The earliest way is just put it in their feed with a apple cut up real small and maybe a little sweet feed if you have. They gobble it right up. A good experience for you and your horse 😂 . I like to pick my battles. 🤠
I don’t see this as a battle rather an opportunity to teach the horse how to accept the deworming process easily for the rest of his life . Where by feeding it to them you don’t know if they got it nor does it teach them any thing
How long will that one dewormer treatment last or is there some kind of schedule you have the horse on? Will that one treatment get rid of all his worms & parasites or does the horse require several more treatments?
This is a very good question. There are a lot of factors to take into consideration. The environment that a horse lives in , how old the horse is and what is the body condition of the horse , are some factors you think about . I usually deworm once a month because I have a high concentration of horses therefore the reinfestation rate in my horses Environment is higher than a place that only has a horse or two. The best advice I can give is to direct you to your veterinarian to advise you based on your situation.
