back in the 90's I handed my transmitter to a young kid and replaced parts as he learned to drive the car. now that kid is an awesome racer and he has done the same thing for newbs all the time. passing the torch is something you should never miss out on. thanks for the video. keep up the great work
I am one of the kids who was brought up that way racing pan cars on carpet oval I used to go and watch my uncle race all night long and never said a word about trying his car and then one day a few months later on he let me drive his super fast pan car this was back in the day of making your own battery packs with cells that you soldered together and you had big strips of light bulbs putting off 90 degrees of heat in your face to drain batteries. He taught me everything and I am really glad he got me involved because I love the hobby I just wish more places had tracks to race on
How old was the kid when you did that I did same thing last 5 weeks in a row with my legend car for a kid this kid would have his parents bring him just to watch and he never asked his parents for a car to racing eand never asked anyone to try a car and would always Marshall and would sit quite and learn and watch me work on my Busch car legend car and runner tire truck all carpet oval so one day I told him he could run my legend car on a practice night and I told him shut drive it and if it breaks I will fix it well after about a 100 laps this 7 year old was driving a break out legend car like a pro and he know drives my legend car for me as a driver every week on carpet oval and carpet road course he is getting very good
Favorite Rc moment, well my first win is up there, but making it to the d main with my own chassis, custom body, cheap used motor and borrowed tires at the Short Course Colossal in Ohio. End up around 32 out of 65 cars. Was a big accomplishment for me.
My uncle took my racing with him in the late 80's and early 90's, my Dad couldn't afford to get me into rc cars then... fast forward say 30 years and I just got into rc cars with RTR, and soon wanted more, like racing dirt oval and off road as a kid. Now I am getting into both, thanks for the great channel to help us new people to the sport.
My pleasure. Sorry for the lack of content the past few months. Been stupid busy racing big races. Now with this covid shutting everything down. I should be able to get back to making videos again
My favorite memory was when I was about 12. I ran a Hornet in an enduro oval race back in the 80’s . It was slow, but I had less battery stops. So it went pretty well. I didn’t place, but that race is stuck in my memory. I can close my eyes and go back like it was yesterday.
I appreciate the video. I just bought a Losi 8 and picked up some $100 10 scale late model. I’m practice up with these and see how I do. That Losi 5T V2 tho!!!!! As a late model!
My Favorite R/C memory would be watching the fast guy's at the R/C Chili Bowl. Me being a newbie to R/C cars. Watching videos and reading Forums to get good information is hard. I want to thank you very much for stepping out an starting a dirt oval UA-cam Channel.
I appreciate your support! Stay tuned to the Facebook team page “Team Unknown Racing” for a FB live from the track will include info on a bigger giveaway. Going to step it up a notch
My favorite rc memory is my first win. I got it a few years back at Fastlane raceway in the stock slash class on the dirt. I got really lucky and passed some really fast guys in lap traffic.
Good video, lots of info to hopefully steer new guys in the right direction. Also patience, the knowledge comes with patience, an open ear, and help from the experienced drivers
Just Got back into RC Racing and on the second week out at the local carpet track won both the novice and the sportsman classes with my new to me T5M. Wish I had dirt oval racing locally here in Boise, ID. New to your videos as well, great content keep it up!!!
Defiantly earned a sub for willingness to help us newbs out. No track here so i gotta build one. My family used to own ponderosa speedway here in ky so i got got the track building and prep down i think. But i know nothing about these cars.
Do you have any info on 1/10 sprint cars? I want to get into racing them and be able to swap the tires out for foam tires when doing carpet tracks and normal tires for dirt.
Foam tire and rubber tire are two completely different setup cars. And even chassis designs. A foam tire car, Will have WAY to much left side weight for racing on loose dirt. Now if your rubber tire track, is a purely clay track, then you could get away with it
@@TeamUnknownRacing ok thanks. I'm currently working on a street stock with a bandit for the base and I will race that at my local hobby shops dirt track.

I live in Kentucky and I want to know if there is a dirt track for RC cars here in Kentucky and I like your video and you educated me on stock so how can I get start here in Kentucky
Im not real familiar with Kentucky area. My best opinion would be to just start searching all over facebook. I do know there are a few tracks in southern indiana depending how close to the border you are

Soo the car that is on the shelf is a buggy based. Slashes are short course based. You have to run the bigger tires on short course classes. Buggy street stock is real popular. (The purple 11 car)
Sorry for the dislike, well I changed it to like bc this is great info. Sorry but I'm new at this and I now finally have my first fast RC car and this was all talk and no racing. 🤷
Connor Lane so far it is treating us really well! 3 nights on it so far, 2 second place finishes and 1 win, all at different tracks. The cross weight is still a little off and need to roll the center a bit better, But we are trying something different this weekend with it!
