Search and Rescue dog training with the MFB

Search dogs form a vital part of any USAR team. The dogs have the ability to detect the scent of deeply entombed persons in a collapsed structure, allowing the USAR team to focus their efforts and affect the rescue. Handlers and dogs from all over Australia, including five dogs from Victoria, attended a 5 day USAR Canine Workshop at VEMTC utilising the USAR prop and rubble pile.
