What happens if the jaws continue to grow at the same rate as before the surgery - i.e,. the upper jaw more than the lower jaw. If you fix it at age 12-13, won't the lower jaw possibly not grow at the same rate as the upper jaw and then there is an imbalance at 18 years of age?
ello dr paul, I have had 4 teeth extracted, thus my chin, upper and lower jaw has receded, I believe. I am aware that orthognatic surgery is available to bring it forward, which opens up the airway but is it not possible to do distraction osteogenesis of both mandible and maxilla for my case ?,
