- Learning about autism - what I wish I knew about autism, before I knew about autism. I have learned so much about autism over the years. The number one thing I have learned is to look at the behaviors associated with the diagnosis.
In this video I cover many things I've learned through first hand experience as well as from other autism parents over the years.

Please come back to making videos. My son is being tested for Autism and these videos are so informative
Thank you Traci! Asking for more videos is the biggest compliment I can think of! I have not stopped Autism Some Assembly Required, it is just temporarily on hold. I never intended this "hold" to last so long though, and I apologize. I promise to start on another video. Any suggestions for topics, or information you'd like to learn more about?
Anything! I am new to this and looking for anything

Best question I got from someone who tried understanding autism: "Do you have emotions?" 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Truth! And sad that so many people don't understand.
I have autism and I feel emotions really deeply. I’m not the best at expressing them, but they are very real and if someone is being mean or rude to me in any way, I automatically take it personally. That’s actually something I can’t control; but I CAN control whatever I act on it or not. I keep choosing not to act on it and keep it to myself.
I also have hyper empathy; if something tragic enters my thoughts, I suffer emotionally. It’s a double edged sword and can really be a burden. But I bring it to God and He carries it for me and gives me peace.
