There's a reason Kawasaki Heavy Industries allowed the H2 to carry the River Mark logo. The bike represents something separate from the rest of the motorcycle line, it represents the engineering prowess of the entire company. Remember, Kawasaki Heavy Industries engineers ships, aerospace stuff, heavy machinery etc. It is considered a great honor for the H2 to carry that badge.
Lol that’s because you’ll only know what you’re truly getting with any girlfriend after the smoke and mirrors have had it’s day. Whereas with the ZH2, you know what you’re getting right off the bat.
Finally, someone who understands me. I'm 60 and I have driven dozens of bikes in 45 year, ranging from small to huge, but always preferred naked bikes. This one makes me go to sleep at night, longing for the next day... All excuses are good to take it for a spin, and i feel like 25 again (with the maturity of a sixty-year-old guy, luckily)
zh2: Where are we going? What about your Ducati? Papi Yam: Don't worry. You make me feel ways she never could. I just need time to let her down gently. Fast forward: Yammie's living separate lives with two different garages.
This is good to see because I just got back from a major squid session on my Z1000 that was a bit out of character for me, but it’s been a rough winter...
Spite will be the supreme commander with Whitney at his side. He will mostly spend his time trying the get her to swear less so they don't get demonetized.
the blurring the speedometer when you speed reminds me of top gear with hammond, may and clarkson with some 'editing magic' never exceeding the speed limit.
You really should try out the new Triumph Rocket 3r, yes it has 100kg on the H2, it's only 167bhp and it's not a sports bike but hell do you do feel the 163ft/lb @4000 from the 2500cc, it just has to be experienced. The acceleration in any gear begs you to just keep flipping the throttle. No, it's not going outrun an ZH2 but in real-world riding, it won't get left behind and in even in a drag race to 100mph it will keep up with it but the laws of physics just won't let you carry 100kg extra and get away with it. But I do feel the urge to get an ZH2 though just to put it next to the Rocket and say I got the biggest and the fastest in the same garage and for much less than the cheapest used Ferrari :-)
Sweet ride. Some are addicted to the screaming horsepower at redline, and some to the low end torque. This separates the big twin cruisers from the sport bikes. Your 100 ft lbs at 4k is your new drug, and that bike is best of both worlds. Torque at will!!!
Thanks Yammie for all the great advice. I take my msf class next weekend. And based on your suggestions, I bought a turbo Hayabusa for my first bike. It is supposed to arrive on the 30th. I can hardly wait. I had never heard of the Hayabusa until I started watching your videos. But you talk about it so much, I figure it must be the perfect beginner bike. Man, I can hardly wait to take it for a ride!
I've been researching a new bike for about 4-5 months now; the ZH2 always a top contender. These videos sealed the the deal for me, and I picked up mine ( full black) this past Monday. I'm absolutely in love with it.
@@whitegoodman7465 still a big fan of the bike. I added an SC project slip-on to replace the monstrous OEM. Also picked up a fender eliminator, changed the tail light, and indicator lights, all with TST industries parts; went with the mech-gtr indicators and halo running lights. Next I want to swap out the mirrors for bar ends. The torque is impressive; and a hell of a lot of fun. I've brought it up to about 250 kph ( 155 mph), before coming off the throttle. I am pretty sure I could have got more, but wasn't comfortable going any faster even if I could. I ride primarily with my buddy who's on a 2018 R1M with a full Akro exhaust. I keep up with him while "normal" riding and off the line, it's "close" with the low end torque the ZH2 has.. but close is as good as it gets before he dissappears. I went riding recently with him (R1M), and 3 others who were on each a s1000rr. The difference between the ZH2 and supersports was apparent at high speed and high RPMs. They are beyond impressive.. I felt like I was walking at 190 when they twisted the throttle and took off.
I just took ownership of a 2021 Z H2 SE, in large part because of your videos. My 2019 Gold Wing Tour DCT now has a companion in the garage. The thrill is real! I am renewed. Looking forward to your track vids on the Z H2!
Re: break in period, yes I’ve also heard engines are broken in from the factory, but maybe not all of the are. When I got my CRF the break in 600mi oil change (at slight before 600mi) and my oil was DIRTY AF and had a bunch of shine to it. I did another one around 1500mi bc of how triggered I was from the first one, and it was fairly dirty and still slightly shiny as well. Keep in mind I shouldn’t have done it for 4000mi. I definitely wouldn’t want it be spinning up to 10k rpm with oil like that, and there’s definitely stuff breaking in with all those metal deposits in the oil
You still def. want to ride "carefully" the first few hundred miles just to break in your tires. Breaking in tires, suspension, breaks etc. are things a lot of people forget to do. The engine... sure, really nothing wrong with taking it easy the first few rides.
There are absolutely no engines that are pre-run in from the factory, except high end or custom builds, they might be run for a few minutes but that is not run in. From an engineering perspective the only thing that needs running in are the piston rings/cylinder bores, just to knock off the high points from machining, which will make the oil dirty fast. For the running in period, best advice is no wide open throttle, no redlining, don't labour/lug the engine, Change oil for normal oil (run in oil is high detergent) and ride however you want . Some bikes have a run in programme built into the software. That dirty oil you have seen means the oil is doing what it is supposed to do, if it was really clean it would mean the rings are not bedding to the bore (glazing) and you would end up with the engine burning oil or compression leakage.

Bought the ZH2, mainly because of good reviews, and I like to think that it's also because Yammie keeps putting it on a pedestal. And I have to say... it really is as good as it gets. Not really a fan of supersports because I really like to ride motorcycles a lot... and I do everyday for long durations. Riding with other people, often do I get offered to "test" their supersports... mainly as an excuse so that they can sit upright and not wreck their backs riding to the location. So yeah, those things mainly put me off of being interested in supersports, and also the fact that I have 0 interest in riding on a track. Anyway, the bike itself... it's got the riding comfort of a naked bike, but the smooth engine of a top of the line motorcycle (which it is), BUT the speed of a rocket. I have to say that it's really at that sweet spot where... you pull the gas, and you "respect" the speed that it gives. Pull the gas, and you've got speed... YOU HAVE IT, on any gear, and RPM, thanks to the supercharge. However, you don't "max" it out since it's still scary fast, and you know there's still power in the engine. That's a huge difference to other bikes because 1)Other bikes have deadspots in the rpms, and then it instantly hits you... which for me is bad. I want that expected power, and the ZH2 really delivers. On the 2nd note, there comes to a point where you just don't respect your bike's speed anymore, since you're wanting something that your bike doesn't have. And I just don't think you will ever think like that on a ZH2 unless you're always on the track with a lot of long straights. But for just regular "average" riding... the power is enough on the ZH2 where it's fun, but still manageable, not scary at all, comfortable... and yes I do love it as much as Yammie does. Still of course, the possibility when we finally get to ECU flash this thing.
Finally got it, yammie. Riding an S1000XR on a daily basis, to commute, 20k miles/year. Experiencing everything you descibe. It is my first bike and because of all the electronic rider aids and the quickshifter, perfectly faisable. Speed limits are annoying , i can get to our national highway speed limit (120 kmh) in first gear!!
Hey Yam, thanks for the spontaneous vlog. I'm a relative noob to big bikes having just obtained my full licence 1 year ago at 34yrs of age. I bought my childhood grail bike (a gen1 1200 Bandit N) straight away and it did and still does make me want to ride like a loony and spawns that adrenaline reliably too. Seeing you spank this H2R around does it to me all over again. The sound, the way it moves and the sheer aggression of the bike is just addictive. It's cool to see an experienced rider feeling squidish all over again. I think I found a new grail bike 👍😬
I know how you feel, only after riding Harleys since 05, I'm now on a Versys 300X and It has put the fun back in my motorcycle riding. I've been riding since 1958 and at 74 years old, I've fallen in love with a motorcycle again. I think I will get a Kawasaki Z125 for a second bike. I still miss my 82 440 LTD. I have no need or want for a 200hp motorcycle.
I've owned a few very fast bikes and every time I bought something faster it always became my favorite. I still have a Supermotard, a Tuono, F800, etc. Then, I bought a 55Hp Moto Guzzi V9. That's when I realized that you don't need 300HP to enjoy a motorcycle ride.
Yeah. Thinking back to riding a 1993 GSX1100G home from the dealer's. I hit the throttle and I distinctly remember thinking "Thank God I didn't have this when I was 20." I was 48 at the time.
Yam, please take this bike back to the track. Definitely get some adjustable rear sets and tank grips. Your energy on this bike is contagious and aside from the sky high insurance, I’d love to to own this bike someday.
This bike wakes the same emotions like the Z1 / Z1000 did once in the late 70"s. Again you'll have an absolute ridiculous powerful machine, build to scare yourself and the public traffic. Frankenstein got a granddaughter now. Nice Video 👍🏻😎
Yammie! I started watching your vids after I bought my ZH2. This bike is just stupid, I love it. I still just put it in 6th and roll it, but even that bro... it has no chill.
I've been riding for years, but am only registered for the beginner and next level up give aways. This is the only top tier bike that has made me want to enter in that level of the give away. I don't think I would ever stop giggling at the acceleration and twittering during deceleration.
Any decently powerful motorcycle is an exercise in self control. I did two inadvertent wheelies on my 1200RT today accelerating or of corners in first. And a couple more intentional ones, lol.
I still think about my Kawasaki Tecate 250 I had from 12-15yrs old back in the 80s, I loved it, I miss it everyday, it was a brutally fast 2 stroke on 3 wheels, nothing compared, I get it. Driving a Ninja 600 4 years later and it was easy after that and enough :), can only imagine that monster.
I was thinking of getting the z400 for my first bike but I think I will get this instead. Just kidding I dont want to die. Good review bike looks and sounds awesome.
@@jachgeyler9018 Jokes aside this is a very popular and ignorant statement about motorcycles which kinda tells me you're not an experienced rider or rider at all yet. Hitting a pebble won't affect your motorcycle at all at any speeds especially something advanced and sophisticated like zh2. The only road debris you should worry about is large stuff oil and gravel if you're braking or cornering.
This bike would be really fun in twisties if you weren't in one of the busiest cities on Earth. Out in rural areas, this would be fun as hell. Empty roads exist, Yams.
I remember the thumbs up i got when i rode my 750 turbo. It was an epic bike for its time. I finally sold the bike to a Kawasaki dealer/collector. One word to describe kawasaki blown bikes is PULL.
Best part is even with the tune, filter and exhaust it's about the same power as stock until 6k rpm. You need to pin that S.O.B. until redline. You're short shifting just before it will rip your face! Ring it out once and you will look like the Joker when you stop.
I remember my first (from 1986) GSXR1100 which I bought in 1998... My biggest 'accomplishment' was pulling a wheelie from standstill upto 50mph with the front wheel 6 inches of the tarmac. From where I live Germany is 20 miles away 😁 still remember doing 140 mph with no fairing, 50 miles went by really quickly
You said it 100ft-lbs torque at 4000rpm. Thats where all the stomp comes from and why that bike will rip the head off any other bike on the road. Its not about the top speed, its about the shove.
Just got a 2022 ZH2 SE. Dude. Ridiculous. Rented all the top nakeds and decided on this one. Definitely the right choice, especially because I'm getting older and it's comfortable. Trying to figure out exhaust. I live just north of LA. Looks like Akrapovic has one of the few street legal slip ons. Any suggestions? Great videos - thanks and keep them coming....
I’m pretty sure this pulls harder than an h2 idk about h2r they electronically limit this thing to hell because they don’t want people trying to go 200+ on a naked bike it would be almost certain death
Love the content keep it up. Thought I'd let you know the break in phase is a real thing its just only for the wear of the tires not the engine. So yes it does exist just not for what everyone thinks :)
I used to blast on those same Austin roads in my zzr 1200...now I ride a modified N400 in Dallas. It all depends on the roads available to you. Zh2 would be terrible here..
Yammie Noob I'm addicted to your videos. I am, in fact, a noob, and I just finished the first day of Basic Rider Course today. I'm excited to ride for real soon on my very own bike. I got made fun of (twice) for saying I was looking into the Z400. smh

16:10 Yam takes off recording raw audio. Closed captions: [Music]
Me: You're damned right.
Yam:I like all motorcycles mannn..
Royal Enfield: Thank you lord....
That exodia card analogy is the best analogy I’ve ever heard 😂😂
*XH2 🤣
ZH2 (god auto correct makes me as angry as that bike)
Watching at 2X speed, that bike was flying!
big thumbs up for the v4s, tuono, and z h2
Videos like this made me start to ride a sportsbike :) This is what we love to do!
6:38 holy.... :O i think I'm in love
oh just a regular vlog might be my fav kind of yammie noob video
I know how you feel, only after riding Harleys since 05, I'm now on a Versys 300X and It has put the fun back in my motorcycle riding. I've been riding since 1958 and at 74 years old, I've fallen in love with a motorcycle again. I think I will get a Kawasaki Z125 for a second bike. I still miss my 82 440 LTD. I have no need or want for a 200hp motorcycle.
You guys bust your ass putting out quality videos for us. Thank you.
I actually just picked up my first bike yesterday. I got a MT07. I absolutely love it.
love the content
I've owned a few very fast bikes and every time I bought something faster it always became my favorite. I still have a Supermotard, a Tuono, F800, etc. Then, I bought a 55Hp Moto Guzzi V9. That's when I realized that you don't need 300HP to enjoy a motorcycle ride.
Sounds so good I miss the inline 4s
Welcome back Yam!!
If Thanos had a motorcycle?
This bike wakes the same emotions like the Z1 / Z1000 did once in the late 70"s. Again you'll have an absolute ridiculous powerful machine, build to scare yourself and the public traffic. Frankenstein got a granddaughter now. Nice Video 👍🏻😎
"Is that guy coming for me?" 🤣 BTW great camera aim on those corners!
As an owner of one, I recommend installing the small, but effective (at high speeds in a tuck) factory windshield ( called a large meter cover).
Yep i dropped mine and it save my exaust and engine etc but little scratch on the wibdshield top block
Break-in is a myth? Engineer verified?
"you need maturity and discipline to ride this" Triumph Slayer 2021
Yep 🤣
Any decently powerful motorcycle is an exercise in self control. I did two inadvertent wheelies on my 1200RT today accelerating or of corners in first. And a couple more intentional ones, lol.
I love that you unlocked the squid demon again
Keep up the good work I love the vids
I still think about my Kawasaki Tecate 250 I had from 12-15yrs old back in the 80s, I loved it, I miss it everyday, it was a brutally fast 2 stroke on 3 wheels, nothing compared, I get it. Driving a Ninja 600 4 years later and it was easy after that and enough :), can only imagine that monster.
I was thinking of getting the z400 for my first bike but I think I will get this instead. Just kidding I dont want to die. Good review bike looks and sounds awesome.
You won't die. stop being a pussy, zh2 is an old man's bike anyway get something faster and more suited for a beginner like turbo busa.
@@Fearless154 One single pebble on the road and that monster will send you to the moon
@@Fearless154 a cat can actually kill you 😅
That bike has the most amazing sound
Get the new Speed triple for the shoot out ! You know your inner triumph squid needs it..
This bike would be really fun in twisties if you weren't in one of the busiest cities on Earth. Out in rural areas, this would be fun as hell. Empty roads exist, Yams.
I got this as my second bike because I knew it was my dream bike, and we are both still kicking just fine :)
I remember the thumbs up i got when i rode my 750 turbo. It was an epic bike for its time. I finally sold the bike to a Kawasaki dealer/collector. One word to describe kawasaki blown bikes is PULL.
I agree with the hard break in. Ride it like you stole it.
1:29 - Best part.
Very true. There’s basically nothing on the road that will touch this thing from 20-120
Can't wait to hear that beast at full throttle on the track. Nice raw audio tho ;)
I love how he starts speeding and he blurs his speedometer. Smarter than your average influencer
Almost all motorcycle UA-camrs do this.
Still no blurs when is doing 60/70 in a 30 limit... i got nothing against that just saying...
No wonder. The noise it makes is sweet
Imagine what would it feel like to ride an H2R...
I’m pretty sure this pulls harder than an h2 idk about h2r they electronically limit this thing to hell because they don’t want people trying to go 200+ on a naked bike it would be almost certain death
what’s it like to ride with a quickshifter papa yam do you have to blip to downshift a gear?
You will always be a squid, papa Yams
True
Hyper naked 200hp does that to a man
Love the content keep it up.
I bike that makes you smile and giggle because it's fun is a good bike to have.
Whoop whoop siren sound when you don't know if you broke a law..That moment when your heart drops in your stomach and you think "should i do it?"
If a bike makes you feel like this one does for papa yams, then ignore everyone, love your bike.
The busa in your garage just stares at the Z H2 with angry eyes all day. 😡😤
The BUSA should be king!
The turbo has been installed, Yam said it was way faster than ZH2
@@TheHeroFrost Just get an H2R.
@@fyorbane turbo busas are known to get 500+ horsepower. H2R can't beat it
Busas are just like civics.🙂
Return to us, oh squid lord. Welcome home.
Yammie Noob I'm addicted to your videos. I am, in fact, a noob, and I just finished the first day of Basic Rider Course today. I'm excited to ride for real soon on my very own bike. I got made fun of (twice) for saying I was looking into the Z400. smh
