bless you and I am so excited to see you take a blank canvas and create a work of art! I can’t wait! Blessings Kira! Wendy❤️🌷🌺🌸🐞
Awww Wendy I'm so glad you got your homestead!
@@HomesteadDreaming you will have yours!!! Looking forward to seeing your videos!
Oh my goodness how terrifying! What an exciting transition into a new chapter for y’all! Can’t wait to follow along 💕
It was a really scary experience and I am thankful that we have this new aspect of our journey!
Sorry for your unsettling incident.
Now to something more positive and exciting….gardening! You have a beautiful blank slate and flat backyard. Not to mention a possible endless supply of horse manure😉. I live a restrictive suburban neighborhood and had do to some outside the box thinking. But it’s working very well for me. I look forward to following your new journey.
Thank you, I'm super excited to see what we can make this space do for us 😊
Welcome back to Arkansas!! We are also in the central arkansas area and actually moved back here from Oklahoma about 7 years ago. Wishing your family blessings on your new journey!
Awesome! Thank you! I'm so glad to be back near family
Welcome home! I know kids are happy your back❤️❤️🌻
I'm so glad to be back! Gotta swing by sometime soon and see your greenhouse it looks stunning!
Ugh. Totally understand why you decided to move!
So happy to see you are back!! I missed your vlogs! So glad your family is safe!
Thank you so much!! I'm glad we're in a safer space
ahhhh fucking crazy! I was wondering where you had been, I was creeping your instagram a couple of weeks ago to see if you were still alive lololol! sometimes things need to end for new life to begin, cheers to your new journey :D
You're back in IG!?
YESSSSS! This was perfect
Wow! Exciting adventures coming your way, I'm sure!!
I hope so!!
You got this woman.... A new beginning. A-build it how YOU want it. Can't wait to see it... I believe in you totally.. 😎😍💖
Thanks!! I'm excited to see what I can make of this yard 😊
Me too. I i am SO excited! 😁😍😎
Shootings are scary, and when it happens so close to home, its pretty hard to shake. There was a school shooting in the school district my husband and I attended growing up (after we had graduated, married and started a family), and it was a deciding factor for homeschooling our children, who would have otherwise attended that district when they were old enough, and ultimately it was one factor that did affect our decision to move away from the area. In our case, we moved away from where we grew up.
You did the right thing for your family right now. For now, focus on the new possibilities and what you can do with what you have, and keep looking for that perfect land. You will get there one day, maybe even sooner than you think. Now you can breathe a little easier while you pursue those dreams.
Sending virtual (hugs). If its ok, I'll light a candle for peace for you.
Thank you I really appreciate it! It's been one of the easiest yet most difficult decisions I've ever made. I know it's the right move for my family even if it's not quite what I had envisioned or hoped for
best wishes for your all family
I’m sorry you and your family have been going through all this.
I’m looking forward to seeing what you do with the property.
Thank you 💚
The micro tomato plants like Micro Tom stay a cute size maybe they could go in a front yard or berries or a pollinator garden?I don't have a hoa but I have been working on doing an edible landscape style in the front rather then straight up garden beds. Love your channel, sorry you had crazy stuff happen at your old house!
Yea im so glad we moved, a house 4 houses down got raided on the 15th and they found over $30k worth of fentanyl pills in the house, guns, and multiple thousand dollars of dirty money. They even have small children living there. I'm so angry to know my children lived so close to that.
I am sorry to hear you had to leave. I cried at the part where you talked about your not being ready to leave. We had a 10 year old homestead in Northern Calif. and the fires drove us out. We are now in suburbia as well, on .25 ac. and we're planning fence, probably quail (because there are loads of regulations around chickens) and lots of veggies. We have quite the deer population in our neighborhood though, so no front yard gardening for us....It will be interesting to see what you create.
Are quail not counted as livestock? The city allows quail without special permits and coop arrangements?
Where I live we’re allowed 4 hens. I can’t find any info about quail though.
I'm so sorry you had to leave your homestead! I get so sad when I think that this move wasn't to a homestead but I'm so happy when I remember that my children are safe here. Hopefully you'll have you that homestead again one day, even if it's not the same one
Excited to see what you do with your new property . I was also born and raised in Arkansas but seemed to be stuck here in Iowa ,I do dream of moving back one day.
Thank you! Hoping you can make it back, too!
You know I've been excited about the move!
Haha me too
Congrats on your move!! I'm so excited to follow the journey! I also garden out of my backyard (and front yard flower beds) in a city plot... no animals, but lots of veggies and flowers. I've missed your videos lately, but obviously you've been super busy! ❤️
Thank you! I miss posting the videos but I just haven't been able to sit and edit anything with all the packing and unpacking but I'm getting back into the swing of it 😊
Nice to see a video from you! I'm sorry y'all had to endure something like that..I can only imagine how horrible that would be.
Also, I live in Central Arkansas too! I hope you're going to do progress videos? I'd love to see what your plans are!!
I swear that all my favorite gardening channels are Arkansas based. Such a great growing calendar, they get a bit of everything.
I’m in 9b and it’s surprising how limited we are. Nobody considers what it’s like to garden in 110F. It’s terrible. I wish I was in zone 8 ALL THE TIME. 😂
@@melissasullivan1658 I used to live in San Diego and really miss the things I could grow there! 7b is really challenging sometimes.
Thanks for watching I really appreciate it! It's good to be back in Arkansas
I understand the safety aspect. We used to be in Omaha nicknamed "mini Chicago" and "Omaha Ne-blast-ya" we personally had issues in one of our old neighborhoods. Always sad, but hey new beginnings!!!
Yea if it wasn't for the crime I would have stayed put until we found land but my children don't deserve to have to grow up with that around them so we did what we had to do
@@HomesteadDreaming exactly! Your gardens were just amazing and you'll do that 10x over again and it'll be amazing still!
👍😎👍
New subscriber here! 😊 I'm glad you made a decision that was best for your little family! We're also small backyard homesteaders with dreams for a bigger future, but for now, this is just right for us! I look forward to seeing what you do with your new space!
Yay! Thanks for being here!! I really do think I made the best choice we could have given the circumstances
Awwww Girl it's good to hear your voice. What a wild corner you had there. Had no idea you had to deal with that. So happy you were able to move back in your old home to start over. It's going to be nice to see what you do with that space.
Oh man it was wild on that corner! I am so so thankful that we decided not to sell this house we moved back to when we left. I'm excited to get things started lol
Wow. I’m so sorry y’all had to uproot so fast and for such a serious reason.
I can’t imagine having that go down essentially in my front yard.
Wishing y’all the best dreamin in the new digs 👍
Thank you! It was surreal! I never imagined that could happen so close
I'm glad you and your family are okay. New beginnings are always exciting! I can't wait to see what you can do in your new space.
Best wishes!
❤🙏
Thank you so much!
Very well done Kira! I'm glad things worked out so well in the timing for your move! Looking forward to seeing what lies ahead for you guys! I'm totally jealous of that cast iron wall too. 😁❤
Girl we gotta set you up with a wall
I felt this video so much. Im so glad you all stayed safe and are now in a safer location. I know what it’s like to not feel safe in your own home because of who is around you… and nobody should have to live that way. I’m excited for your new adventure and can’t wait to watch it unfold. 💜 and I hope we are closer when we get to where we are so I can hug your neck. :)
Right I know you're dealing with something similar
What big news! I’m excited to see what you do with the new property . Welcome back home to your family .
Thank you! I can't wait to show what all I have planned 😊
Looking forward to your continued journey. 🌱 Glad you are all safe and the kids have no recollection. Whewww 😬
I am so thankful they don't remember it at all! Thank you
Check out the book Edible Landscaping by Rosalind Creasy (if you haven't already) It might help with the front yard.
Yes ! Good for you !
Seek an upright place to raise your children !
I agree 100% !
It's so amazing when you open your eye's and see , know and live and watch the destruction tearing a community down ! The Meth that is rolling into this country right now and the lack of care for the boarders! In 2 more years what you have seen down the street will be everyday occurence. Make's me sad but I see it coming .
God Bless you and your family ! You are making a wise choice ! God Bless !
Definitely made this decision for the welfare of my babies
WPS!!
NEVER STOP DREAMING!!!!! When people say your crazy when you tell them your dreams/goals, Just remember they're not their dreams/goals they're yours. Then you ask them what their dreams/goals are. I'm 63 years old and my dreams/goals have changed many times over the years. Every time they've changed God showed me that I wasn't dreaming big enough...
Remember that every change is bringing you closer to reaching your dream. Keep your trust in GOD and remind GOD of your dreams every now and then. I helps build your spiritual body stronger.....
I got so much I could say about living out for the dreams/goals God has put in your heart for you to work toward. My dreams keep getting bigger the older I get and I dare not tell my wife of 43yrs. any more about them. Because she tiered of hearing it... She sees that right now I physically incapable of reaching my dreams/goals and I tell her that GOD ain't finished with me yet....
Be blessed my young one in Jesus name... BBE..
That would be scary.
It was very scary
My heart breaks for you. We have moved lots of times over the last 33 years of our marriage. Your sadness hit me in the gut. I know this feeling all to well. It does turn out, but it hurts to get there.
I have to ask, does your area have a community garden? If not, what about starting one? Maybe teaching others to garden would help ease your pain.
Thank you! I will have to do some research and see if there is anything near here and if not I'll have to see what I can do
Gun violence has blown up in my small city this year, like 4x as much as 2020/21 - it’s been crazy.
Your local reunions will be epic, as will your garden. :)
I'm so excited to see all my people again! I was really surprised by the incident but it wasn't the first one in the area and not even the first one by this specific individual
