    I have the exact make and model and can attest to its longevity and durability. Purchased mine six years ago, been on many trips with it, even had friends bring their black lab along and his toenails didn't puncture. This boat is great for everything. I've been lake camping in it, easy to aggressive river rafting, and some fishing. I agree with everything mentioned in this video.

    You mention several times that it's "heavier". Hull weight is listed at only 40 lbs. So how is that heavier ??

  • @MsKittyKitty777

    The other durability aspect, I am no small chick, I have had mine for years, and I can sit on the side when I go to get out of the kayak to stand up from a sitting position. It is so comfortable, and I can take camera equipment, fishing box with tubes-rods, sail, anchor, and other misc supplies and stay out all day in comfort of home. I have a hatchback!

    Thanks, great informative video. I’m ordering one soon but not sure if it’s going to be the 380 explorer or the 385 fastrac.
    I will be using it In California (shoreline). Any suggestions which one to buy will be appreciated. Thanks

    Looks solid and stable. The hull looks flat (unlike a lot of those wobbly drop stitch kayaks with V-shaped or otherwise tapered hulls). Would it be ok on the sea if it got a bit choppy?

    Hey man, great vid! I know that comparing the excursion pro to this is like comparing apples to oranges, BUT, besides the better materials/sturdiness, what are, in your opinion some of the advantages of getting the more expensive sea eagle over the excursion pro? is it noticeably faster? tracks better? a combination of things? I am trying to decide whether I should return the excursion pro and just get a forever kayak once and for all. Thank you in advance for your input!

    • @WillWildsOutdoorAdventures
      @WillWildsOutdoorAdventures  4 роки тому +1

      Really dude like you said you can't compare this. At all. Everything about it is better. That's like asking hey this Ford Fiesta would be better than a Mustang. Dude I want to give you a reason to get the cheap one but there isn't one, this thing is not even comparable, the cheap one is a toy that you would use to decide if you want to get a more expensive one. Or keep it for when you have some company :) Good luck man!

      @reinhard89 4 роки тому +1

      @@WillWildsOutdoorAdventures Thank you for your honest opinion. So you would place the excursion pro in the inflatable toy category then. That's quite the statement considering it currently sells for $300 plus on Amazon. Not sure if you're familiar with the Aqua Marina brand, but if you are I was wondering what you thought of it. Thank you so much!

    • @WillWildsOutdoorAdventures
      @WillWildsOutdoorAdventures  4 роки тому

      Yeah toy may have been a strong word but it's a starter kayak really to test the waters before you take a dive into something more robust, I'd still take this on a multi day trip with confidence but would have vastly more in a SeaEagle or AE . The price hike came from Corona, at the time it was around $250 & last year as low as $130 but once this hit recreational stuff went up a good bit, their inflatable hot tub was around $300-350 & is now $600 or more.

    I have an opportunity to buy a the older and used 380X, but it doesn't have the drop stitch flooring. How important is it for the functionality of the boat?

    • @WillWildsOutdoorAdventures
      @WillWildsOutdoorAdventures  3 роки тому +1

      I wouldn't buy any inflatables used but that's just me. Maybe if they let you keep it over night inflated to see if it lost any air. And without the flooring it's a hard pass really needs that.

Unsure if they sell this in the UK but going to check it out, great review! Cheers Alan

  • @berniekeene654
    @berniekeene654 4 роки тому +2

    Hi Do you think this could be used as a kayak SUP hybrid? I'm not concerned about going fast as a SUP, just wonder if it would be stable using it as an SUP. Thx BK Or do you recommend a kayak sup hybrid? I mainly want something with sides on it, I'll be taking a 20-pound dog out on the water with me for short periods of time.

    • @WillWildsOutdoorAdventures
      @WillWildsOutdoorAdventures  4 роки тому

      Yes I think if stability is what your looking for then for sure. The inflatables actually feel more stable to me than the hard shell kayaks, to flip this you would have to be trying really hard on purpose. Also has a really strong floor board so the dog's nails won't mess it up at all. This thing is a tank, a stable river tank!

    • @WillWildsOutdoorAdventures
      @WillWildsOutdoorAdventures  4 роки тому +1

      Oh yeah but it's also more than twice the price. The AE is much lighter, some places I would need to carry my boat so I'd prolly choose the AE since it's under 40 pounds & this is like 60 something. This thing is a tank though & I wouldn't jump in my AE, I'm sure it could withstand it NP but yeah this does feel more robust. The AE does track better though & is more nimble. Hope that helps

      You should google up 'packrafting' if you want a light raft. You can get some closeouts on the 2018 Kokopelli rafts right now, for $800-$1200. That's 10%-25% off their regular prices. They are small and weigh as little as 5 and 10 pounds! But you gotta pay!

      Yeah, but there would be other better options at this price point. Honestly if you are going to drop this kind of cash check out the Newport Vessels boat I just reviewed, game changer man. Might end up being a little more if you get a motor but the extra space is so nice & we have fit three on it fishing. Price is reasonable for a high end dingy I love it but for sure would get that over this. Good luck Phil hope you find something you love

      Interesting never seen these, check out a dinghy. I recently reviewed one with a motor & it's comparable in price to some of the Sea Eagle stuff. Thing is a fishing savage, you can move around the boat & that makes all the difference. I should make a video on this showing why you would want one over the other, but man a dinghy really change my whole fishing game.
      It also allows a motor to be added so you can troll & get to spots farther away with easy really if you are going to drop a good chunk of that change look into it, if it's for fishing certainly look into it you won't regret it.
      Man Phil I gotta make a video now!

      @@WillWildsOutdoorAdventures so how do you pull that off? do you just email them or did they find you? i have 1.6 mil views but not as many subscribers as you do. i wonder if i could pull that one off too.

    • @WillWildsOutdoorAdventures
      @WillWildsOutdoorAdventures  5 років тому +1

      I "pulled it off" by having a ton of great content & lots of high quality reviews & having ranked in many search terms for kayaking on the Intex video & was able to show that I have current growth as well as strong future potential. You have a lot of views on videos that have nothing to do with kayaking still need to establish a focus on your channel & most of them have a ton of down votes I wouldn't hold your breath, but hey give them an email who knows! I've also been doing this for around 5 years & have around 3 million views & almost 10k subs between all my channels. If you can prove to them either with your high quality editing of fantastic AAA videos or that you can sell a lot of kayaks sure they will send you one but first you must establish yourself better & start making content that does not get so many down votes. That's how you will pull that off.
      Pool tables make up most of your views, focus on what's there drop the other stuff & focus on a pool channel. Companies want to see that you have an active subscriber base as well & that you are currently making content in their field or fields related to them. My best advice for you is turning that into a pool channel, tighten up your editing, then spend a ton of time writing up a nicely presented email showing why they should send you _______ product for free & listing all the bullet points of how your channel has been successful & how you can promote their product. Do you sell on Amazon? Then send a screen shot of your monthly amazon sales to show you can push product. Do you test gear for any big name companies like I do for Columbia? Then send them a screen shot showing your reliability rating & how you have worked with ______ company. Are you sponsored by anyone? Send them that info as well, do you have any partnerships with companies? Share that in the email as well. Toss in your best videos the ones that will make them want to send you free stuff & then toss that email out 2,000 to 5,000 times & you will pull it off if you did everything else I said. Hard ass work is what got this in my hands, treating this thing like it's my baby.
