Sounds so familiar to me. I can feel the rhythm and motions of the sea in the rhythm of the song, just like in traditional Portuguese music.

@@NiennaFan1 I think it makes perfect sense. If a guy is walking around the hills with his goats and notices one needs to be milked and the local piper is out of a day blowing away. It seems like a normal day walking in a small rural village.

@@thunorwodenson I thought this was a nonsense song where the - like Hug Air A Bhonaid Mhoir! They talk in the description about a kind of song where the lyrics don't have to make sense and are a bunch of short songs mashed together sometimes. I thought this was a song like that where it isn't supposed to make sense.

Such a lovely rendition of a lovely song. I've spent far too much time tending goats and sheep in my life. I "Herd" this (see what I did there?) about a year ago and forgot to hit like. I'm so sorry, I wish I could give 100 likes. Can't get the melody out of my mind. Feeding the goats, humming it. Rounding them into the pen, Humming it. All gods bless the performers and all who love this song and never turn yer back on an angry goat ;)

This sort of thing- I think they're called mouth songs, or that's what the Scottish (Gaelic) mouth song on her channel is called - is the predecessor to Bill Wurtz and the meme.

@@thunorwodenson Oh, okay - I thought mouth music meant song that doesn't make sense, not song that has nonsense syllables - but this is a nonsense song that isnt' supposed to make sense even though it has real words, what's that called? Irish and Scottish Gaelic have many sounds that don’t work with the Latin script they have much more sounds in their languages than Latin Irish and Scottish also have many spelling and pronunciation rules based on context or structure of the sentence they also have things called “w slide” and “y slide” where after many constants they have a w or y sound they use vowels to show this they also have two different sounds constants make so the letter L for example could make a darker sounding l or lighter sounding l based on the vowels surrounding the letter this happens with almost all constants

I wouldn't know where to start, I'm sorry! In fact apart from the words "Tír na nÓg" there is no Irish in the lyrics. It's probably a phonetic transcription of Quenya or Sindarin (or whatever language Oonagh usually sings in!)
