Scratch TIG would be an alternative as my welder is equipped for that. But the cheapest 10 liter argon cylinders+the TIG torch together would cost as much as a cheap flux core MIG welder over here.
Sweet! But dang so much cool improvising and handwork, but then use a welder, which I don’t have! 😜 I guess tabs and rivets would work on those corners.
These are these, go buy one plastic 2€, and throw it away broken in a year. Make one within a week, and your great great great grandkids say to their kids, "Yeah, your relative made it 300 years ago. Rauhaa.
Totally awesome handle with that knot!!
Nice touch to wrap the steel around holding the handle in place.
I was originally just going to weld the handle to itself, but the hole in the flat stock gave me the idea for the wrap.
Well am sure this is a well build to last scoop, nicely done sir!
Awesome work - Excellent craftsmanship
Wow, it was very interesting to see you make this from a piece of scrap metal. Great job.
Glad to hear that, thanks!
Very helpful in a shop! Nice work!
I love the way you take your projects to the next level, well done!
Thanks!
Have you ever considered a small 110v wire feed welder would make these small projects easier
Absolutely. But i try to make do with what i have, maybe someday i will get a MIG welder.
if you can get a small cylinder for argon and a torch you can setup a scratch start tig rig...

I like that workbench top...beat all to pieces, because it actually gets used a LOT.
Really cool project, thanks for sharing!
se me exploto la cabeza!! muchas gracias chabon!! barrilete cósmico!!

I couldn't see the beauty in this until up to the very end! But good job working the diamond out of the ruff!

Beautiful
Simple and beautiful \o/
You cant beat the template method.
mahtavaa. pikkukuvasta katsoin että kahva on tehty nahasta. Todella hieno.
so good . but u used a old iron ro make the handle .
I like it!
complimenti!
Thank you!
I was surprised you didn't heat up the bolts/rivets to form them more easily. Any reason you didn't heat them?
No reason expending the gas when smaller diameter mild bolts/rivets can be riveted cold for projects like this. Takes a little longer of course.
👌perfecto👍
do you still use the dustpan?
Yes, this one gets used in the shop.
Legend has it that's it's still scooping up shop dust to this day.
First thing i noted... Metric ! Yay. Cant be made in the good ol USA then ?
why buy one when you can build one!
too much sparetime.......
+vows2sweden A dustpan for the ages
It's very nice until you painted it black I mean the pan looked great black but the handle was very nice raw :) but great job :)
Thanks! I too like the look of raw brushed steel but it needed some kind of protection.
Top 👏

I once found an old dustpan and it actually turned out my long gone grandfather had made it. This is a rough copy inspired by his work.
