This my favorite version of Taker. Just him being him, his honesty, and ability to tell stories. So glad he was at Mania for that pop and to show Rock who the real “FINAL BOSS” is.
The contributions Paul Heyman has given to the business of professional wrestling cannot be understated. He drove the attitude era bus, his ideas were replicated on a weekly basis. His passion for the business captivated a generation, and he keeps on giving. One of the most influential maestros of the art of pro wrestling ever. He has the ability to make you feel, and that is the hardest thing to do in pro wrestling now adays
People don't realize that Heyman has probably had more influence on the business than anyone, including Vince. He is more or less the reason we got the Undertaker, but also Stone Cold, he's the originator of the Hardcore Wrestling scene, he is the greatest talker in the business...it's just mindboggling.
Paul Heyman reminds me a lot of Bobby Heenan. Both are/were great for WWE/WWF, and excellent at storytelling. Going to have people prefer one or the other, but I think both are required characters in the WWE. I think maybe Paul Heyman has had more influence within the business as a whole, but Bobby Heenan was a similar type manager - and excellent at it.
Taker needs his own ahow and he should call it “The tombstone podcast” and towards the end of the interview have like a series of q&a’s maybe like 5-7 and then 3 fan question’s and call that segment “The last ride”
I never got to see ECW (wrong time/area to watch) but everything he did w/ ECW in WWF and everything else I've seen on him..... I AM A PAUL HEYMAN GUY!
Definitely well deserved. I thought you didn’t get in the HOF until you were retired? Maybe that’s just the in ring guys, but I sure hope Paul isn’t retiring, he is great on camera, He is sort of the J.R Ewing of wrestling. He is a great sort of not so behind the scenes guy if you take my meaning. He can be a heel, but he can play that sort of long term thing, like I know you think I screwed you here son, but this is best for your long term career. This will set you up kind of thing. I dunno how to explain it really, but Paul has that sort of Wiley wisdom and he plays the jerk in the short term to make his guys the champs in the long term kind of thing. Anyway, one of my favorite non swim trunk performers in all of wrestling
I love taker's take and could listen to him, so much wisdom and experience. But man i kinda hate this guy interviewing taker, the way he sits seems hella disrespectful to taker, Dude needs to sit properly during a talk.
@@TheBashingKing doesn't change the fact the rando cant add anything to it. And seems hella disrespectful. He is just an unnecessary guy here. Zero screen presence. Cutting off taker. Talking as if he is podcast guy. Horrible. If it was JUST TAKER. Hella good!
From my understanding Paul helped Mark get to the WWF. I believe it was Bruce Pritchard or Pat Patterson who Paul made the call to after Mark was leaving WCW after Ole Anderson said he'll never draw a dime.
The visual setup of this podcast is all wrong. The guy we want to hear from is off to one side, side on to camera, and the anonymous guy interviewing him is straight on to camera and the main focus of the wide shots. It’s so weird.
100% The way he is sitting seems disrespectful to taker imho. This seems so out of place and weird indeed. We are here to listen to taker and not this anonymous guy whoever this guy is.
Grew up hating Cornette, but its amazing how if done right they got me to root for him and the Midnight bc i hated Paul E. Dangerously even more. This is what's missing in wrestling now. Sorry but especially AEW. We want and love the stories.
Drew McIntyre is the next Paul Heyman guy. The Bloodline will crumble at Mania, and then at SummerSlam, CM Punk Vs Drew McIntyre for the World Heavyweight Title.....
Ok, I'm 37. Started watching wrestling in the early 90's. Now, this isn't anything to do with backstage, behind the scenes stuff.... but Paul Heyman has always been super extra and animated. Too much for me. But aye, he's been around forever 🤷🏾♂️
Bobby Heenan Paul Heyman Those 2 definitely, it’s close as to who would be first. Last one is tricky, possibly Captain Lou Albano. Can only mention WWE/WWF managers as never really watched any others. Jimmy Hart might be competing for that 3rd spot.
@@johnnysupreme5718 he would be up there too. First 2 are 100%, just difficult to pick the 3rd. I mean manager wise, there could be an argument for sensational sherri, Paul bearer, & maybe Freddie Blassie.

Heyman and Taker have a History that goes back so long that it's actually insane to think about. Without Heyman Taker probably wouldn't be in WWE
Their relationship goes as far back as before most of us were born. Thats insane.
Goes back to WCW.
Taker was Ok back then, but once he went to the WWF and transformed into The Undertaker that's pretty much where his career took off.

Taker is absolutely right about Paul's ability to get the crowd to hate him, and in the process, he gets the crowd to hate who he is managing
Paul Heyman is not just a “TV manager” but actually manages his guys. He takes the role seriously. He actually advocates for them.
