The A-10 Warthog is basically a gun with a plane attached. It is a ground support plane and that's what it should be used for.
Pretty much. The A-10 in as simple a way possible came up like "Hey, we have this 30mm gatling gun, wouldn't it be cool if it were on a plane?!"

id like to think the makers were like "it be cool if this gun fly" and then they made it fly. The guns so heavy if you take it off the tail reaches for the ground LOL

This is the video that got me into Arma 3. I looked for more videos and fell in love. I've since bought all the DLC and set up my controllers for flight only. I wish I could afford the Logitech flight stick you use, but that will have to wait. I got tired of playing through the old Battlefield and Call of Duty campaigns. I had the difficulties maxed every time and even with Battlefield 3 and 4 where I didn't have the campaigns memorized I still breezed through everything. I found myself using ridiculous weapon combos just for a challenge. Like the shotgun and pistol even on long range engagements. I needed a better challenge. Arma 3 has delivered for sure. Large Scale dynamic campaigns and much more realistic fighting. Wish I had found this game sooner.
I love the vids Drewski! Since I have such a crappy laptop I cant play my favorite game (Arma 3) and your vids put just enough A3 to keep me satisfied.

I don't know if someone told you but to lock on to lasers you have to select the gbu (mini nukes) then press R or T (it changes between drones and planes) while scanning lazed area from quite a ways out at a high altitude. once the symbol is solid white, drop the bomb.

hey drewski can you do an entire video on exactly how to do every key for the a-10? id love to be a pilot but im not familiar with the keys for switching targets and all the other keys
also how to pilot maybe do a video of gun run or something then slow the video down and commentate over what your exactly doing

Personally I love a10 warthogs because I live near moody air force base so I get to see them fly over all the time and sometimes they let me and my dad into the bombing range and we can watch them practice.
this is what i dream of doing in arma but have no idea how to find the servers but im flight stick ready and soo good to go
Any1 can help me? I cant see the squares and "diamonds" when trying to find any targets.. Like Drewski just saw them from 2km cuz of square which literally asked him to lock on, and i have to search everything by my eyes.. (Yes i have radar on)

the 30mm in the a10 is about 7 foot long and that is what stalls the aircraft and makes that sound when it shoots due to the length of the barrel

Oh man, that was some painful target locking at the beginning. You realize pressing 2 on your keyboard will list everything you can lock, and let you select them individually, yeah? Just keep a numpad by your joysticks.
What kind of specs are in your PC at the point of this video?

how do you paint targets like that for locking on? i swear i have to manually do it. i have to paint targets using my targeting camera then i can lock on but i cant do more than one at a time. am i doing something wrong?

I think you can lock the GBU's onto the laser designated targets if im not mistaken. but you may know already by now ;p
Use the laser with the gbu's you lock the lase with a square then once the secondary square making the diamond it means drop the bomb and it will guide it in

I'm new to the pilot stuff and wanted to get a joy stick do I also need the petals for it to work or can I just use the stick?
Do you recommend a 6600k for Arma? I've gotten my new memory kit and my GTX 1070 already, so Skylake or newer is really what my options are. I would like to stay under $300 for a processor. I also have a 360mm AIO cooler, so overclocking is definitely in my mind.

Im assuming you are better at this poin(months later)t, but decent flying. Not great, but better than most. Also the a-10 is a CAS beast and is well renowned for its danger close capabilities. Granted you need ground troops who are capable of carrying a smoke grenade or laser designating. So it sucks that you would be relagated to fly around in circles, when you could be so useful. Great videos though and you earned yourself a subscriber.
So, do you know how to pick up lased targets now? :P
Not too great of a flyer here, but when selecting GBUs you can only lock onto lased targets, possibly? :P
GBUs are GPS guided, so no on the lazing.
How to get the A-10 plane? Is it in ARMA 3 Jets DLC? Or it's a mod?

salsa4everable the game is single and multiplayer with tons of mods and whatnot. And the ceiling is like at least 20-30k meters

+TheChrix1 I have even better fps now 😂 i7 6700k Skylake, h170 pro mobo, GTX 1070, 16gb corsair Vengence ram, corsair 850w psu. At the time of that comment I had an MSI GTX 960, which broke in 31 days. So I RMA'd it and bought a ASUS 1070 instead

+TheChrix1 not entirely sure man. I'm quite lucky, my boss bought me the rig as a thank you for building them a new site. If you use PC part picker . com you can add all the parts together and it'll give you a rough estimate. It'll tell you if there's any conflicts too
