- Inflatable Kayak SE-370 "Pro Pacakge" by Sea Eagle | Product Review | Portable & Lightweight Inflatable Kayak for Travel & Easy Storage. The Sea Eagle 370 collapses & packs down to a fraction of its size for mobility & storage. This model can hold 3 people or 650lbs. It inflates to 12.5 feet long and weighs 30-40 pounds.
The Pro Package comes with:
- 2 inflatable movable seats (Deluxe seats version)
- 2 collapsible paddles
- Foot pump to inflate the kayak
- Repair kit
- Pressure gauge/monitor
- Carry bag with shoulder strap
Sea Eagle 370 Pro Package (with the Deluxe Seats): amzn.to/2mOmeYo
Sea Eagle 330 Pro Solo Package (1-person version of kayak): amzn.to/2mZUQXO
Electric Motor to assist with inflation: amzn.to/2mt6rvq
The Sea Eagle 370 Inflatable Kayak has 3 Chambers - the floor, and two side chambers. It has 5 one-way valves - 3 for the main chambers and then one for each of the spray skirts. The material of the hull is sun and saltwater resistant. It is thick and strong, but still soft to the touch. Lots of people take their dogs kayaking in these inflatable kayaks and it holds up to their claws. Two skegs molded plastic skegs on the bottom provide better tracking and speed than some other inflatable kayaks. The floor is think and rigidty, using Sea Eagle's "I-Beam Construction."
The Deluxe seats each have two inflation chambers. The Deluxe seats vs. the normal seats have a different shape that helps with more back support as well as 5 inches of lift off the bottom of the kayak. They have adjustable straps to help with adjusting the support level, a durable covering, and a storage pouch in the back of the seat.
To setup the inflatable kayak, use the foot pump in the one-way valves. It takes about 10 mins to inflate the kayak this way, and the process can be sped along with another foot pump (& second person) or an electric pump. We like to use a battery-powered mattress pump to speed the process (See amzn.to/2mt6rvq). Deflation is also very easy; just unscrew the valves and start folding & rolling the kayak up to push out the remaining air.
Our Thoughts:
We have had this inflatable kayak for 6 months & we have really liked it. From a convenience standpoint, we love how it can easily be stored in our RV storage area and moved in our vehicle. It is super easy to set up, and we can be on the water in just a few minutes. It inflates and deflates quickly, and the size & weight make it easy for us to bring places. However, it is heavy and bulky enough that you're not going to want to bring it backpacking 3 miles to your kayaking destination. Once inflated, it is very easy to carry with two people using the ropes along the spray skirts.
Performance-wise, it doesn't feel like a toy. It tracks pretty well with the skegs, and inflatable kayaks tend not to do this. It does sit up out of the water more than a regular hard-sided kayak and is lighter, so it is more susceptible to being pushed by the wind. It is not as fast or maneuverable as a hard-sided kayak, but it isn't terrible. It is pretty stable on the water and so far has held up to being dragged over rocky shorelines and stepped in without any signs of damage.
From a comfort standpoint, the Deluxe seats are definitely better for back support. The kayak can however be a little cramped for long-legged people. It says it can hold 3 people but honestly you'd be a little tight. There are no clips for the seats so they can shift a bit while you are paddling, but this hasn't been a big issue for us.
The only issue we have had is the valves for the 3 main chambers can crush each other when rolled up & stored which can cause indents in the plastic seal. These can be taken out pretty easily by warming the plastic with a hair dryer and rubbing out the dents, but that's not super convenient if you're already at the lake and ready to go. But this is pretty minor.

We’ve had ours for 12 years. Amazing. Been everywhere with it.
Is it too big for only one person to use?
I have heard it works perfectly fine for one person, that it actually tracks better due to being longer @@lout3921
Air valves will be just fine, if you close them before folding it. I do that and never had any damage.
I bought my Sea Eagle 370 4 years ago and my son and I really enjoy taking trips on the rivers. We just try to stay away from as much sharp limbs as we can. Have had no problems with rocks on the rivers. Lakes on a windy day suck! You will get a hard workout! But it is still a blast! It gives the kid a great memory to look back on when we are gone, and a lifelong sport to enjoy with their kids! I hope y'all have a great time on y'alls next time on the water! 😊
I own the 370 myself. This review is spot on and one of the more honest reviews I've seen. 100% agree with everything said.
Thanks! We do share our opinions but try to be as honest as possible on all our reviews. :)
I bought my wife one for her birthday and it’s very convenient for setting up and breaking down and it is relatively comfortable, we have the deluxe seats as well. I would give the same review as you, accept the stability factor. We’ve had a few lurching actions that scare ya a bit but never tipped over. Maybe other kayaks feel the same? Overall happy with the purchase.
I have towed mine behind a jet ski at 35 mph with me in it. Took it dow Rapids skidding down rocks .
I have caught waves in the ocean.
No leaks
They are solid
Thanks. Definitely some comparative pros and cons to this kayak. Agree with plugs cumbersome location, space cramp, no way for 3. Cramped with 2 small adults. Easy of setup and down, storage and durability. But, I find skew and seat design flawed. One deeper sketch would be better and seats are way to bulky for size of kayak. One final annoyance: why the heck didn’t they make the bag bigger, it wouldn’t be any heavier and it wouldn’t be such a struggle every time to pack and unpack.
Have been checking the Sea Eagle out for a couple of months trying to decide which of the two, 330 or 370 is best for me and have watched just about every You Tube on the subject and yours is by far is the best I have seen, well done don't stop.
Thank you very much for this excellent review! I especially appreciated the bit about the valves when folding. It seems like a great choice.
Another great review from the "team"!!!!
Thanks Lori!
Great review. I see I'm going to need a bigger trailer, every time someone from the group reviews something I seem to have to buy it. I'm ordering the single version.
What did you choose? And how it is after years of using?
Thanks for the review. Well done. -Just a thought on the 3 valves that collide when rolled up : Have you tried a pad, like closed cell foam, with an indentation picked out of one side to tightly fit around the male threaded opening? Place one over each and finish the roll up.
Or even a Terry towel bunched up between the three valves to prevent the contact. Or just a sheet of a foam pad, like one used for a gardner's knee pad or a hunter's portable seat. (Both found at walmart). Or possibly a sock around each one. Or screwing each valve halfway closed when deflated. Just a few ideas in case you're still having that issue.
Great review! We just might get one!
excellent review on this product..I've seen other RV'ers (Less Junk More Journey)who also use it and say they like it.
Excellent review, very professional. I have a hard-side kayak and have been curious about the functionality of the inflatables. Thanks
I love mine had two since the the late 80s I live in the S.F. Bay Area & take in the bay north bay only the Russian river & Tahoe do NOT take it where there are large white sharks everywhere else though 😍😀😎
Predators have to eat...lol
Great review Cait! Very thorough and covered everything I would want to know and more! And you gave us a few giggles too :) Might have to pick one of these up for ourselves this year! :)
Thanks guys!
We didn't know you had one of these, we love ours! Purchased it April 2017.
Thanks for the review. Just got mine today and we are heading out tomorrow!!
So, how is your Sea Eagle doing? Any issues? I’m looking at buying one to try as a first kayak.
good review.. clear and informative.. Thanks..
Very well done video and you hit all the important features too. Safe travels (on and off the water)!
All you need to do is put the plugs back into where they go after deflation that will get rid of the dent & it is ready for next time (No hair dryer needed)
Thanks. We tried the 330 , went kayaking to Wekiwa Springs Fl. there so many logs that the trip turned in to an" avoid the the log adventure" and watch for the alligators Too much to worry about when you are supposed to relax and "kayak " We have decided this product is not a wise decision for our adventures. Maybe for lakes and rivers with no predators sure I will recommend it.
This is the 370
@@gizzyguzzi I think the 330 and 370 are made of exactly the same material, the 330 is just smaller.
now to buy those comfy looking seats and put it in my K2 explorer.
How is the K2 explorer? It's 4x cheaper here in Canada compared to the one in the video, but I'm worried it's more like a toy and wife and I are 350lbs together so not sure about that either. I know if I'll like the kayaking, the extra money will be well spent, but the K2 is only $100 right now, a steal really.
@@freethinker4liberty I know the explorer K2 only supports a Max weight of 400lbs. I was thinking about it too, but I'm a hefty dude and so are most of my pals, so I'm on the fence
@@crazypunk2F get it, it's totally fine and a lot of fun. My wife is 120, I'm 230 but was 250 last summer and we had no problem, it was awesome, and will be again this summer.
@@crazypunk2F oh, I just checked, I got the sea eagle, the two person Silver/blue one in the video. But I'm sure the k2 is the same.
Close the valves before you fold it. I love my Sea Eagle, but I've never been able to fit it in the bag.
Great and helpful review! However..."no clear indication of front and back???" The skegs are located at the rear of the kayak, sooooo....and the Sea Eagle name is printed toward the front third of the boat, sooooo...
Very nice and informative review! And such a pleasant young lady to make it all the more enjoyable. Well done!
My ONLY gripe is that those air valves ate a BITCH to install!
Should come pre-installed
How is it after 7 years? Just bought this today :)
So I got all excited about the Explorer or Challenger K2, they are like $100 but then I had to see this, 4x the price but damn..
I'm 6'2 and my wife is 5'4 can we fit comfortable? Or can you recommend one but I like this brand
Great Review! My Sea Eagle 370 Sport package arrives tomorrow :-)
Thanks for the excellent explanation.
Just wondering - is it ok to handle if you're using it solo?
Couldn't you protect those valve surfaces where the three valves are close together by screwing the valve cover back on when the chambers are empty?
Great review. Thank you
Great product and value here...
Excellent review. Thanks!
You do great videos!
From the comments below I can see that many people like this thing. Test it out in a wind of more than 5 mph and then decide.
Very nice review. Added it to my list
Thanks!
I'm a pretty big guy. Do you think one person could paddle this thing ok?
Do you think the Intex Explorer K2 is just as good for a less than 1/3 of the price?
I have not owned the Sea Eagle 370, but I will say that my Intex K2 Explorer while not being a purchase I regret, is very prone to leaks. The included patch kit also did not work for patching the hole and I ended up using an epoxy and the boat is working again. Another issue I've had is I folded it up once with the drain plug open and now the plug often opens up on its own. I have seen people on the lake by my home that claim to have had their 330-370's for more than 7-8 years. At this rate, the K2 explorer will most likely not last as long. It by no means is a bad deal and the boat let me experience the water and learn that I enjoy it enough to get a higher end boat. Just my two cents but I am in no way a professional or marine engineer. Also there are some minor build quality differences between the two. Is it worth 3 times the price? That depends on the person using it.
No, not even close.
Excellent review!
Im confused. If this is a THREE PERSON Kayak, why only two seats in every photo online I see?
How does the 370 handlee with just 1 person
A well-timed review as I am currently researching inflatable kayak options. Any particular reason(s) you selected the SE-370 versus the SE-330? Have either of you kayaked solo with the SE-370? If so, how did it perform?
Because we use it mostly with two people and we are taller we wanted the larger kayak. It handles just fine with one person but is a bit more susceptible to wind. If it will primarily be used by one person I think the SE-330 would be a great option, but 370 for two.
Is there a trick to getting ok back support with the seats? Mine might as well not be there.
Excellent review
Solid review!
We just bought one and are not happy with the seats. They slide around. Anyone have a fix to make these feel secure? The back one is okay for the most part as it is shoved in the stern, but the front seat has nothing to keep it from moving.
Is there a trick to getting ok back support with the seats? Mine might as well not be there.
Make sure you check out customer reviews on the company's facebook page before purchasing!!!
Does anybody know how this performs with a larger single rider? Like 6'2 400 lbs? does it bend and bow/ DIP in the middle where the rider would sit?
Yes it will fold in the middle. You need a kayak with the drop stitch floor and a big weight cap. I really recommend the Saturn Ocean Pro 14' that's a big jump up in quality and performance. Have it, love it and easily carries to large people with it's 900lbs weight cap and has the thick/firm drop stitch floor. www.boatstogo.com/ocean-inflatable-kayaks.asp
I added 2 body boards as a more solid floor on mine.
@@barbarathawley6298That's a great idea
Great video 👍
Pro is $345 online, free shipping. But sold out everywhere. Greedster seller on Amazon have one avail now, but want $545!! Even worse on eBay. So, I'll just rent a kayak next week up at the lake instead....
It has better seats, but from a design, materials, and construction standpoint it seems identical to the intex explorer k2, which is half the price.
It does seem similar. The intex has a slightly thinner material and less weight rating however and is a little smaller overall.
How much room is there for gear in the boat? Is there room for food/gear on a multi-day trip?
Watch a video on a couple on the Mississippi. I'm not sure if it was on You Tube or Sea Eagle. Phone Sea Eagle. They used to allow you to return it.
Nice review!
Has anyone used the Sea Eagle QuickSail? How did you like it's performance?
Very cute!
Great review, can I use it as single rider also without issues? I want to be able to go solo or double and with my dog.
Yes. It can be used as solo just fine. The se330 model has tandem (two seats) and can be bought as solo (one seat). The se370 allows for storage as it is a little longer. The 370 material (pvc frame) is a liittle better than the 330. I am guessing the dog prefers the 370 because you may guessed it I am a dog whisperer. All jokes aside the 370 gives more room if needed.
Very helpful. Just bought a used 370 from a neighbor. But no pump... Advice on the electric one you selected?
How was the back for you? Is there a trick to getting ok back support with the seats? Mine might as well not be there.
You said that it should be dry before storing. How ‘dry’. Can this be accomplished before stowing on the road.
Completely dry is best. I wouldn’t store anything in a bag that is still damp.
How is that electric pump working out? I bought the red one from sea eagle for 39 bucks ad it was junk
hi thanks for the review. Can you rest your back in this seats ? or puedes dejar caer la mitad del peso de tu espalda en estos asientos ?i see are differents kayaks with a small seats and guess not comfortable for the back
I sit in the back, take a lot of air out of the seat and the whole back end becomes a recliner, throw your feet over the sides and you are good to go. You want be the best paddler companion but it’s great on your back
I plan to use this kayak for myself and 60 pound doggie....any hints for how to get the inflated kayak to the water as I probably can't carry by myself! I would inflate nearby but don't want to scratch it lugging to water. Thanks!
One can by the set of wheels for the kayaks. see here: www.seaeagle.com/Accessories/ez-cart
How difficult would it be for one person to maneuver this through the water? I need one big enough for me, my toddler, and two medium dogs
This 370 will work fine for you and the gang.
Informative and interesting review Well done! Do you think the 330 would work for two smaller adults? Or is the 370 best for two people regardless of our size?
Go for the 370. That extra foot helps when stretching legs. The 330 is fine for an average sized adult and one child but not 2 adults in my opinion.
Hi we live in Florida, lot of fun on springs and sea water, what can you expect if this kayak goes trow a mangrove tunnel, shallow and narrow springs water or even a low tide shelly and rocky? Any experience !!! Thanks. By the way I already order mines ;)
I would be careful with it. We have rubbed on many tree branches and submerged logs without problem, but a sharp stick at the right angle could probably puncture it. Rocks have not been much of a problem, but sharp shells might be. 2 years of dragging ours around the country and we have yet to put a hole in it!
How about dogs jumping in and out. Will the fabric take that without puncture?
Sea Eagle says not... We personally have taken our two dogs a number of times and no issues yet. The material seems stronger than it may look.
I think I would put a piece of indoor/outdoor carpet in the bottom for the dog, just for more protection and to give the dog more security.
@@chuckcurtin Zactly! Just think "outside the box"!
is it suitable for 1 person please?
How is tracking on this kayak (does it go straight)?
CAn someone please tell me how to attach the black fin on the bottom of my Sea Eagle Kayak. I must be an idiot because I can not figure out how to pop it in.
You have a different Sea Eagle I suspect. The SE330 and 370 blue skegs are glued on and are not removable.
How is the kayak now?
Does the 370 works for one person?
Yes. With
No problems.
I tried once SE-370 in lake with waves and wind speed 5mph. It was unstable. I returned back within few minutes. Is any one tried in wind above 5mph and waves in the lake? I did 4 to 5 times with rentals, they are very stable but this inflatable is not stable and there are high chances to tip over easily. I am thinking to return it and buy hard kayak. thoughts???
This Kayak is more susceptible to wind due to how light it is and that it sits atop the water. As for waves we have been in quite large ocean waves and felt about as comfortable as any other sit atop kayak we have used. It does handle different because it will flex and conform to the waves. I think it comes down to what you are comfortable with. A hard kayak may be right for you.
I will try once more and update here...
I tried again and it worked well. No issues with waves. Just went against high waves to ensure it wont tip over. I advice to practice to recover from tip over prior to going deep in the water.
An interesting statement. I thought the stability is inflatables' big "claim to fame".
We have had a SE330 and SE 370 for 5 years now. Use them on a huge lake. Never even close to tipping. Even on windy days. Sea Eagle stuff seems to be a great value for us. Gets us safely on the water for not a massive amount of money.
好漂亮
是哪个好漂亮呢?
What is the carrying capacity on the kayak?
650 lbs.
How much weight can it hold?
Its rated for 650lbs or 3 persons.
It's heavy
someone tell me what 38-40lbs is in metric weight values I am too tired to google :(
I have to ask $$$$$?
We dont like to put costs in the videos too often because they can change, but we got ours for under $300
+Road Gear Reviews
okay thanks.
I got my 330 off Craigslist for $60. ;)
5/2020 we are seeing these for about $350 shipped
Am I the only guy who was staring at her legs and didnt hear a thing about the kayak?
Right on
I wasn't staring at her legs.
Not all thinks thought should be said out loud. Grow up Ilham H.
Great review, thank you.
