Good Video. The rescue personnel's are not wearing any Air purifiers/supplying equipment's like BA sets nor there are any mechanical ventilation provided.
Ananthkrishnan H Panicker There is no atmospheric hazard in this training exercise.The tanks held water. The particulate in the tank is rust. Natural ventilation was used for a period of time prior to the training. No atmospheric hazard noted from air sampling. If a fan was used, The particulate matter and dust would fill the air requiring a respirator and would create visibility concerns. Thanks for commenting
Great that you guys are actively training. But as Jimmy asks, why use a person and not a mannikin? Also, your hull line is attached to you half Sked (support device for neck and spin). As you pull up on the hull line, I can see the victims head moving. Have developed (or considered) a different attachment point for lifting that does not put pressure on the victim?
I am safety student and want to know where respiratory equipment hasn’t been included on the worker being rescued as the workers hauling the worker out? Is this level 1 of training where one learns the basic of hauling flowed by level 2 where associated respiratory equipment is also included? Altogether a very informative video. Now I hope I remember it all in my exam.
Most likely the cause of the emergency was not atmospheric hazard. People could collapse inside confined space and may not be as a result of toxic atmosphere. It could be as a result of exhaustion due to high metabolic work. I am a safety trainer based in Nigeria with good years of workplace and classroom experience.
Very good demonstration on this video. Just an advice, it would be better to use a mannikin instead of using real man during drill or simulation like this.
