It was an Xstend and Climb. Not a heavy weight ladder, and when closed it is compact to fit under your arm. I own one, and I own a Little Giant, and I go for the Xstend and Climb whenever it can get the job done.
I was a really skinny kid but I did all sort of activities and could carry a 100-kilo barrel my first day at my first job in construction. Slenderness does not equate to weakness. The red type of muscle tissue has endurance and doesn't bulk up (as opposed to white muscle tissue that bulks up and lets you sprint and jump).

Having worked in house painting for most of my adult life, I can tell you that a 12-ft non-retractable ladder is a lot lighter than a collapsible/ extendable ladder, so if I had to walk any amount of distance with a ladder, I would choose the longer non-collapsible ladder

If I'm not mistaken, unless he had specific software running recording his GPS, they can only track you insofar as your device pings the tower. So they can likely tell he was in the cell, and maybe even confirm his vector INTO the cell, but as far as pinpointing his movements within the cell that is science fiction.
Unless Apple/Google have a secret way of doing that, of course, but are they really going to blow that intel source on this?

If that "Xtend and Climb" ladder show was the one bought, it collapses down to 32 in long, and only when fully extended doesn't reach 12.5'. It's weight is 30 lb.
I own one, it’s quite easy to carry compared to other ladder types that will achieve the same height.
